Hi all,
I have a 3 week old Sony Xperia Z3 Compact (D5833). However, it suddenly turned off and refused to charge.
The phone was at ~10% charge before I plugged it in using the cable and adapter that came with the phone. I didn't notice that the charger light didn't light up because I was busy. Half an hour later, I noticed, and the phone refused to power on and also was unable to be charged.
I've attempted to follow the FAQs located on the Sony Support website:
(Main Page --> Z3 Compact --> Troubleshoot --> I cannot power on my device) and
(Main Page --> Z3 Compact --> Troubleshoot --> The phone doesn't seem to charge) but to no avail.
Is there anyone out there who can help?
Thanks in advance.

I have two questions about charging dock:
1) Exist any charging dock for xperia z1 which I connect to USB and can use phone with computer while charging?
2) How about battery, if phone is in dock whole day and many times will be take out and put back - can this shorten xperia z1 battery life?
Hi everyone, a friend of mine bought an used Xperia Z and replaced the battery with a brand new one. Problem is that after a while of flawless usage, the battery drained to 0% and the phone refuses to charge or power on at all, this is the situation so far:
BATTERY PLUGGED:
- Cable on: can't go to flash mode or fastboot, the phone tries to power on and gets detected for a split second (screen off and red light ever so often)
- Cable off: fully dead
BATTERY UNPLUGGED:
- Cable on: can go to flash mode and fastboot mode (this way I flashed latest official ROM) but doesn't boot of course
- Cable off: of course nothing.
What I tried so far:
- Charging overnight, NO USE
- VOLUME+ and POWER ON for 8 secs, then charge for 1 hour, NO USE
- Hot plugging the battery with the cable off (bad idea), MANAGED TO BOOT ONE TIME but like an idiot i disconnected the cable to switch to wall charging
Does any of you have any idea? Of course the phone is out of warranty and I don't have another Xperia Z to charge the battery, neither I think another battery will help, since this works.
im having this same issue, ive even tried a replacement battery with no results.
ive asked around in the Sony forums and my posts either get ignored or deleted seems like this is probably my first and last sony phone.

Flash a new firmware... Nd u are good to go...
And one thing it's a Xperia z forum...
Xperia z Red Light - no boot - no PC connection - FIXED
Hi
I just sorted my bricked Xperia z (C6603) - that wasn't being recognised by my PC
I tried various methods to bring the phone back to life - but nothing worked
[*]different charger
[*]different cables
[*]connecting to my pc in attempt to flash the firmware.
[*]charging it for over 24 hrs (just to be safe)
[*] Different combos of pwr / up / down buttons
Nothing worked - just the red light came on when I plugged the charger in - the docking station (that I had used since I got the phone) didn't even fire up the red light.
So I stripped it down the z - using a heat gun (low heat setting) you can see how to do this on youtube or other guides - took the battery out and found out there was no power in the battery (checked with voltage tester) - it has Positive and negative on the battery connector (thanks sony!)
seeing that it had no charge - decided to force a charge to the battery using a usb charger that i use from my Drone
charger-for-rc-eye-one-xtreme.jpg?w=283&h=283&r=4&o=SElg4XoxMLzDbJHJZyaGY49SVN4j&V=yf5o[/IMG]
putting the battery contacts in correctly between the pins (you'll need to check the polarity) - looking at the charger with the pins facing and the usb it pointing up the far left is negative PIN then positive PIN - place the connector between these pins an ensure that both the + & - battery contacts (it will have a static red light if correctly charging )
left it for 20 mins - tested the battery again and it had 3.7 v (14% on the phone)
place it back in the phone and fired it up... Whhooho we have it up and running again - as if I didn't have the issue.
I suppose you could alter a usb cable to perform the same as the charger -and just hold them on for 5 mins - maybe enough to get it back up and running
Why Sony thought it was a god idea to stop the battery charging at all - if it went to zero % (unless you think that this is nice little money maker)
anyway I hope this might help at least one of you out there !
My z3 compact will not boot up. Trying to hold the power button will not start up the phone, I then plugged in the charger for it to charge and it is constantly blinking a red light. I left it to charge for a while (about 1-2 hours) without any disruption and when I tried to hold the power button to boot it up again with the charger still on it I get this picture of a low battery.
I have tried the method of taping the power button down while having it charge to try to boot up the phone, but that does not seem to work? Any suggestions on what I should do? also I do not have warranty on the phone.
Check the indicator located in the bottom flap (where your sim card is). If its not white then water came in your device. If the indicator is white then try connecting your phone to pc and if the pc recognized it than you may be able to repair your phone with pc companion

Dear, with the Companion tool you can recover it.
Flashing Red Light ONLY when charging, phone will also not boot up
I i had the same issue these past few days, and i searched almost every part of the internet to find a solution for this problem. Some solutions are so complicated that only technicians only understands, did all the steps on hard reset and etc. I also tried using xperia companion but it didn't work for me at first. my batt died when it was 40% more or less so i assumed that it has battery when it died, as i said earlier i tried using xperia companion but it failed for me. fortunately for me i had an extra xperia z3 so i decided to use the batt of the functioning xperia to my broken xperia z3 that has 100% battery, then i tried using the same method softwre repair on my phone, after a few hours it WORKED FOR ME. I tried opening it and its back to normal.
I hope it worked for you guys, i just wanted to share this because i didn't find any working solutions on the internet.
i had same problem with my z1c is the battery very low (during boot the battery also when plugged isn't in charge) i've solved this with orrible manual charging the battery with 5V directly on battery pins but now it works!
hi guys.
I have a sony xperia z3 compact which was my dads until it stopped working at all. He used it in the morning browsing on the internet and facebook, his battery was on 100% in the morning as he was using it, it dropped dramatically fast to 60% and became really hot he turned the phone off to cool down for a while and when turned it back on he had 40% battery life. he used it for a little while it it became to 15% and became really hot again and he turned it off after a while he needed to turn it back on and the phone refused to come back on. When you connect it to a power source (PC or wall) the notification light only turns on but if u press the power button or a sequence of buttons nothing happens. Can someone please help and tell me whats wrong here.
Thank you in advance!!!
Use the Sony Pc comanion and reflash the rom using the instructions in the app.
