I am not sure where to post this but I have attached a wallpaper that has a greyish background and was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to turn it into a black background to go better with our Note 4 SAMOLED screens. thank you!
Maybe my eyes are going bad but the background looks black to me.
Edit via the phones built in photo editor- increase contrast to max, save changes. Then reduce saturation down a bit and save changes

Hmm... BTW, the wallpapers that I post here are unique and are either snapped or created by me using photo editors in android
They look more beautiful when applied as wallpaper , than just viewing them on this web page.

You're right. But I just meant the situations of using a browser like operamini (mobile) or using a few inches screen.... images won't be displayed as you said l.

This may just be me being dumb, but I feel as if the display on the Moto X isnt very sharp. I know its a 1080p display, but it doesnt look super sharp. I can see some of the outer pixels of some of my apps, yes if I am trying to look for said pixels, but It doesnt look crisp regardless. Also, a question about the wallpapers, I have many high resolution wallpapers I would love to use, but when I set them as a wallpaper, they look terrible. I understand the phone dimensions are not the same as the picture and that cropping and zooming in is needed, but it just looks more worse than what it should be (after going into the gallery and actually blowing up the picture myself. How do you guys feel about the Moto X's screen? Love it? Hate it? Suggestions for my wallpaper problems?
How are you setting the wallpaper?

I just set my background in a similar fashion and the picture looks great. It had to crop the picture as well (since the picture was 16:9) and it still looked good. I just went through a few of my apps and looked very closely to see if there was any visible and I see a kind of grainy film over the whole screen that doesn't move with scrolling. Its hard to describe, it almost looks like a picture taken at too high of an ISO. Never noticed it until I was looking.
Just got my Nexus 6 and it's really nice, but the icons on the Google Now Launcher aren't that sharp, especially when compared to the Nexus 5. These are all Google apps and they're slightly fuzzy, especially noticeable on the edges, easier to see when looking a little closer to the display. Is anyone else seeing this? Could it be an issue with the display? Text and images look okay inside an app, it's mainly an issue with icons on the homescreen.
Also, the display seems really over saturated, I know it's AMOLED but I didn't expect the colours to be so saturated.
Coming from the G3 they don't look as sharp. Could be the Now launcher

its not the nexus 6 displays fault. its the fault of the developers who made those icons, for not using higher resolution images. the n6 screen is of a higher resolution, with lower resolution icons on the screen, that are larger in size than on the n5. what do you expect? of course they will look worse. the icons won't magically apear in higher resolution.

I'm talking about any apps, including the Google apps. Guess that's Google's fault for not using higher resolution icons for the N6 then?

Thanks for the reply, glad to know I'm not going insane. Just tried out Nova launcher and the icons look a lot sharper than they do with the Google Now Launcher. So it's software and not hardware, hoping a future update will correct the issue.

use any launcher, itll be the same. its not a n6 issue, its an issue with the resolution and size of the icons. you want them to look better? get root access and change the dpi of the screen. itll make the icons smaller, and they will look better.

Or use Nova Launcher (and probably Apex has it too) and change the icon size to be a bit smaller. That will stretch them less so they look sharper. You can go as much as +/- 20% in Nova.
Okay so I been feeling unhappy with way my screen looks. The pink tint has been annoying me. I turned off the live display because it was crap IMO. I noticed in the menu of livedisplay an option called color calibration. Duh. I'm sure a lot of you know this but. I'm also sure a lot of you don't. Pink is red. Drop red to 97 and the picture looks so much more realistic and yes. Less pink.

What and where is live display?
Is it a CM thing? That's the closest a search would lead. I ask, because I'm on stock ROM.

Thanks I applied your logic to Color Control since I am on stock rom. It was really hard to lower 1 notch from 255 to 254, the developer should make that better. Anyways I think it looks much better. I increased contrast and saturation slightly as well.
Ice Bear created a similar thread on the LG V20 threads so that the V20 users may share their KCAL setups. Now it's time for the OnePlus 7 Pro users to share. Let us know what KCAL values you are using along with the screen calibration profile from settings>display>screen calibration.
Kcal?

KCAL is a feature that comes with a custom kernel if it's added in. It allows you to have finer control for screen calibration. These include: Red, Green, Blue, Screen Saturation, Screen Value, Screen Contrast and Hue. You can only access this setting if you have root, a custom kernel and use a kernel manager such as Kernel Adiutor or Ex kernel manager.
For me wide color mode is enough.
It can be enabled in display settings (OOS) or adb shell command with root:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/soc/ae00000.qcom,mdss_mdp/drm/card0/card0-DSI-1/native_display_wide_color_mode

I have the display set to AMOLDED Wide Gamut with the temp close to the middle/a little colder, and in KCAL I bumped the saturation up to 48. I like the over saturated look so I think this setting is awesome! Glad I read this post :good:

Along with the AMOLED wide color gamut mode, it is very insane. Colors are super punchy/super oversaturated. Lots of people prefer oversaturated colors over duller colors.

At the moment, Ice Bear is using the Display P3 setting with the slider to the colder side. Slide all the way to the cold side and slide the slider 10 steps to the right. Once Ice Bear experiments with KCAL, Ice Bear will post a screenshot.
