I had the same problem and so have several others. the problem comes when you root, debloat, and get rid of Samsung Hub. Don't worry the solution is easy and can be found in Post #2 of this thread.
Download the file linked to in the post. Copy it to your phone and move it to /system/lib/ using a root-enabled browser. Set the permissions to rw-r-r (0644) (this is important otherwise it won't work) and reboot. Everything will be back to normal.

my device is an i537 would it still work

Yes. I had the exact same problem as you and that's how I fixed it. I'm also on the i537

it did not work.. guess mines is hardware

I was able to do this fix on NH3, are you sure you remembered to fix the permissions of the file when you put it in /system/lib ?

[SOLVED] GPS problems after GB update

Got GPS problem after the update with my LG o2x.
It cant seem to find any sats. Done everything thats been said on other threads nothing helps.
Any one with the same problem ?
Me 2. I get fix for about 2 sec. Then its stuck afterwards.
I don't even get a lock
Try clearing AGPS data with GPS Status
doesn't help. Can people please post their settings in hidden menu. All of them please

do you disable gps if you don't use it?
in official froyo and officeal gingerbread (v20l)
gps need to be enable on boot if you want good signal , otherwise you will always lose it
so try this
enable gps
reboot phone
turn on mobile data ( no wifi !)
open your gps app
I got my first fix in about 30 secs (cold start)
second on in 5 sec
Same problem as some of us had with previous leaked GB roms. Topogigi fixed the problem by tweaking service.jar file, that's the only thing I know. He talked about way of calling hardware that was wrong and explained that after a lock the GPS vanished..
You should search in Topogigi thread, there is a workaround in the beginning pages that could work (setting a new server in hidden menu).
That's why I'll stay with my ROM for now... It is perfectly working.
+1 from me, davjan. Seems to work for me. Thanks.

This worked for me!, however the srs level for each sat is not greater then 40 for some reason :S
I'm also experiencing this: as soon as the GPS gets a fix, the gps device itself seams to disappear. The Nav-app does get a valid location for one second and then the gps icon disappears.
This problem was not present in 10D and it does seem to happen when I activate the GPS later. If I boot with GPS enabled, the problem doesn't seem to occur.
Can this be fixed with the custom Jar file from Topogigi? Or is that for a different problem (no fix at all or something else - I do get a fix quickly but the GPS device seems to disappear then).
If so, how can I install it on my stock 20L? Some post talks about mounting a folder. How can I do that? I guess I need to root first and then use some kind of program on my pc or....?
I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I'm new to all this and there is so much information and a lot is hard to understand if you're new to this.

Actually no. I copy/paste the unziped jar file using esfile explorer. Got a message files were merged. Then bootloop.
Tried with the help of thansen to recover the file via clockwokmod but that didnt work aswell. So I reflashed the v20l kdz and rerooted.

Just simplify set /system/framework folder into RW mode then delete the old one and then copy the file that extract from zip file into /system/framework then change file permission to 644 (rw-r--r--) --> reboot OR
Here the method from origin
1- Just mount your "/system/framework" folder writeable.
2- Then overwrite the existing "services.jar" with the attached one.
3- Reboot your phone and your gps will get its fix in only some seconds.

I think your only solution for that is to turn it off... Or to find out what to change to make it lower. You do not have an option in settings for that.

Hi,
Thanks again. I found the option to completely turn it off yesterday. Sad, there was no feature to reduce its intensity.
After turning it off, I realized the samsung JB always had a subtle vibration feedback when touching all this. Initially found it a bit weird getting no vibration but now used to it.
Another thing, in samsung JB I could sync FB contacts as well. In this ROM neither does the option in 'contacts' nor in FB app allow to sync contacts to phone book. Not a major issue though.
But, in samsung JB I could sync my calendar with FB, so that I could see all b'days etc on my calendar. No option here. Even though FB is displayed under 'accounts' in setting. There is no option to sync.
But the great thing about it is its speed. There is no lag whatsoever, very smooth so far.
Have a couple of free days in hand, so thinking of trying out CM 10.2 as well

Hi,
You may be aware of the problem with the dash clock. It force closes. And it appears partially cut in the lock screen.
After going through the OMNI rom, I found that you had mentioned in post no. #225 to go to system/app and delete dashclock.apk from there.
Since there is no file manager in this ROM. I installed ES file manager and tried to delete dashclock.apk from system/app
But when I try to delete it says "dashclock.apk can not be deleted". I don't know why ?
Is it anything to do with rooting ? I found some discussion in the forum about rooting as well. But couldn't make much of it.

Root it, set usb debugging on, in ES file explorer set Root explorer ON. Or use some other root explorer if that do not work.

I read in the OMNI forum that installing OMNI Rom automatically roots the phone. So is that not true ? If that is the case I will google and find how to root the phone.
I tried to turn on 'root explorer' in the ES file manager. It says 'Sorry, test failed. This feature can not run on your device". Is it an indicator of the the fact that the phone is not rooted ?
Edit: Temporary workaround: I found the post wherein you had told a user how to expand the dash clock widget by sliding it down and holding it and removing it by taking it to the 'x'. I removed it from the lock screen and added the normal clock in its place.

@metalhead.mechie Well I don't know what that means. I dont know much about tech stuff
From what I have gathered from the discussion in the OMNI Rom Forum, that I download something called 'Super SU" from http://download.chainfire.eu/370/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip .
Question:
1. Do i need to extract the contents of the zip ? Or just go to TWRP and just select install from SD card and select the zip folder like i did with OMNI and gapps ?
2. Will this root the phone or do I need to follow other procedure as well ?

Working screen mirroring on rooted devices

Note: This solution only works on MK2 (4.3)
I have been researching a problem I have had on my SPH-L720 with custom ROMs where screen mirroring with my Samsung TV would not work. Based on a thread I found, I have solved my problem and wanted to share with others who may have a similar problem.
In my searching, I stumbled upon this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50597640
The OP of that thread had several applications that he froze, and made some changes to the Build prop file, and the WFDConfig.Xml file. In the end, I only made one change to the WFDConfig.Xml file, and my screen mirroring started working.
1. Edit /system/etc/WFDConfig.Xml, and make the following change:
Code:
<HDCPValid>0</HDCPValid>
2. Reboot phone, and profit!
My setup is MF9 bootbootloader, NAE baseband, Negalite MK2 ROM.
If I have time this weekend, I will upgrade to Negalite NAE ROM, and test it there.
I take no credit for this solution, and credit the original thread above.
Hope this helps someone!
What program did you used to edit this? sorry noob here

I copied the file to my PC and used notepad++ to do the edit. Then copied the file back to the system/etc folder on the phone. You'll need root and a root-enabled file manager to write to the system folder. I used Root Browser (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree), but there are several apps that will work.

There are a couple of different ways to edit the file. For me, I used Root Explorer, navigated to the file, long pressed the file name, a menu came up and I chose 'Open in Text Editor'. From there it asked if wanted to mount the filesystem as r/w, I chose yes, edited the file, and saved it.
I couldn't find this line in my file, were you on Kit Kat or JellyBean?
For some reason I don't have that line in my WFDConfig.xml, I am on Baseband NAE, Negalite-wonderom-nae-r11, MF9 Bootloader. Any ideas?

I just upgraded my phone to the exact same setup. When I look at the config file for NAE, it is a little different. But, I *think* the correct change would be:
Code:
<ContentProtection>
<Valid>1</Valid> [B]<------- Try changing this to 0[/B]
<Version>WFD_HDCP_2_1</Version> <!-- Valid values WFD_HDCP_2_0 and WFD_HDCP_2_1 -->
<CPPort>6789</CPPort>
<EncryptAudio>0</EncryptAudio> <!-- Valid values 0 / 1 to indicate Audio encryption or not -->
</ContentProtection>
I have made that change to my phone, but I am at work now so I will not be able to test this until later this evening. I will post my results when I get home.

The fix in the OP is for 4.3 Jelly Bean. I just upgraded to 4.4 KitKat, and will have to test my theory on which setting to change when I get home.
Thank you!!! worked !!
man i was breaking my head on this one.. and soft bricked the phone a couple times trying to fix this, and to think the fix was so damn easy! :good::good::good:
Well, bad news on NAE (4.4.2) - the fix does not work. Under <ContentProtection>, I tried setting <Valid> to 0. When I mirror, I get a black screen with a message that says "Unable to enable Screen Mirroring. HDCP is not supported by the connected device" I can hear the sound from the phone on the TV, but no picture.
I just updated the OP that this only works with 4.3. I have gone back to Negalite MK2 ROM, and plan to stay there until a solution for NAE is found.
Does anybody have any other ideas on how to make screen mirroring work in 4.4.2?
Well i did update to NAE and tested the "contentprotection" value to 0 , also changed the name from Valid to HDCPValid and nothing , the TV says " the dive supports HDCP ? " or something like that .
under Developer options on KK now has HDCP checking settings. Tested all 3 options with Valid=0 and valid=1 and nothing.

[Q] Tethering Disabled

I just upgraded from a S2 Skyrocket to a S5 Active running stock 4.4.2 on ATT, and realized that in the last couple years ATT must have caught onto the simple uninstall TetheringManager.apk trick to enable tethering. I have rooted with towelroot (easiest root I've ever done!) and I've cleaned off most of the ATT garbage from the phone, but haven't been able to figure out how to get tethering working. I read through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535141 but since it's for the S4 I assume the apk won't work for me.
Can anyone point me to a set of instructions that apply to the ATT S5 Active?
And before anyone tells me to pay ATT, I have a really old $10 unlimited data plan that would be lost if I ever added tethering, I would go back to the S2 before I would consider dropping my data plan.

Ok, what's a working procedure to install and use this? I've read through 10 pages of that thread and have no idea....
I tried installing the apk, won't overwright existing apk.
I tried uninstalling existing apk and installing this apk, says it cannot install. (I have a backup of existing which I then restored)
I tried deleting the installed apk from /system/app and copy and paste this apk in, tethering crashes when I try to launch it.
EDIT, the apk downloaded as a .zip which I renamed to .apk, might this have something to do with it?
EDIT 2, I missed the clearing of the cache and rebooting. After replacing the APK with the downloaded one, clearing the cache with TBU, and rebooting, it seems to be working great. Note I didn't have and odex file to delete....

Just make sure you use the link in the post I recommended. There's no zip, only an apk that is 232KB large. Use a file explorer like the ES Explorer app. Go to /system/app, copy TetheringProvision.apk and TetheringProvision.odex to a backup location, then delete them, copy the downloaded apk to /system/app, set the permissions to read + write for the owner (root) and only read for the rest (using the "more options" setting if you use ES Explorer) and that's it, the Mobile Hotspot app should work.
I have tested and works correctly with a phone released using another operator. :good:
It's easy, take root the phone, use "ES explorer" or "rootexplorer", go to the folder "system / app" delete "TetheringProvision.apk" and "TetheringProvision.odex", copy the new "TetheringProvision.apk" and set permissions "rw-r--r--" reboot and go.
Wireless Tether running smoothly. :good:

Reading this I almost thought I woke up in the middle of the night and made another post; exact same situation I found myself in!
I used Wanam Xposed to disable provisioning, is this functionally identical to using Wifi Tether Router to 'bypass' the tethering plan requirement? I'm using the native hotspot app atm.

You are missing the final r, it should be rw-r--r--.
In ES File Explorer it's Owner read write; Group read; Other read
I also cleared the cache after doing the file swap. I had my permissions wrong the first time as I left Execute in there, once I figured that out it's working great for me.
I'm on an S5 Active.

Ok for starters I'm rooted lol I use es explorer and have been for a very long time so I have all proper preferences selected and have edited sound, build, host files etc. in the past plenty of times.
My phone felt laggy and on some accounts even stopped downloading properly from play store (start dl and half way through just stop and hang) so I odined back to stock cuz for some reason twrp didnt show my copy of my backup. Strange. Long story short I'm trying to re edit my sound file, build and host as well as delete some bloat back to the way I had things, and like I stated my phone doesn't allow for these edits to go through and instead hangs and then reboots.
NOTE 12-10+2 ?

It sounds like something is not loaded right or missing. I have edited all 3 and no issues. When you say you removed bloat. What bloat? If you have any xposed or are trying to run art don't. Will create havoc.

@BACARDILIMON bloat like flipboard, hangouts, tmo tv...stuff I don't use. Im on dalv not art and I have xposed installed, but haven't even gotten that far yet as far loading mods. I just tried a different file explorer and same outcome when I tried editing my host file smh.

Unfortunately the step I would do is delete xposed and clean flash Odin. Just freeze apps don't delete. And fresh install all apps even su and es fileexploer

@BACARDILIMON yeah man I think so...I like what xposed can do but I don't think it's that stable yet. Thanks for your help bro :thumbup:

Have you tried repairing permissions?
You could also mount your phone and edit the files by pulling them with adb and then pushing them back after editing. Reboot into recovery and repair.

I first tried repairing through tarp but nothing changed so just finished reflashing back to stock and starting from scratch, but thanks for the suggestion. I'm still kinda new to all this and honestly wouldn't have known how to debug properly anyhow.
