I never flash lg to stock, i just got this phone couple weeks ago with 12b. Sory if i asking to much. I dont wanna post in developer area. I m affraid they will get cranky. Thanks for the thread man. I'm a G2 newbie, but familiar with root, recovery & roms. I just got my G2 yesterday. I have it rooted, still on 12b, was going to use freegee but saw the brick thread. I need advice on what to do next. Goal= reliable custom recovery with Loki(which I'm new to), and a couple fast roms with mods & bacon. Thanks in advance for your time.

If you want to get to a good recovery flash back to 11a using the flash tool after u have the proper drivers and programs installed...unfortunately I'm on mobile ATM kinda busy but I will be more then happy to assist you ...oh..make sure you use philz cwm...its the best...extract philz zip somewhere and flash the recovery.IMG using flashify and keep me updated

I'll try asking you before starting my own thread.
With all this talk about needing the 12b base / bootstack when wanting to use the new KK roms, I have a question.
Here's the short version which maybe has enough info to answer: I'm not sure the last official OTA I took, but I know right now I am just on a debloated official 12b LG ROM that somebody put up late last year. If I'm on a stock LG 12b ROM, simply debloated, do I have the right "bootstack" and all that to just wipe and try the KK ROMs without tot'ing all the way back to 10b and taking the OTAs again? I'm not sure that I ever took 12b over the air, but if I'm on a 12b rom, did that update the bootstack and everything?
Longer version, extra details: looking through my old files I have a 10b tot file so I know I went all the way back to that at one point. I would assume right after doing that I would have accepted the 11a OTA, as my files show I downloaded the tot file in Nov 2013 and 11a was released the month before. I had bought my phone on eBay so I'm pretty sure I was just being safe by fully restoring it with the flash tool, probably flashed 10b and accepted 11a once I turned the phone on. And then proceeded to root and rom or whatever else. But I CAN'T say for certain that I ever took any OTAs. I may have restored to 10b and just immediately switched over to debloated stock "CleanROM" that was available at the time. But as of today I am on a stock LG debloated 12b rom. Would that have updated my bootstack and everything anyway, just the fact that I flashed a 12b stock rom? Or does it absolutely have to be that you took the update over the air?

Is there any way to flash it without flashify? I'm adb rooted, and trying to use loki from this thread, but it keeps telling me that it's not a loki image. When I use the dd method, the phone won't boot into recovery and I get a ton of drives that need to be formatted.
On the vs980 running 11A

Seeing that you're on the 12b baseband. Whether you flashed a ROM or a new radio, doesn't tell you what base your aboot image is. The only way that I know of to tell is if you made a backup of your stock ROM before you started flashing.
Only thing I can suggest is using the lg flash tool to go back to 11a then upgrading to 12b via the ota, then reroot/reinstall your recovery

You shouldn't have an issue flashing back to any stock kdz's or tot files period from anything you're on now. I bought my phone just under a year ago straight from Verizon and was on the most recent update and still was able to flash back with the r&d or the flash tool itself

Flashing to 11a works like a charm every time I had to just to get a fresh start on testing ROMs. Flashify just makes it simple to put philz on as a custom recovery. Which is pretty darn good if you ask me. Their should be no issue in going straight to 11a

I think I might have just bricked it.
After trying the dd recovery flash, unsuccessfully flashing recovery, I was able to get back into system. Once there, I tried to flash phil's cwm via loki. It said my aboot was the wrong version, so I thought I'd just OTA to 12B. It shut down and tried to go into recovery, only there is no working recovery. I can get it to show the LG logo and it flashes something about boot certification, then the screen goes blank and I get several dozen volumes needing to be reformatted coming up on my PC.
Is it done for?
No its not. We just need to get that 11a tot file and a few other proper files I'll grab for you to use the flash tool to fix it....should work...we'll figure it out I'm sure....see if you can get into download mode...brb

Its on comp 41 everything in place I just get a milky way port error? When I screen do a unlock it says systemui has stoped & when I press my home button nothing happens... The home (v4.1.38) system app is gone. Oh & LG wizard stops at syncing contacts after factory reset.

The milky error is common. It's even in the description of how to restore to stock. And are you trying to run the LG flashtool with the phone on? And not in download mode
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
No phones in DL mode I've tried everything I can think of checked unchecked milky way port read a few different how to 's on how to do it & everthing looks right start to finish? I'm on 12b I bootlooped my phone & someone via teamviewer restored it back to stock firmware everything is in place but the firmware was 11b but I've seen post saying flash back to 11b from 12b I could be mistaken?

I am running stock Verizon rooted ROM w/ TWRP and a few basic mods. But I can't find anyway to upgrade to KK without wiping. Is that REALLY the case!?!
Please say its not so!

You need to restore the factory recovery to flash the update.. Easiest way is to return the phone to stock. I'm not sure if there is any other way.
I used this to go from stock 12b 4.2.2 with TWRP to Malladus 24A 4.4. It doesn't wipe your internal data. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xsU9W656TA-Lw1LAlL7hqROf2QjiOI2puyDU-DDP41Q/mobilebasic?pli=1

It still wipes your rom settings, I think that's what he's trying to avoid, I'm just not sure if the stock recovery itself is available for flashing so the OTA can be installed over a stock rom.
I just got the OTA update for the G flex for 4.4.2 1 week ago and every time I try to update it, it reboots into the installer and gets to about 33% and then reboots leaving me on 4.2.2. Anybody know how to fix this?
Do you have a custom recovery or have modded, frozen or deleted any system files or apps processes etc...

are you rooted? if you have a custom recovery it will not take the OTA.

No i am not rooted. I am at stock everything.
Update: I took it to the sprint store and their computer will not even recognize my G Flex so they cannot force update it.

Try reflashing it with the LG Flash tool following these steps TO THE "T"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
back up all your shizz, follow the instructions and then try updating once you get the notification again. worked for me. I had the same issue but mine HAD been rooted and i just happen to unroot it and i got the notification shortly after. did this (return to "OOB" state) and it took the update
i've installed the Lollipop's TWRP Backup from a thread, its for XT1069 but works on XT1068 so i installed, it's running fine, but an issue i have is that the gallery doens't open and i can't take screenshots or download something with chrome (any file from any server shows download failed), i guess is a problem with internal storage or ART, any ideas for solve this problem? i don't want to go back to KitKat
