I have the SCR26 Smartcover for my Z3C. I was able to install a contacts widget that I can put in the little window, problem is that when I press a contact I need to open the cover for the phone to start calling, which sucks. Any workarounds for this?

I can't find a thing anywhere on this problem I am having with my new, virgin, unaltered Sprint Touch Pro.
From the home screen I press "phone" (just under the TF3D bar) which brings up the dialer, then I press "contacts" (just under the * key),which brings up the contacts and the software keyboard. I then start to spell "gary" and when I get to the r in gary it dials and starts a call to "Delmarva Gas" which is an entry in my contacts list. Does it every time....... Bizarre
Only does this with the software keyboard, not the hardware/slider board.
Does it if i go staight to contacts also.
Does anyone else's do this??
Any Idea's??
I am unable to call any contacts from the touch flo 3d contacts page.
Nothing happens when I tap on any of the phone numbers for a contact.
I can send a text or email from the contacts page.
If I tap on the more option I can make a call from the screen that then appears by pressing the left soft menu key.
Anyone know how to get the functionality back?
is adding a contact picture allow you to make a call?
if so this is a known issue for certain late rom.

No adding a picture to the contact does not allow me to make a call.
Does not make any difference if the contact has a photo or not. Or if I try to dial from the favourites contact page or the all contacts page.
The rom is the standard htc one (v 3.43.25.19) that came with the phone only had the phone a week and a half.
Found out what was causing the problem.
Pocket Shield has an option to use the WM dialer when using the slide to answer functionality.
It claims that the slide to answer is more responsive when using the WM dialer and recommends using it.
Once I unticked this option the ability to dial from the contacts returned.
I have a huge problem. After I updated to GB, my smart dialer seems to be broken. When I start tapping numbers, no contacts start filtering out, then delete what I tapped and press on the info field and it gives me info about smart dialing. I start the process again and nothing happens, erase the numbers, tap on the info, I get the info, I remove the message telling me how smart dialing is and then it works as it should. It looks like a hickup but I am out of ideas on how to solve it.
When I used to double-tap the home button, I got the old voice command menu (which worked fine). Then after some gbloat update, I have to use a voice command icon to open it. Otherwise I get the google voice dialer (which always comes up with the strangest interpretations of whose name I said... it's completely useless) So if i have my bluetooth on, I have to physically pull my phone out of my pocket, unlock it, and then choose voice dialer... needless to say it's quicker just to go to contacts...
By the way, why did they take 'contacts' out of the dialer menu tabs, and is there a way to put it back in?
So earlier today I was attempting to grab an online photo of someone to associate with a contact so I don't accidentally reject the call (I tend to just let people I don't know go to voice mail). So I looked up the number with Firefox/duckduckgo, found the photo I wanted, did a press/hold and the menu pops up. Select 'Set image as' and then selected Contacts.
Contacts then crashes (I tried it twice, with the same result, except the second time it asked to close app or send feedback, vs restart app and send feedback.)
So is this a bug? Or is it me thinking the phone should be smarter than that? I mean is Contacts thinking I'm opening it AS a Contact? And since all it sees is a jpg, it crashes?
This seems like it'd be good functionality. now I wonder if Bixby would look up a photo and put it into a contact for me....
