Does Liveboot work? - LG G Flex

In the Play store is a boot animation app that requires root, and what it does is show a live log of what your phone is doing while booting up instead of the boot animation.
Has anyone tried this on the Flex? This thing is so temperamental about that stuff I'm afraid to try it myself.

Yep. It works.
ROGERS • LG G Flex D950G • Stock ROOT 4.4.2 • V4A • 180DPI • FLEXIN'

Yep. I'm using it now. And have been for several days. It looks really cool. Especially the paid version that has transparent mode.

Yes. You have to have a computer with adb, android sdk, Java dev kit setup. You have to patch services.jar to get 100% its all in the op but the part about setting up the environment variables with Java and adb. Google it...if you don't know I mean...its all there. Hope this helped. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Look up runandhide05 his dev host site has all his works and one is for g now xyboard. Before you flash it with safesteap rename the existing google voice actions or googlequicksearch box by adding bak to the name. After you flash it rename it to re install it. Don't set any defaults because the microphone will go away if you don on homescreen and it will say google/Google. Looks bad. Make sure you have the right google text to speech engine and all is well. Hope this is what you wanted.

Yes I know. Shameful. But its Motorola's fault for using blur and locking bootloader and no expandable memory. XOOM 1 is the first tablet using android and purely google like nexus line. 3+ years and still tons of dev support and even stock jb. I got one 2 days after release, loved it, that's why I got the xoom2. But only the name is like the original and the rest sucks.
Anyway...just dig around and you will find a lot to work with. Xposed allows several "rom - like " mods on stock ui.

Most of the Xposed things I tried didn't really work but I'll try.
All I want is a 1% battery mod and the Jelly Bean themed nav bar. But I can't seem to find any of those. This 1% battery mod doesn't work for me.

[MOD] [STOCK] Qi Charge w/o boot, HiddenMenuDialer, +Vol Steps

Here are a few simple mods I've made to my stock VS98011A rom since I've owned the phone. They're pretty straightforward. Standard rules apply...Use these at your own risk, make sure you have a backup, flash them in recovery (I use twrp), blah blah blah
!!! Unless otherwise noted, these are for stock (odexed) VS98011A/12B
Qi Charging while the phone stays off
- I wanted the option to keep the phone off (and cooler) while wirelessly charging, but LG saw fit to make it boot the second you put it on the pad. This keeps the phone off just as if you were charging with a regular ac adaptor. This one will work fine on 11A/12B odexed/deodexed.
Download
HiddenMenu and Dialer access enabler
- For some reason, Verizon omitted the HiddenMenus. The apk was absent and they disabled access to most secret codes via the dialer. This adds the newest version of LG's HiddenMenu/AAT apks and enables access via the following dialer codes:
##LGSERVICEMENU - Gets you into the main LG HiddenMenu
##PROGRAM - Verizon's specific menu
##AATEST - AAT menu
##FEATURE - Another VZW menu
##DEBUG
##HELPHELP
If you're asked for a password, just enter 000000
If you break anything while playing in here, blame the person standing to your right.
Download - VS98011A
Download - VS98012B
Increased volume steps
- This is just something I've been doing to my phones for a while...30 steps for music/media and 15 for the rest (up from 15 and 7). There are a number of tutorials out there on this. I originally read about how to do it here
Download - VS98011A
Download - VS98012B
I'll post more of these as I remember and have the time zip them up.
Enjoy!
Devs: If you are interested in using all/part of these mods in your work that's fine with me, but please ask permission before doing so and give credit after.
Can you please provide deodexed compatible versions?
Thank you. I have been complaining about this with android for a long time. I used to hook my phone up at a bar and play music over the loudspeakers and most of the time one step up was too loud and one step down was too low. Usually had to bring my iPad to get it right.

Will this work with deodexed
Sent from my VS980 4G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The only one that will work on a deodexed Rom is the charging mod (as it's just an ini file). If I get some time, I can deodex the others, but you could also do so yourself if you don't want to wait. Are you sure you're running stock? These won't work with AOSP.
Most people on VZN probably run malladus which is deodexed. Stock is a waste of time when Malladus is superior. It's like 1.2 GB with lgapps and gapps included vs. 2.5 gb

Stock is nice.
Nothing wrong with stock. Just a couple tweaks and life is good.

Malladus is stock...Its just pretweaked and ultra debloated. Its also DeOdexed which other than these tweaks everything else works with flawlessly. If you are on VZN you should really try it there is a reason there are hundreds of thousands of views on that roms page vs. even most of the AOSP roms. Most people like stock as do I and thats why I like Malladus. I'm not some fanboy it is really the only option for stock options and tweakability like clean rom but more development went into optimization.
I prefer tweaking, deboating, optimizing, ect, myself. I hear good things about it though.

Thanks so much! So these files won't work with malladus ?
Not currently as they are odexed. I also have no way to know what other changes from stock have been made in that Rom, so rather than have people flash these and potentially create problems I decided to keep them odexed for now as that would at least stand a better chance of only being installed on a truly stock Rom. The charging mod should work fine, however.
I wouldn't waste your time trying to keep up modded files for custom ROMs. Instead I would just upload the source files with instructions on doing it manually or some sort of "dev" package so they can make work and keep updated.
Cool stuff. I however do like the phone powering on automatically when I drop it on the Qi so I can make sure its on for my alarm.

That's an excellent suggestion, thank you. As soon as I have some time I'll do that.
Pretty nice yo. However, when I first booted after flashing I was getting repeated messages saying that an apk might not have user privileges. After I went into the hidden menus and and entered the password it stopped. Gonna reboot and see if it has actually stopped for good.
Upadate: Message has stopped. ?

Is there anywhere I can find a version that will run on CM11?

[Q] Cyanogenmod Moto x Sprint/Ting but banner says verizon

So I have a Moto x that I bought from ting. I unlocked the bootloader through the Motorola website. Then I flashed a nightly Cyanogenmod 11 room through TWRP custom recovery. All works well through ting. But the unlock screen and notification tray say Verizon wireless.
Anything I can do about That?
Also does anyone know when active notifications or touches or control might be added? Or can I add them myself?

What's ting? And good luck with seeing any of the Moto-specific apps getting added to CM. Grab them off the Play Store, I have no idea of they'll work or not.

The play store tells me they are not compatible with my device. Ting is an mvno carrier that uses Sprints network. When you call them during normal business hours a live human answers the phone, and the pricing is quite good. I highly recommend them.
Maybe I will go back to stock Android 4.4 and simply have root. Now I have to figure out how to do that.

Cm gives less customization than stock ROM does , you still need exposed and gravity box, also cm gives you sound issues and camera issues

well, in order for xposed to work you must be rooted. And once your rooted the updates will fail, so....... yes. yes it will.

Actually this is wrong.....Rooting won't make the updates fail, a custom recovery would.
Sent from my LG-D959 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No it won't hinder you from updates like pit bull said. But if you plan to keep the availability to root and customize your phone with xposed you will not want to take any updates. As soon as we get this bootloader / work around/ recovery figured out there will be no need to update to gain new software perks or enhancements. You will be able to flash the newest, smoothest, fastest, shiniest versions of the latest updates or android versions. Just like updating but the devs will fix any future lock downs built into the software and tweak them to be better all around than stock. So just like getting updates but BETTER!

well thats funny because I am rooted and have NO custom recovery (AT&T) and everytime my phone trys to update itself it fails and I get a message saying that since my phone is suspected of being rooted it cannot update....

I found the .apk in another thread here on xda, and downloaded the latest version there.. There are about 30 effects you can apply to photos, all which work great, panorama is fantastic, only issue I have is with Burst mode, it FC's on me :/ Not that I use burst mode often, but I was running the app through its paces.. It does come with it's own Gallery, which is a bit annoying, and they're baked into the same .apk, so no freezing option.. AND, there is no silent option for the shutter sound..
