Msm hsic host wakelock issue - Sony Xperia ZR

I am getting msm hsic host wakelock overnight about 11 min on my Xperia ZR
I am running Nikhil's Lightning Kernel version 6.
Can anyone give me a solution??
Can i reduce it with amplify??

I think I wrote it somewhere already: if you like your phone having cellular connectivity (kinda what it's built for, I think) - leave HSIC alone, and generally stop messing with wakelocks from services. Getting users into wakelocks is like putting a blind man in a glass store.

MSM_HSIC_HOST Wakelock. Suggestions on how to fix?

I have no idea how to get to the bottom of this. Everything I normally try simply doesn't work when it comes to fixing this problem. In Better Battery Stats, it's clear that something is causing the modem to stay awake, because msm_hsic_host is a direct reference to external modem. I will literally have 10-20 minutes max of partial wakelock from sync and then I will have over two hours of msm_hsic_host wakelocks. Avast and Better Battery Stats all do not show any application taking up significant data in the background.
This is making the difference between 4-5 hours of screen on time and 6-7 hours of screen on time. Is there some sort of method to figuring out what is destroying my battery life?
Don't know if this information will help, I have used wakelock detector from play, a free app to show various wake locks .
Also tried Qualcomm battery guru, again free from play , it's a beta app specifically for phone with Snapdragon soc. When first enabled it monitors your phone usage for over 24 hours before enabling various power saving options, that can be customized by the user.

hmm.. interesting to see this as i thought this was a 4.2 issue. See this thread below. The wakelock is related to a driver issue from qualcom who makes the snapdragon s4 pro and 600. They released a patch that has been merged into various custom kernels but the issue remains in the AOSP stock kernel to this day. This is a main reason why i dont mind being on 4.1.2 instead of 4.2.2 until google or a dev for the HTC one fixes it, your battery life will suffer

I ran a wireshark to figure out what was causing it.
One of my issues was Hotmail sync. Setting it to Push apparently means that it will constantly send packets back and forth. Stupid, but whatever.

Hey,
can you explain how you ran a wireshark? I have this wakelock and can't figure out how to stop it and I dont use hotmail sync
Same problem here.... Lot of wake locks and can't find out what causes it.
24% lost in 9 hours sleep mode.
I have the same problem. Because of this Wakelock my HTC One won't go back to DeepSleep.
Is there no app/tool to observe which ap causes this wakelock?
did anyone find a solution? which network are you on (i'm on vodafone nl)
Facebook messenger!
I had this issue as well.. the wakelock was doing its thing like 50% of the time.. removed facebook messenger => the values are back to normal.
Please post if you can see the same..

Here's a really good explanation on what this wakelock is and how it's being produced.

It's apparently much better than the n4 which had nearly the same wake lock as off-charger time. The snapdragon 600 with HTC has much improved the wake lock times.
i woke up today to see this happen for the firs time to my phone.
newest changes to mine: installed ARHD 9 (but it was fine the day or two since, only last night it was unplugged from the wall, instead of the usb port)

Wakelock issue Google/Sony etc. didn't solve since 2009

What I want:
Save battery by turning wifi off during screen off.
Issue:
By trying to save battery like this I get a hugh battery drain by a wakelock called
wifi state machine (YOU WILL ALSO GET IT, TRUST ME. AND HELP ME).
No app ...not Tasker (different scripts tested, tested also one of my own),
not 2-3 Battery saving apps,... nothing I tried could prevent that this wakelock
wifistatemachine starts after some hours (after boot) and drains 40% of my battery
and reduces my screen on time (minus 1,5h).
So I searched again for a solution:
What I found is ridiculous... This is a structural android issue dating back to 2009
(http://lwn.net/Articles/318611/) and wasn't solved yet by google ...
There are dozens of threads of people suffering from the same issue
since 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, ... (even in the sony forums).
Just to mention some threads:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/49771?start=10&tstart=0
http://androidforums.com/captivate-...-android-system-process-draining-battery.html
They all want only one thing: wifi off during screen off to save battery, but
instead this wakelock reduces battery life ( in my case: minus 1,5 h screen on time).
So I tried to fix it by myself, because I thought maybe somehow it might get solved:
Tried all kinds of apps as I said (tasker,...), tried several fw-versions (currently latest .253) for my xperia Z,
tried rooted and unrooted, before removing bloatware/after removing bloatware, tried deleting fastdormancy.apk and .odex,
tried with stock kernel and doomkernel, Stamina On / Off, Battery save mode On / Off, ....
well I don't know what I could do else... nothing helped to kick this wakelock in the aaa.
Any help ?! I'm getting crazy and I want to fffffff solve this in 2013
IDEAS ?
You are complicating things for yourself.
Keep the wifi on during sleep should be at always, and don't worry you can keep wifi on even if you are not using it cause there is a power saving system specified for wifi so it wont consume lot of battery when it's idling.

sorry for awakening an old thread, but I see the same thing on my Xperia T.
Just to summarise the problem, the wifistatemachine wakelock occurs when wifi is left ON.
This wakelock causes the device to spend a shorter period of time (though still over 50% in an hour) in deep sleep when the screen is off.

Get yourself a BatteryGuru and 10.3.1.A.0.244 4.2.2FW latest installed. 253 and 307 of 4.1.2 kinda crappy updates. Mine here works fine left 70% for 3days wifi auto On-off using BatteryGuru. But not said all devices got their wakelock unfixed. SamsungGT7500 ICS got them fixed and slept like dormant baby.

got it fixed by freezing application called location base wifi (a sony one)..4.2.2 xzr
great! will look into that! might help mebimprove battery life even further

Android OS Wakelocks

My Sony Xperia Z1 is having massive wakelock for Android OS... Its becoming irritating as even restarting isn't stoping it this time... I can't have 20% of my battery being drained by this all the time. I've disabled auto sync, turned of google location service access over wifi etc... Any suggestions?
Help anyone? This battery drain is very annoying!
Check what's causing the wakelock. Use Better Battery Stats, available on Play and here at XDA.
I've used Wakelock detector and it shows that most of the wakelocks are caused by the NlpCollector Wakelock and NlpWakelock.. I've not even on got 2% deep sleep...
Edit: Added Picture showing Wakelocks..
I have/had those wakelocks. Although they seem to have disappeared now, they only ever came when I had wlan turned on. Nothing seemed to fix it, as I had them even though I completely reset my phone. I didn't even add a Google-account after the reset.
I too want to know what causes that, seems like it's not anything tied to just the Z1 but a lot of devices using JB. :/
I had the same problem. Any solution for that?

I think the problem it is the Exchange service, because when I configure it, battery drain extremely... But I not sure where the services wrong..

wlan_wow_wl Wakelock issues

wlan_wow_ml is causing the majority of my drain. I'm not too familiar with this one. msm_serial_hs_rx is also very high. I've tried everything I can to get better battery life. I average about 20hours with 4-4.5hours screen on time.
Any ideas?
I get a lot of this wake lock as well, no idea what it is
The first one is the connection to a wireless network. No idea on the second. Download gsam battery monitor. Let it run for 24 hrs after a full charge. Gsam has a built in app called app sucker. Open that and at the top there is a drop down menu to view kernel wake locks. Then you can select each one and after that opens there's a button that says Google me. That'll tell you what each one is.

I posted this on the Motorola Support forums as well as a question on the msm_hsic_host wakelock and one person said this
"I think that the "wlan_wow_wl wakelock" is a software lock included in the Android OS and installed so that your phone does not wake every time it sees your (or other) wireless network access points. I believe the msm_hsic_host wakelock is related to the data radio for the same purpose. Both designed to keep battery drain to a minimum when the phone is idle.."
so guess these wakelocks are good to have.
So these are wakelocks to avoid wakelocks? Lol

i guess?? lol
These wakelocks are too high to ignore...
It seems to be related to qualcomm drivers and afaik they already fixed it, but we need to wait for Motorola to implement the fix in a future update.
I have the same problem. This caused my battery to drop 10% idling for 6 hours with no apps installed. I hope it gets fixed soon.
Here we go again...
8 hours awake (because of msm_hsic_host and wlan_wow_wl)... This can't be right.
Is there any solution with battery drain"wlan_wow_wl wakelock"?

Do you have this app installed : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.loadinghome.smartunlock
Or anything similar that uses some kind of rule based on wireless SSID ?
Or even an wireless files sharing app that stays on ?
That wlan_wow_wl is cased of periodic scans of the wireless status IMO, like searching for networks around you or looking if you are still connected to certain network!
You could try disabling "always WiFi scan". In Android 5 is found under advance settings from WiFi menu(from the 3dots menu), in Android 6 is found under geolocalisation (GPS) in the search menu(from the 3dots menu)

msm_hsic_host and note 4 Tmobile?

I have a question about wake lock and msm_hsic_host
I'm noticing that it definitely in my wakelock bbs. But it only goes up when I have the screen on and using it for the most part.* So my question is, is this ok?* Or should I have no wake lock or msm_hsic_host should not be on for that long?
I'm also curious because this wakelock is crazy high for me

Have you tried to go on plane mode and see if that wakelock goes off? Because when I do that it does go off. I believe is data related. But even when I use WiFi and turn mobile data off that still runs... Lmk

A quick Google search found this, posted at XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/msmhsichost-wakelock-battery-life-t2155461
"The msm_hsic_host wakelock is because the 3G modem is connected to the phone as an external USB device controlled by the hsic host controller. When the modem wakes up for any reason (apps sync, location, tower ping, etc...) the wakelock is requested. The problem is that the hsic host controller doesn't go back into suspend mode properly, this is a problem with the kernel. The result is that because the hsic host controller isn't asleep the phone wont enter deep sleep while it waits for the hsic host to suspend.
There is the additional issue that if your signal is poor the operations that caused the wakelock in the first place take longer to complete thus lengthening the time the wakelock is held.
The issue is significantly reduced on WiFi for obvious reasons, all the data is transmitted via WiFi so the 3G modem doesn't need to wake up nearly as often, it still wakes up to deal with tower checks and that sort of thing to ensure that it has voice connectivity, but those events are much rarer.
There are kernels available that attempt to solve this problem, Harsh kernel as suggested by another user has fixes in it along with a lot of other changes, the fixed kernel I'm working on is stock with these changes as well, either should help, it's not possible to eliminate this wakelock completely without shutting down the 3G modem which would of course prevent data and voice use of the phone, but they will reduce the wakelock and may help with your battery life."
Some kernels address the problem. Some don't. Just Google the wakelock. Lots of info on it.

I read that before posting and Google it. My question is that I see the wakelock running when the screen is on and used. But when I lock the Oh one it stops running. What I wanna know is. Is this how. It suppose to be? Because it goes on for hoursfor obvious reasons. Also I get the same. Result when I use WiFi. I also have 4g lte if that helps.
