Hi everyone,
As you might notice, when you have Stamina Mode on you won't get LED notifications on your Xperia Z.
There’s a great app on the Play Store called Light Flow! This app let you personalize every type off notification with a vast set of colors!
The thing is, it only works with Stamina Mode off! Even if I have the application in the white list!
Anyone manage to make LED notifications work with Stamina Mode??
I got a question, how do I access the stamina mode white list?
I can't find it on my Z settings.

the same part that is responsible for notifications is responsible for showing the led. I don't think this is a service that you can white list. So hopefully Sony will see this as an bug and exempt the notification service from stamina, it they are able to control this independent from the rest of the core os.

No no no.
It doesn't prevent the service.
It prevents other apps from running under the lockscreen so they never receive notifications to show.
Sony have already provided the solution, you can add apps to the white list so that they DO run under the lockscreen (and thereby receive notifications).

with stamina mode switched on an applications in white list? Only for sms and telephone calls or also for whatsapp and email etc?
I used Light Flow on my GSIII and it caused massive battery drain, so I won't be using it on my XZ when it comes tomorrow...

Thanks for your feedback..
can you please check if the led notification with stamina mode on work also for missed calls and sms?
Do you use some program for manage the led notification? like Ligthflow or others?
Thanks

Do you have LED notification when you receive a SMS with Stamina Mode on?
Notification light turns off in Stamina Mode so anyone claiming it still works is lying - There's no way to use it, hopefully Sony will change this in 4.2.2 but somehow doubt it.
You had better tell that to my device. It must be lying.

No. It works only for my Corporate email account. Not for Gmail.
I've just tested SMS and it doesn't appear to work there.

I tested properly a short while ago.
I hadn't thought twice about this before, as like I said, I receive notifications for my Corporate email account. I don't use this phone for personal use, so I hadn't tested SMS etc.
I tested a few apps earlier after I saw this thread and I can't find any others that trigger the LED notification in stamina mode.
Sorry if I mis-lead people before, I assumed that as it works for my email account, it would work for other apps.
EDIT: I don't use any other apps and am running a totally stock ROM and am not rooted as this is a work supplied device (not my choice of handset).
power
my stamina mode wouldnt work it just said the same hours for wen it was on and off, and i had 2 do a reset to get it working again, any1 else had this problem

I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure mine does work with Stamina Mode on... It turns off with Low Battery Mode turned on though.
Nope check Sony's video on it. Stamina does turn it off for good. It sucks, the mode does nothing for my battery life.

Hi,
I want to buy a Gear with a great discount, but i have an iphone 4s and 5 with iOS 7. Anyone tried the null firmware with Apple? Most important for me are answer calls, sms notification, maybe Facebook notifications.
Thank you!

Bad answer, I don't want to enter a brand war. The italian I'm Watch is an android smartwatch givin you calls and sms even with iphone, so it's possible, cause the os is the same. I want to try the Gear instead of an i'm Wacth because it's cheaper here in italy, and for the camera that is missing in the italian product.

Nope, not bad answer or brand war - to get full use, you need a 4.3+ touchwiz rom
If you connect to any other phone, you lose notifications and can really only use as Bluetooth headset and quick access camera
null_ doesn't add anything to help with interaction with other phones (other than being easier to install apks and do Bluetooth tethering)

It's what i was askin! So with iPhone i can use te gear as a bt headset? And have Facebook notification installing Facebook app on the gear and connecting with bt tethering (in italy we can use tethering for free).
It's missing only sms notification, right?
By the way, in future we could see something else cause the way to have sms notification with android Watch and iPhone using the MAP protocol already exist and I'm Watch it's using it. Maybe someone will put that stuff in future firmwares for the gear.

Yes, it can be used as Bluetooth headset for any phone
To get any form of notifications on non-touchwiz rom you need a third party app. These drain battery really fast though. Check some of the threads in this forum

There's no such thing as a stock facebook app for the gear.
If you side load the fb app, the app still needs data in order to get any type of functionality. I'm afraid iphone use is limited to none with the gear.

With an iPhone you can use the gear as a $300 watch that will only tell you the time and date. Nothing else.

It isn't a bad answer. For someone asking for help you should be a little nicer. This isn't about which phone is better. This is about the gear made to be used on Samsung phones with touchwiz and android 4.3.

I guess you are having trouble understanding english? IPhone=Iphone, Andrid=Android, if you want to waste your money go ahead, but the others are correct go buy an Iwatch or buy a Samsung phone.
Also learn some manners

Yeah, we know the optimum combination is Galaxy smth with 4.3 and Galaxy Gear, but what we are trying to investigate is the possibility that someone may or may not use the Gear with an iPhone.
With Null ROM that enables BT tethering and an iPhone that can provide it (this is already happening with Google Glass), i think we could have the following:
1) Basic BT handsfree functionality.
2) Use all apps one can load onto the watch itselft, even the ones that require an internet connection.
What we cannot have is:
1) Notifications (which renders the added value of the whole smartwatch concept kind of questionable)
2) An automated way to transfer photos/vids taken with the Gear camera to the iPhone.
What we do not know is:
1) What the battery life of the Gear would be when tethered all the time with the iPhone.
Please feel free to complete the above lists, as well.
I for once am indeed thinking of trying the Gear/iPhone combination after i again buy an iPhone.

What about caller ID on the incoming calls?
Does it show the number? Does is show the name?
I guess it dows not show the name but, i am wondering what would happen if we have the contacts app natively on the Gear and an incoming call cones from someone who belongs to the contacts.
Thanx a lot!!!

Ok guys, got my Gear for 100 bucks, good price, uh?
Now I'm starting flashing update, null_15, and then starting with some test. The bigger problem so far it's that without a Galaxy phone I can't even start the Gear. It recognize the iPhone, got me the pin to pair, but disconnect immediately. So I have to flash null first of all.

Dude flash null 15 and then you start experimenting.
Please try to check the caller id like i asked before.
I have a Galaxy S4 but i am tempted to exchange it for an iPhone 5 if the watch can handle caller ID with name.

Z2 does have one built in, if you open Smart connect you can choose what happens when you plug headphones in. I normally plug my phone into my car to listen to music so i've set it up so when i recieve a message and my headphones are plug in it automatically reads out the message for me Its one of the actions you can setup under Headphones setting.
Does anyone know how to toggle the glove mode on/off using Tasker in the Z3 compact? In some samsung phones you can apparently do it by writing 1 to some device files, but those do not exist in the Z3 (and the one in /sys/devices/virtual/input/clearpad/glove would require root).
Alternatively some application that would allow toggling the glove mode with the hardware buttons would be nice, ie. by touble tapping the power key or similar. The glove mode is handy with gloves on but I find it makes the screen too sensitive for normal use and going to settings to turn it on isn't exactly convinient.
I'd be interested in a solution as well, I'm from Canada and it's winter = cold as balls!
I'm sure you could use this task, How to emulate touch input in Tasker: http://youtu.be/F4h95ArBcRQ to get the desired result, but it's kind of a clunky solution.

AutoInput - No Root UI Automation: http://youtu.be/U6ajlDn3cwY

AWW HELL YES, IT WORKED!
AutoInput may just be my favorite new app! Can't wait to play around more with this.
Thanks, I tried AutoInput but the trial refuses to start without a google+ account so it did not work... Also its a bit crappy to purchase two apps to perform such a simple thing, and even then do it by a cludgy solution (automated input to settings app). Surely there must be some standard way to adjust settings in Android without having to go through the settings UI?

Agreed, it's not the most elegant solution but it does work for me. Currently I have it set up to activate Glove Mode whenever I'm not connected to Wi-Fi, which happens only when I leave home or work, the exact times when I'm wearing gloves. And, of course, it deactivates when I am on Wi-Fi.

Sorry to be a pain but is there any chance you could gimme a quick guide on the steps you took top get auto input to work for glove mode. No matter what I try I can't get it to work (closest I have so far is opening the menu above glove mode.
I made an app that enables Glove Mode if you click its shortcut. It requires root though.

I am new to android auto.
I have been searching for a way to setup my display for the actual driving phase. I wold like to drive with a fairly big navigation window, a small audio window (to show and control what I am listening to (Radio/player/phone/etc)), and a small launcher combined.
All launchers are full screen that are good for selecting other applications but they are hidden after selection.
I am searching for a way to have Multiple screens with a main undisturbed navigation display and a Secondary small audio display to show and control what I am listening to (and showing phone data when a call comes in). All with a small launcher.
Anyone familiar with such application/launcher that can be set as home screen?
Thanks.
