I've looked through the threads and it seems like the problem hasn't been addressed yet so..... when someone sends me a mms with my data on I get it with no problem but when my data is off the mms download button or the message doesn't show at all. This really annoys me because most of the time I don't know that someone is sending me a mms.

I'm a little confused when you turn data off you cant receive messages? You need data to receive messages. Or is it when using wifi

You don't need data on to receive SMS. With some ROMs when your data is off and you get an MMS it turns data on, downloads the message and shuts back off. Not sure why it doesn't work here.
You need data on to receive MMS messages, aka pictures or long (3pages+) messages.

I'm totally aware of this but on stock Rom the mms would sit in the inbox waiting to be downloaded with data off when I have auto retrieve turned off, but on custom roms the download button doesn't appear like how I stated above

I don't think the auto retrieve works on Gingerbread roms, only the 4.1 roms and some of the 4.2 roms.

I have tried factory reset powering off pulling sim and even reseting apn settings. I honestly can't see how it could be on my end

Perhaps your baseband got corrupted? Try to Re-flash just the modem through Odin.

Sending mms is sending an sms with a link to the mms file, so something's wrong here. If you can send an sms with a link you can send an sms without a link.
Is anyone else missing it?
I can still get texts and text back if I pull down the status bar.
I can also text through finding a contact through the phone app but shouldn't there be a texting app allowed on ups?

Hold any of the lower icons and it will allow you to delete one of them. Then, just add the messaging app to your UPSM screen and done.

I have it sometimes. Soon as some Custom roms are available, it shouldn't be an issue.

What message app are you using? Regardless, use another message app, see if the problem goes away.
