I bricked the phone so the only thing is to get into recovery. but the combo keys doesn't work

If your recovery is TWRP, hold down the power key to turn the phone off, once it is off QUICKLY hold down the Vol up key ALONG WITH the power key, once the LG LOGO appears QUICKLY release the vol up key.
This should get you into recovery

volume up? I have read in several guides that It must be pressed volume down for recovery and up for download mode..

Once I flashed my LG Flex with TWRP I access it through the Vol Up and Power instead of Vol Down. GIve it a try, what can it hurt?

with volume up I get into hardware key control mode..

What model/ swv

If you have twrp installed you should power off the phone, then press Vol- and power until the lg logo appear, then release vol- and power and press quickly both Vol- and Vol+.
Then should appear a factory reset dialog; if you press yes then you will be redirected to the recovery.

There correct Hold buttons like you were told and you should access what you want
But honestly if you are BRICK'D just hold the VOL UP well attaching USB and go into DOWNLOAD MODE and reflash totally stock
Another way worked for me was to just flash a ROM , this gave me access To total phone ( Also DELETED my EFS FILE (Make sure you BACKUP YOUR EFS FOLDER) may not be correct Carrier but its a start
Now go enter DL MODE and u'll need the DLL File for the ROM you flashed so LGTOOLS picks up phone 2 be flashed use CORRECT DLL and the C O R R E C T TOT or KDZ file and reflash stock

vol- & power doesnt boot into recovery

I rooted my 2X with super one click and installed CWM 5.0.2.0 using rom manager. I used the rom manager to reboot in to recovery for the first time, then I tried to boot into recovery by holding down vol- & power but instead of taking me to recovery it gets stuck at LG logo. I had to remove the battery to reboot the phone.
Any one got a solution for this.
It works now, I just kept holding Vol- & power button for around 10 secs after the LG logo apeared then released and it went to recovery.

I m already using rom manager.

It isnt rom manager is an app that lets you quickly reboot to CWM witput pressing any buttons
Yup, this was the first time I tried to boot into recovery manually. These apps are no use once you flash a new baseband using smartflash as it will do a full wipe of the device and you have to enter recovery manually.

the tricky part is to release the power button at the right time, or immediately the first menu item (= reboot system now) will be executed.
You are absolutely right, I just released the buttons as soon as the LG logo appeared. As a result it gets stuck and I have to remove the battery.

hisham i did the same but my phone is stuck on the logo too....i tried to boot in recovery mode but its still stuck/////
Try booting into recovery again, this time hold the Vol- and power button a little bit longer (maybe 15 or 20 secs) and also try updating CWM to the latest using ROM Manager.

Give this a try
Same here
I have almost the same problem. That is, when I try booting to recovery from ROM manager, my phone is stuck on the LG logo (red one), but when I try holding vol- and power button to boot into recovery it just does a regular boot.
I recently went from CM7 to a new stock ROM using Smartflash tool, but I want to change back due to lack of apps available.
I have also installed CWM from the AIO-toolkit for P990, but this didn't help. I still cant boot into recovery.
Does anyone have a solution to this? I want to flash a new ROM rather than the stock LG one.
with CWM 5.x.x.x you have to push and hold both power an volume- and after CWM screen is started DO NOT release the power button first but release the volume- first (keep powerbutton pushed all the time) and push volume- once so it does not choose the reboot option.
Then release both buttons, "scroll" with vol- or vol+ and "enter" with powerbutton
First time i used the CWM5.XXX the "reboots" did drive my creazy
Occurred to me too and solved flashing TG v28g (which has root and recevery attached).

Volume flex cable

Hello,
When i fixed my screen i broke the flex cable of my volume key half so only the volume down is broken... is there a way to fix this / make the volume up+power button to turn it in to the bootloader becaurse i want to test some roms and if one wont boot i m doomd
Sent from my Legend using XDA
Temporary fix:
Use the back key instead of the Volume-Down key to boot, choose Bootloader, then use Volume-Up to select Recovery
(Fortunately you don't need the volume-down in CWM recovery)

Missing CWM recovery??

After flashing kingdroid v3.0 i dont see CWM in my system... it went missing
How to reflash the whole v3.0 properly or how to install the recovery seperately?
can you reboot into CWM recovery?
Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously. This will reboot your device into recovery mode. What recovery do you see?
nothing
nope as if it never got installed with the rom itself
vol+ menu + power didnt see nothing... hmmm this is so weird everything else works fine with root access ???

Red exclamation mark and bug droid in recovery

I restored the twrp backup of 5.0.2 from a thread on xda for xt1068. But when I booted into recovery from bootloader my phone's twrp recovery doesn't shows up instead a bug droid with an red exclamation shows. I tried flashing latest twrp.img via mfastboot method but that was of no help. Everything goes fine but the recovery shows warning Android symbol. Help needed!
I tried holding the volume up button for 10 seconds and then pressing and releasing the Power button while volume button still pressed when the warning shows but that doesn't helps either. Should I flash custom recovery once and then again try flashing twrp? I need to restore my twrp backup of 4.4 so that I could get the official update.

Button combination changed in Lollipop.
Press the power button and tap the vol up button to enter recovery.

Can't boot to recovery because of hardware control mode

Hello all, a friend of mine is having some trouble getting into recovery, holding the key combos then letting go of power and then pressing it again, blah blah blah but it always boots into hardware control mode with no options to boot into recovery, we've tried several key combos with varying speed and no matter what we do it goes into that mode. It seems that other people have had this problem.... the device is on stock 4.4 and is rooted and the freedom flex app with TWRP installed, booting into recovery from android works fine and recovery is booting properly from there, any help is greatly appreciated
thanks

All I have to do is hold down the power + volume down and it goes straight into recovery mode. Have you tried pressing and holding volume down+power until logo appears then press and hold again? The only other solution is using adb.

Press volume Down+power as long as you see the logo. Released both buttons and immediately press again..
If that's not working the after the logo press Volume Up or Volume up+volume down...
