Hi, I have the latest version of Xposed framework and GravityBox installed in my Android 4.4.2 Samsung Galaxy Core 2.
I need to unmount and remove my microSD card Samsung EVO 64GB each time I wanna transfer something, cause using the original USB adapter, I get a transfer speed of 22MB/s, but if I use the Samsung directly, I get 12MB/s (If anyone knows why this happens, please explain).
Well, I wanna add a shourtcut or widget that when I tap on it, the microSD card gets unmounted. Is there any module or something I can do to achieve this?
I also have NOVA launcher installed, but I can't find any microSD card unmount function when adding a shortcut or an activitiy.

So I Have got a Note (with a 4GB card) and Rom Toolbox pro, not to mention root access, CWM and superuser.
A couple of days back, i connected my note in USB mode to my brother's computer, which unfortunately was infected with a bazillion viruses. I never know that at that time.
After that, I connected the note to my PC and My antivirus deleted the viruses.
Now the problem is that if I connect my Note to pc in normal mode, i can see all the contents, but I can not back up anything as the system gives out an error.
If I connect the note in USB mode, all i can see are the folders created after the date when my AV cleaned up my phone and card.
Now I got a 32 GIG class 10 card and I wish to migrate all the apps from my Memcard to the newer memcard. But I am unable to do so. Reason being ROM toolbox doesnt show any backups when i insert the 32 GB card. Even if i put my memcard in a card reader, none of the folders show, but the space in the card is same as it shows when i see it from the storage app on my note.
So to sum up, I need to achieve these tasks:
1. I want to see all the contents of the phone and the memory card when i connect the phone in USB mode.
2. I need to know how to restore one backup to another memory card?
3. I need to know where are the backups stored?
4. I need to know how to create a complete backup on my PC.
Thanks in advance. I am new to android so kindly bear with my noob-ish questions
Hello everyone.
I am using the Cyanogen mod 7 on my Galaxy Ace. Everything was going fine, I used link to SD to make an Ext partition and linked/moved all apps to the SD card.
Today I went to sleep and rebooted the Galaxy cause it had been a long time since I powered it off. When I woke up, all the widgets were broken and I had some overlay saying "Safe mode" on the bottom. I rebooted and widgets kept broken.
I realized that ALL the apps on the SD were gone, so I suspected it was not mounted.
Now the problem is that I can't get the phone to read any SD card at all. New, old, formated...nothing.
Thanks in advance if you can help me.
Regards.

Goto CWM and format your card. If in CWM i doesn't work, use a PC to do so and do not connect it via USB. Use a card reader or something. What class SD card are you using?
Anything below class 4 with Link2SD is bound to get damaged. I lost a 4GB class 2 and another 8GB class 2 because of link2sd.:crying:
And while you're on cm7, use s2e, it's recommended over link2sd for CM7. :good:

I can't, it says unable to mount in the CWM. The card is class 4.
But the problem is not the card, because I can read it in PC. And I tried another card in the phone and can't read it too. So the problem is in the card reader/mount.

Flash to stock and check if the problem persists. If yes, then maybe your card slot is damaged.
Hi friends,
Using Galaxy S5 G900H Variant with Lollipop. Please help me here. How can make my SD card as the default storage. Everything from the downloaded files to whatsapp folder.. is being used by internal storage. Please help me make my external as the default storage.
Default is the way it works, you can try the app foldermount, riding folders on the external SD so you do space

Hi.
Move whatsapp application to SD card. This might work.
Sorry, no such option . Just checked.

Pretty pathetic that Android still won't allow SDCard as default storage, how long has Android been around vs Windows Phone? And Windows Phone can already do it
If you're brave, you can root your phone and download an app called link2sd. Then you have to partition your sd card and you can move anything (to my understanding) to the SD card. I'm gonna do it tonight, I'll let you know how I go!
Partitioning went real well! I'm gonna add a bigger partition tonight. Feel free to PM me for details!
I personally thing its a bad idea as SD cards are slower than the builtin storage. I would like to be able to move more data to the SD card, generally keep all my media on the SD card and move a few apps. Keep rest on the internal and keep it clean.
I have a 128GB high performance SD card that has quick read and write speeds and it works fine for me- I reckon it's a matter of preference.
I'm around my link2sd/partition for about a week...
Hope you can help me!

I found the possible solution for Note 4 SDcard Issue after dealing so much with it, posting here it may help some people.
History :
If you own an SDXC or 64GB SD card or higher with exfat you probably faced suddenly disappearing all the sd card contents where says the sd card is empty and after a reboot it shows the content, Or either later indicates SDcard is currupted, mine started with this issue right after buying a fresh SDXC and formatting it using Windows, Note 4 and etc goes to same scenario after some time, it actually happens because Note 4 and Windows formatting SD Card using exfat FS.
In this guide you need a windows PC or TWRP or Mac at your choice.
Steps to fix the issue :
I assume only high speed sd cards (SDXC and U1+) with exfat larger than 32gb are problematic with note 4 and smaller size than 64gb can be formatted to Fat32 without any tools already in Windows, so this guide is intended for high end ones, like the one i had Silicon Power SDXC U1 Elite class 10
Metod 1: (recommended)
1. Detach your MicroSD card (most known to be problematic type sd is SDXC)
2. Insert it to SD Adapter place to your laptop (if your computer has no dedicated sd slot attached to motherboard better use a laptop otherwise use Card reader) and remember drive letter
3. Store your sd content to your pc to restore later.
4. Download EaseUS partition master (free or other type) all will do the job
5. Right click on the right drive letter corresponding for your SD Card and select Format
6. Give it a name Like "SDcard" or what you like then select Fat32 for file system, finally select 64kb for cluster size, and press OK button
7. Finally press the apply button in top left and magic happens
8. Now you can place back your files, your sd card is ready.
Method 2 TWRP
1. Backup your data in an OTG drive or Internal storage or cloud.
2. Boot into the TWRP select wipe menu
3. Push advanced wipe, select MicroSD card, push change File System button.
4. In this menu choose Fat and press the button, wait for it till the a message says successful appear.
5. Now boot to your system and you'll notice it's fixed and you can place your files back.
Method 3 Using Mac OS X:
If you own a Macbook or iMac or anything similar just attach your SD card to it using its Adapter then run the "Disk Utility" app in others folder or type it in Spotlight (don't forget to take a backup already) then Select erase button on the sd card and use Fat in the menu, just you need to do it Twice, then you'll good to go.
I was able to do that in Sierra with latest updates.
As the final note let me know your experience with this guide and if it helped you or unfortutly not.

I have also a solution for sd card write permission, if needed i can mention that, but the workaround is not mine work.
I always use sd formatter 4 from sd association or formatting in Smartphone
64gb sandisk extrem - no Problem
This happens on my Note 4 Exynos N910C sometimes, with my Samsung 128GB Class 10 MicroSD card. But only when my phone is unplugged. It will sometimes show the card as having no contents (Gallery and other apps don't show SD card photos or videos, etc.) and to fix it I either have to unmount and mount the card, or reboot.
Is this the same issue?

Does that Solutions imply repartitioning and adoptable storage?
Or is it a real fix for sdcard writing permission on MM and higher?
Please feel free to post

I have formatted the micro-SD card as you say, and when I rebooted my Galaxy Note 4, half of the things I had previously saved disappeared.
Hi.
I have tried several MicroSD cards in my Remix Mini, and while the built in file manager recognises and can read and write as expected it seems no third party apps can access it. (SD Maid pro detected external storage, but there was no way to give it permission to access it) I have tried a factory reset.
How can i get apps to access the External Storage?
Please, does anyone have a solution for this. I can't get Netflix to see the SD card for downloads.
