I was running ViperOne on my Sprint M7 and tried going back to stock so I can get the newest OTA update. At this point I'm S-OFF with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP recovery and I installed "Sprint_HTC_One_1.31.651.2_Stock_Rooted.zip." When I boot the phone, it takes me to a frozen lockscreen. Can't swipe the lock icon up or enter my password. 4G seems connected and the clock is live, but I can't do anything on that screen. Any ideas?
Flash a newer stock rom.
Thanks for the response! I looked around and found this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ock-rooted-5-05-651-2odex-11-15-2014-t2941907. But after flashing the firmware, it just says installation aborted.

What version of twrp are you using?
I guess after installing the firmware included in that post, I was back to using stock recovery and was trying to install the ROM with that. I reinstalled TWRP and installing the ROM finally worked! Thanks very much. Never had that problem before of a frozen lockscreen.

Cool glad you got it...there was a touch panel driver update back then that's why the screen was frozen.
Oh that makes sense! Volume buttons worked fine.

Hi everyone,
I just rooted yesterday and installed CM6.2. After trying that rom out for a little I didnt like a few things so I tried Aosp 2.2.1. The home button did not work when I tried that rom so being a noob and not knowing how to fix that I wiped and flashed back to CM6.2.
So settling in with CM6.2 I started adding a few things I added gapps and got the market all that good stuff. Then I went to add the Nexus boot screen . That worked fine. Now I went to upgrade the radio and I would get an error when flashing. So I tried Collins Battery Mod, and when flashing I would also get the same error. Something along the lines of error E:/sdcard/...... status (0) aborted. So I said well , Ill just try to start all over wipe everything and flash the newest Nightlies rom. Well I get the same error . So i tried the older version RC2..... same error. So I said to myself I should try Aosp 2.2.1. again to see if that works because it did before. Well what do you know I get the same error.
E:/sdcard/...... status (0) aborted
My recovery version is RA 1.5.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated guys . Im new to rooting and I dont like the themes that came with CM6.2 so I really want to be able to flash a theme to it, upgrade the radio and battery mod it.
Also CM6.2 did not come with any widgets?? Is that normal? I have no weather widgets, no clock widgets, nothing.
If I have to start all over thats fine because I never really got that far into customizing , but again , I cant because this error.

I'm guessing this is your problem. Try updating it to Darch's unofficial RA-> LINK
(the link goes to my dropbox because Darchs pocketdeveloper's site is down afaik and I don't know where it is on this site )
Download the "RA-Darchstar.img and put it on the root of your sdcard.
Boot up into your rom
Open up terminal emulator and enter the following:
Code:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/RA-Darchstar.img
reboot
Hopefully this will do the trick
This let me flash the battery mod but after rebooting it would boot loop. So I just restored.
Then I tried flashing the newest nightlie and got my usual error aborted... nothing seems to be able to flash still

So I had AOSP Gingerbread mod working fine with Deca kernel. I wanted to install the circle battery mod so I rebooted to recovery and wiped cache and cleared Davlik and installed the mod. Now my phone is constantly boot looping. I assume I have to RUU back to stock? Is there a certain RUU I should use?
I've tried two different RUU's and I keep getting ERROR[130]: MODEL ID ERROR
I've tried to USB FASTBOOT:
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver and
HTC Sprint Hero MR 2.27.651.6
Sounds like you didn't flash the correct one for your ROM. Just flash the ROM over itself with no wipe and you should boot up. You don't need to RUU, just use the GB ROM.
Make sure you download the Battery Mod that matches the ROM version your are running. You need to do it with each ROM you flash and they are not cross-ROM compatible.
How do I flash the ROM over itself if it is boot looping? Can I get into ClockworkMod Recovery somehow?

- Pull your battery and put it back in. That will obviously stop the loop
- Press and hold the home key and power at the same time
- Hold until recovery comes up
- Flash the ROM
Thanks. Got it. Sorry, I'm new to all this.
No problem. Glad you got it.

Hello I have recently gotten a new HTC Vivid and discovered the world of rooting.
Here is what I have done - Reset phone - Unlocked Bootloader - PermRooted
It is successfully rooted, I am following a tutorial on flashing a custom rom but I am unable to boot into recovery mode. It gets stuck on the HTC Logo screen. The way I fix this is unplugging the battery and putting it back in.
So my questions are, what steps should I go about installing this ROM?
(I have HBOOT 1.85 and I am on S-On) (Also using CloclwordMod 5.0.2.7)

I had this problem for a while also. Did you happen to download CWM through ROM Manager? That is why you are on CWM 5.0.2.7. Just flash v5.5.0.4 through fastboot and the problem should be fixed!
Here is the link to the zip file I used: http://www.4shared.com/zip/tAZgjz25/CWM-beta2.html
Hopefully this helps!

Ahh, I remember seeing a post similar to what you posted but never seen a reply to weather or not it worked.
This has worked and I am now installing a custom rom Thank you very much. And out of curiosity why would the "more updated" version not work as well as the 0.4 version?

boy, i don't know at this point, you may have borked the radio, i would try to ruu, get back to stock and start all over.keep in mind if you run an RUU you have to relock the bootloader to do so. then you can unlock again and go from there.install recovery etc/

Also, I suggest using the revone s-off method from the revolutionary team. It allows you to flash ROMs more easily without flashing the boot.img separately. The link to the thread on how is in my web signature.

i recieved several times a message saying that i have to install a security update (at&t), after some time i decided to install it but when i try to i get a status 7, another thing what do i need to install a custom rom on my arix hd, it has android 4.1 from at&t, unlocked bootloader, cwm, and carrier unlocked (i dont want to loose this), in my touchpad i just have to download the rom + gapss and install them from a custom recover, so i dont know if this is the same for the atrix hd, thanks in advance.
You need to be running stock recovery and stock ROM to install the update.
The update includes security patches and some modem updates. This update may be necessary for taking the OTA KK update.

ok thanks for answering, i have stock rom so, but unlocked bootloader can i install it then just by installing the stock recovery?
You may need to be unrooted in addition to having stock recovery.
If you removed too many of the att apps, that may cause the update to fail as well.

Did you phone take the update or is it automatically booting into recovery?
The best way to get the update is to flash back to stock ATT 4.1.1, take the OTA update, re-install CWM, and carry on using a custom ROM. This is exactly what I did with a Bell Canada Atrix HD.
You can try re-installing stock recovery in fastboot.

Yeah. The quickest, sure-fire way to get in a position to take the OTA update is to flash back to stock (stock files available here). You can use RSD or MythTools, whatever works for you. Doing this will also put you back on stock recovery.
I had to do this, too, before I could take the OTA. But in my case I had modified/removed too many AT&T stock apps...
thanks to both of you, yes the phone rebooted itself like about 40 secs from turning on i was able to fix this part by formatting cache from cwm, now im gonna try to flash stock recovery

I got a Bell Canada Atrix HD from a co-worker. When I used Myth to flash from stock Bell to stock ATT, it would not work properly. When I used RSD with 98.4.20 without going through Myth, the ATT ROM flashed without any errors. I was able to take the OTA update, flash CWM, and revert to a custom ROM.
