Hi everyone, I have read a dozen of articles regarding the rooting process of my S4 Active I9295 but none really stick to my head as one that doable or secured. Maybe I don't really understand the context of the article since this is my first time dealing with a Samsung device. Before this I'm an active user of Sony and Huawei and pretty much knew the workaround of rooting devices. But for the sake of a noobie, it's me, can someone help to direct me to the correct procedure of rooting I9295 XXUCNF1 MALAYSIA? Thanks in advance.
Done: Helped by friend. Thanks anyway. Can the moderator delete this thread? Thank you!

Hi,
I have searched for any information on Carrier IQ and the Samsung Focus S but have not found any. I have a Focus S and would like to know if anyone knows if this software is integrated or installed on the Focus S and if so, can it be removed or disabled? I had a long converation with Samsungmobile via their Live Support chat function and they less than forthcomming which makes me immediately suspicious.
Many thanks in advance
Your phone is safe. No WP7 devices have CIQ installed.
Many thanks, that's a relief

Good Evening:
This is my first time and first post here. I've gotten pretty frustrated and am hoping someone can help me out? I have a Galaxy S phone, model number SHW-110S; firmware: 2..2; kernel: 2.6.32.9; build version: FroYo.SK22. I've been all over the net and can't seem to get the users manual specific to this particular phone. So, I have a number of questions? Let's start with this one: where can I get/download a users manual specific to this phone? If it becomes too difficult to find, then my next question would be: Can I upgrade this phones O.S.? Now, there are still many more questions, but I think that's enough to get started in the right direction.
Thank You:
Rick
Hi, ive been lurking a long time and I believe that your model of the Galaxy is a Korean version.
I found this page about turning the SHW-110S into an I9000 model. I can't post the link since i have less than 10 posts so just look up Turn SHW-110S to GT-I9000 (Samsung Galaxy S) on Google
I hope it can help you in some way. :good:
Maybe it helps asking your question in the galaxy s q&a subforum

Afternoon kishagi:
You are correct; it is a Korean make/model. It was with great interest that I read you reply. NO ONE has suggested this maneuver. And keeping with that theme, would it not be best just to upgrade the O.S? As far as I can tell, I can go only as far as Honeycomb 2,3,6(?). Now, should I option for this upgrade, I wonder if I'd be able to activate the FM/TV receiver in the phone? I've done a LOT of searching and believe I've found the answer to the FM question. That is to install a widget called simply "Galaxy S radio widget". However, it seems that widget is defunct(?). So, could you suggest another widget that is comparable and compatible with this phone? And would you know if I'd upgrade whether this widget would still operate in Honeycomb? THANX for responding and my apologies for taking so long to reply!
STAY SHARP:
Rick
ADDENDUM: This has got to be THE most frustrating forums/site I've ever been in!!!! Once you login, just trying to get back to this forum/subforum is a nightmare!! I'm also extremely disappointed by the lack of response/lack of knowledge this supposedly "special forum" delivers. Read the "into" to this forum, it clearly deceives anyone that comes to this forum into thinking their phones issues might be solved. I've not only had so much difficult in trying to start/post a "thread" (hell, most of the time I can't even find the "icon" to tik), once I login, I have one hell of a time even finding/getting into this subforum. I'm not getting/receiving responses to my questions. Clearly, there was no one devoting "'special" attention/service" to this forum as stated in the introduction. IF I find where to unsubscribe I will certainly do so. TO THE DEVELOPERS OF THIS FORUM: You and this supposed forum are a sad joke and a complete waste of time and space.!!!!!
Is anyone currently working on a G870A OF2/3 root?
I know this question has been asked a lot around here in the past year, but they all dead end with useless information. So, I'm asking again on the 14th of December 2015; Is there anyone working on a root for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (SM-G870A) after the of2/3 ota update. Also, I've seen a lot of answers to the question of weather my device can be downgraded and they've been all over the place. I'm sorry if there is a bit of repetition but there has been too much confusion on this subject and I'm looking for clarification. If I've broken any rules without realizing then please let me know. Thanks.
EDIT: With a little more research I was able to clear up my second question, but my first still stands: Is anyone working on a root for the SM-G870A and can you point me in the direction of a blog so I'm not hanging so far off the edge of my seat waiting for it.
Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, and new to all of this, so please forgive my ineptness and general cluelessness.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (AT&T version) model SM-G870A. It was running 5.1.1 but was rooted. It also had debugging checked.
I was getting really irritated with all the bloatware that was installed by Samsung and AT&T because I hated opening my apps drawer and having to wade through panel after panel of useless apps. Not only this, but they ate up far too much of the space and resources on my device. And, just out of principal, the phone belongs to me. I paid cash for it, I don't have any kind of contract with AT&T, so why should they force me to have all their useless junk on my phone?
At first, I would have been happy just debloating it. So I used Dr.Fone to root it, and then I attempted to get rid of all the unwanted apps using Debloater by Gatesjunior. Long story short, I've now managed to get my phone into bootloop. Since then I've tried the different solutions recommended on XDA and nothing has worked so far for me.
At this point, I'd prefer just to be able to flash a custom rom for my phone, but honestly, if I can't do this I would be happy just to go back to where I was before this whole ordeal started... me with a functioning phone (albeit, full of useless bloatware). It would be horrible to admit defeat to AT&T, but I just want a working phone now
Any advice?
Thanks.
Bump.
Nobody? The post has gotten 59 views so far. I mean, I know it's not a hot new model S8, but can nobody point me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it as this is the only phone I have, I like it despite all the bloatware it had, and I can't afford another. Or is it only worth throwing in the bottom of some drawer to collect dust?
Thanks.
111 views now and still no suggestions or advice. Seems there are loads of helpful people replying to other requests for help. I'm not sure what's different about this.
Read read read .... There is currently NO root method for the active this is stated over and over on this forum . You should be able to use Odin and flash a stock non rooted firmware ....again there are several posts and threads explaining this in detail ....good luck .... Do some searching and reading before making posts whining about no one helping you ....
I did read read read as you say. I did lots of searching, lots of reading, and tried lots of the suggestions (including flashing factory firmware with Odin) and nothing's worked. I also said in my original post that I'm not a phone enthusiast, I don't know anything about this stuff. I thought the point to the site was that there were advanced users and developers who wouldn't mind helping out the clueless. But no, everything I've read is quite cryptic in its terminology as to be basically opaque to most but it's spoke of in a way that's clearly meant for an audience with a similar knowledge base. I mean, I just wanted all the extra crap off my phone, I wasn't hoping to hack it into The Superphone, I got in over my head, and I realize I should have just left it alone. Don't open a watch unless your job is fixing watches. I understand that this is a site supported mostly by niche enthusiasts. Phones are your fun (which I don't get, but to each their own, mine is cameras and bicycles, so I understand having a passion other people don't get) but to most people phones are just something they have. If you're knowledgeable about this stuff, then I get why you might not understand why it's confusing to people like me.
In short, thanks for nothing.
P.S. - It IS rootable. I rooted mine. It is rooted right now. It's rootable using Dr.Phone. I mentioned this, so why don't you read? I could go on and on about the lame traits of users of niche interest sites (including photographers and cyclists, they can be so irritating) one being that of false authority... but why bother when I'll just receive another boring snide response (another lame trait of some enthusiasts which they seem to get no end of satisfaction from "Umm, there's this thing called the search function... duh".)
Lol enjoy your junk phone ...
Yeah, that's about what I expected. Thanks for proving my point. Enjoy your lame hobby.
Hello!
I've been coming to XDA for a few years now for the terrific information on rooting various Android devices... I really appreciate the great information in these forums.
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I just made an account for the first time in order to ask a question about recovering from a bootlooped tablet without losing data... My luck ran out (or I screwed up somehow) and I had an update failure. I posted my question in the appropriate forum, and if I get a working solution, I'll make sure to update with any details so others can also benefit!
Be well,
Lisa
