[Q] MIUI v5 or v6 rom for Z3c - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there! I'm just re-buying this phone because of the method to re-activate the features lost during the UL process also mantaining root.
Do you think there is any chance to port some MIUI v5 or v6 rom for this awesome phone?
In Z1 compact room there is a working version, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/d5503-miui-v5-t2866321
It would be fantastic for MIUI fans like me!

I'm not a developer, but I really want to make this porting.
So, if someone wants it, feel free to help me in this work.
We can start from the working Z1c porting.
Basically those phones are equal, except for the snap 801 instead of the snap 800 and some other little stuff.

I'm MIUI fan too.
I tried to port Z1C MIUI rom. Unsuccessfully. I don't have enough knowledge.

it's always a try!
I'm looking for this:

do you think it is possible?

Any variants are possible.

may not be a short period of time i think

I know, but if you think that the porting for Z2 is already done it's just time to pack a patch to change the little hw differences between Z2 and Z3c. Just res, so dpi in systemUI and some other stuff like the cpu clock speed.
An user, @Lorenzoval , has made a patch to port original Z1 miui to Z1 compact. I tried it, some months ago, and it worked fine.
I need just to learn how to do this.

I don't own this device so I can't help a lot.
I think porting from Z2 will be easier than from Z1C so I suggest you to download Z2 MIUI ROM from MIUI site.
You can try to replace boot.img (or kernel.elf), system/lib/modules, system/etc/acdbdata, system/etc/firmware and system/vendor/camera with the ones from Z3C stock ROM. Also you might have to add libcammw.so in system/lib.
If the ROM from Z2 is not working on locked bootloaders you can try to add an init.d script (called 00shelld) like this:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
/system/xbin/shelld &
or to diff MIUI ramdisk with a stock one and to change the ramdisk of your phone. You also have to change your build.prop to be more suitable for a MIUI ROM and then you have to replace it. Note that if you add new files to a flashable.zip you also have to edit updater-script in order to set right permissions. MIUI market is considered warez because from this app you can download paid software for free so if you want to share your ROM on this forum you have to remove it.
I think that's all and I wish you can get a booting ROM.
Good Luck! :highfive:

Wish also that somebody with the right competences can port a miui rom to the z3c

I have no more my phone for a while, because of the warranty (problem with battery).
But however i'll try to make this rom.

I have little idea. Need to ask Chinese authors of Z's MIUI roms. They named EXR group.

[Unlocked Bootloader][4.3][ROM] Tweaked 569 Stock Rom With AOSP Feel V3 [Jan18]

This is a tweaked versions of 10.4.B.0.569 Official ROM. As it includes a Kernel with Philz Touch CWM the Bootloader needs to be unlocked.
Changes Made:
Fully Deodexed/Busybox/Rooted. To odexed rom flash this.
Added Nova launcher, AOSP Keyboard and AOSP Browser to give the ROM a more AOSP feel. (Sony Launcher and Keyboard still included.)
Xposed & GravityBox included to help get a AOSP look.
Replaced the default kernel with [Yuga][.569 Stock kernel][UB][CWM Advanced Edition][PhilZ Touch] by shoey63.
Added BeatsAudio and ViPER4Android.
Modified Adobe Flash 11.1 with Hulu support.
Host level ad blocking.
Kick Ass Kernelizer
Auto-zipalign and defragdb on boot
Auto Calibration on boot.
Plus many improvements taken from this thread.
I also added some terminal commands.
Run each command with SU first then the command.
fixfc - Fix apps force closing.
sclean - Clean the dalvik cache and cache partition
Know bugs
On first boot the phone will freeze and reboot. When it reboots you will see an error image then the screen will go black. Don't worry, it is booting but you won't be able to see the bootup animation. This will only happen once and will boot normally afterwards.
V4A XHiFi will only work with the Walkman app when you select "FX Compatible Mode" in the options. For any other music players select "Normal" in the FX Compatible Mode settings menu. Can take up to 5secs before it kicks in.
In Philz Touch CWM go to "PhilZ Settings" and turn off "Verify Root on Exit". This will prevent Busybox from getting deleted. If you didn't do this and Busybox got deleted the version you want to install is V1.20, not the latest version. The latest version doesn't work with the Flashhex script I included.
Any more issues please report them.

Um, since you added nova launcher, did you remove the main xperia launcher?
If you didn't remove it, would it be better if I were to freeze the launcher myself using titanium backup? Cause having two launcher would significantly drain the battery life.
Do I have to install the supercharger script upon the first boot via terminal emulator or will it automatically install?
Also, did you tweak the build.prop to smoothness & battery saving or should I do it myself? #edit: opps sorry, i missed out ur last point. lol

Not a lot of feedback on this ROM. Thought I would of got a few comments by now. Pretty new to the Xperia Z Development but find it hard to believe it's this dead. The Nook HD+ forum seems to be more active and has less users..

Nah, its just that people in Xperia Z is relatively slow to changes. People in this forum would rather stick with development that has great amount of views, replies and so on. e.g: look at existen, within few hours theres a page of comment. Also, unless you provide a fancy features with great screenshot, they don't feel like giving a shot at all. But if I must say, our development is pretty much dead compare to others.
Ok, if you want some feedback...
I think people are enjoying the official 4.3 by Sony, and I cannot see enough improvements in your rom, but instead it has some drawbacks like being deodexed, beatsaudio, which is not for everyone, and some bloatware here and there. Why flash a new rom when I could manually install the 2 or 3 things I like?
Also, aosp looking roms don't have much success here, if we'd like it we would have bought a cheap nexus phone. There is a thread about Android UI vs Sony UI, and most people don't give a sh** about pure Android.
No offense, just an opinion.

I though this too, but then I realised this is for unlocked bootloader only.
At least to me, the script included in this rom is something new. In fact, I see it as improvement.
Would suggest to other who tried to rom to freeze the xperia home launcher (if they prefer AOSP look) to save some battery juice though.
If its too bloated, go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2350442
Otherwise if you have the knowledge, just remove bloated apps yourself.

The problem is that, the script will only work with certain version of busybox which the kernel (shoey63) provided. In fact, to flash the custom kernel you have to unlocked your bootloader.
Also, from what I've seen, the script does not WORK fully (maybe partly) as the script is used to optimize old phones with single/duo-core specs. With our Xperia Z specification, the script practically did a little or less. Other than that, the rom does provide as to what it claimed.
I may be wrong, i'm not entirely sure.

This should work with locked bootloaders. It will come up with an error at the end of the install when it trys to install the kernel.
All you need to do is flash the ROM then use Flashtool to flash 'C6603_10.4.B.0.569_Stripped.ftf
http://d-h.st/SLc
I haven't tested this but I can't see no reason why it wouldn't work as long as you flash a 10.4.B.0.569 kernel with Flashtool.
Updated ROM.
Limks up and working.

[ROM] mirek190 rom v1 - N-8010 ( N8010XXUDNG1 - July )

Hi all
I made my first rom for android ever ( earlier I was cooking for windows mobile )
At the moment looks like stock rom but is faster and I removed some unnecessary apps.
This is a first version and in the future I change more things.
FEATURES ROM :
- zipaligned
- deodexed
- rooted
- ini.d support
- KNOX free
https://mega.co.nz/#!ZxIzBRII!dFDgaXcgBlx800H8ugxbdoMlWo0Mk9GflDksHUf8e-c
ENJOY.
Well done , hopefully this will gain some traction , look forward to loading it, I have been patiently waiting for someone to push an 8010 kitkat rooted rom
Many thanks
Will give it a try when I´m back from my holdiays.
I was able to get it to boot on my n8013, but the WiFi didn't work until I flashed the n8000 leaked boot-loader. I will test it out throughout the day and let you know if I run into any issues.
The rom is designated for n8010 but you can try ☺on n8013.

So far this ROM runs very smooth with no crashes. With Gnabo ROM, the battery level went quickly throughout the day on my n8013, but since this one is a n8010 base, it probably skips all the mobile network stuff in system, and the battery seems to be lasting a lot longer. Although I miss some of the tweaks Gnabo ROM had, I'm sure you have plans to possibly implement pie menu, the fancy app switcher, and a few others on down the road. Good job so far! Can't wait to see what tweaks you can make in coming versions.
Yes I have a plan to add it.
I have to decompile and rebuild a framework from this rom.
I'm not going to use ready old framework from leaked n8000 rom.
I'm was testing rom for few days and everything works great.
Today I'm starting implrmetation a pie feature and I don't know how long it takes.
For me, I have never used pie control so not sure it would be something I would use. I would really like to see air command implemented....
I have thought about trying to make a rom myself as there are not enough devs for our n8010's but wouldn't have a clue where to start lol.
Good luck and I'll follow this thread with hope......
If you need anyone to do any testing etc I'm willing to try.....
To tell you the truth to make a rom is easier than I thougt.
On WM was more difficult.
Still I have to learn how to implement features to framework...because I don't want copy features with old framework from leaked n8000 rom...I want to use new framework.
I had a lot problems with old framework ( from n8000 ) - was so slow for my n8010 and battery drain as well.
To open apps I had to wait a few seconds like hangouts ( even changing conversation in the hangout was taking a few seconds) on Internet browser was the same and other apps as well.
On new framework works really fast.
Just some new implementations and shoild be fine ☺

OP,
Thanks for this rom. I was searching for a deodexed stock rom.
Would you kindly share the apps you left out of this rom, and possibly put them in a flashable zip or just a zip to extract, provided the apps are deodexed?
Looking forward to flashing your rom.
Thank you for your work my friend. Can you specify more information about the rom please?

[ROM][KK][LB,UB][.230] eXistenZ Ultimate | 1.5.5 | Light & Dark | AROMA (Port)

Hi ZR's users!
I make a personal port of eXistenZ Ultimate for my ZR. I asked to niaboc79 (dev of eXistenZ for Xperia Z) if I can publish my port for you and he refused.
So it's a bad news.
BUT, I found a port of eXistenZ Ultimate on a russian website. So I share with you all the links!
So I can not be punished for publishing this port since it was not me who did it. I just share the links, it's Android community spirit, no?
I don't give a damn to have eXistenZ on my ZR. My bootloader is unlocked and I prefer widely ROMs like CM11 based ROMs. So, it's just solidarity for ZR's user that almost didn't have any stock based ROM with this low activity device.
Since it's not my job, I release any responsibility about this port. I haven't test the ROM because I'm on CM11. So try the ROM and post your feedbacks for other ZR's users.
The merit of the work returns to the person who made the port, niaboc79 and others people thanked in niaboc79's thread. I don't know exactly who port the ROM.
Concerning the installation process and ROM presentation, read it on the Z eXistenZ thread of niaboc79.
/!\ In AROMA, concerning audio, you have to select default mod otherwise headphones will not work. (It's what I have understood from russian text.)
So, the links.

You have to flash 1.0.0 then the OTA 1.5.5.
To make clean install you have to wipe your data before flash 1.0.0. Otherwise you must have bugs. Don't forget to make your bakup before wipe data.

You must have the line "ro.sf.lcd_density=" but with the russian traduction I don't understand if the line is already set to 320 or if we have to set it after flash.
The port is a port of eXistenZ for the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z has 1080p screen so it has "ro.sf.lcd_density=480".
So I'm not sure but you can check if you have 320 or 480 in build.prop.
Are you sure that you don't have the "ro.sf.lcd_density=" line in your build.prop?
Flashed rom on top of existenz v1 and got into bootloop

Hi,
Working fine on my LBL SP.
Fast, smooth, and what a ROM should be.
Just a few things you might be able to help me with.
Charge light never goes out at 100%, stays green all the time.
Any way to change that?
Getting "Optimising Applications" at every reboot.
I've cleared Dalvik and rebooted, but it keeps happening.
What can I check?
Thanks for a great ROM.

However I can look into this and if I find anything I will report back.
Your optimising on every boot issue is caused by Gapps - remove it and reinstall another version

Yes you can use it every day and please find attached the extra files you need to make it work in the Italian language
You need to drag and drop the attached files in these locations
system/tts/lang_pico/
system/usr/xperia_keyboard_dictionaries/
(DO NOT delete any files already in these locations in the Rom)
(The attached is NOT a flashable zip)
Please ignore any DS_store files in the .zip - I work on a mac and these are hidden storage mac specific system files - you DO NOT need these
I read in the main thread that there is only English, instead I saw that there are all the languages. Thanks anyway! I'm still testing the rom and negative I found that I did not synchronize Google's conctat.

It is english by default as I removed all other languages packs that effect the keyboard and dictionaries, the first boot menu will default to showing a list of ALL languages....
The keyboard and dictionary will only function in English unless you apply the files I supplied above this will give you FULL Italian as well as english!
For google sync to work you need to install Gapps mentioned in the second post in the main thread

This Rom was only meant for C5303 devices as mentioned in the main thread first post
No idea why wondershare isn't working and I cannot offer support for third party apps sorry
I can fix xperia backup software place the attached files in the app folder and reboot
system backup will start working again (the attached is Not flashable you will have to add them to the ROM manually)
Accident and missing
I accidently installed c5303 rom into my c5302 .Does it make any problem?
My NFC option is missing, stock widgets too.
In lock screen the clock is not in middle
Now i m not able to goto recovery mode. What might be t he problem

Flash the kernel that came with the rom with flashtool
then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57345781&postcount=106 to install the NFC stuff and that should sort out your issues
The lock screen is possible an issue with miui - go to apps and delete the mihome launcher
Sony's apps update.
Thank you for such a wonderful ROM!
I tried your ROM and only have one question: How can I update Sony's apps such as Walkman, Album, Movie,... when the Update app was removed?

Will be reinstating the update centre app in the next release in the meantime please use the following
install the update centre app from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57701992&postcount=116 (ignore the app link)
then you can install these updates here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57718814&postcount=117

First I must say that this is the fastest stock I have ever seen. Thank for the great work!
%99 percent of your "bloatware removal list" is perfectly fit for usual XSP owners. And a few changes can be made on this list as you said "to be done in V3".
And I have suggestions before releasing your "mighty V3"
After numerous clean installs of your v2 over stock original .205 with Locked Bootloader;
1- I could never overcome the "optimising applicaitons on every boot" issue. Tried 3 different GApps mentioned in the original posts. If I am not wrong -without GApps installation- after update of Google Play Store and Services there is no problem. But when I install GApps and there is an updated GApp in them (no matter before or after gapps installation) every boot takes time. May be a permissions issue but you are the master
2- I got better superuser interactions with both 2.40 supersu binary and app
3- As you know SONY apps like Walkman, Album, Movies etc are sexy and most of Xperia users love them. According to SONY's strangely good update frequency of these apps makes me think that "Sony Update Center is required" in V3.
4- I tried both activating ant not activating mi home, cleaning data of mihome and xperia home apps, uninstalling, all the things possible... No chance to fix clock orientation in Xperia Lockscreen.
5- I think with such a smooth rom we guys will choose Xperia Homescreen. Mi Home can be removed. There are CM roms there to fantasy
6- As this roms "fitness" helps about battery life, you can also add your features like MPDecision thing etc. to make this rom legendary about battery. Underclocking also helps as you do and what about no frills classic pre installed or buried in setting?
7- I'm confused after tons of flashing zips and I may be wrong but after a clean install for locked bootloaders
7a- If phone is not rooted pre installed towelroot would be good because I dont want to find a way to get a file explorer to find apk and install it. Or pre installed ES File Explorer would also be good, as I think every one has it.
7b- If phone doesn't have recoveries recevory zip installation can also be added to installation instructions, may be supersu.zip too.
8- I don't know if there are differences but most of guys would prefers US English than Australian English
9- Of course not all GApps but I thing %95 of Sony Stock users use Google Contacts sync. Apps, app datas, maps, google+ etc etc all they are optional but contacts sync is a must. Needed in V3
10- Exchange capabilities are must for email I think. You can put it in or make it an addon.
11- There are so many guys out there can not deactivate their facebook accounts just to remember the birthdays of friends. And there is no wonderful way to sync facebook calendar to phone calendar on play store like Sony's own app. This is also needed I think...
12- Only one ringtone of original Xperia ringtones...
13- I know you have thought may be all of these but I will be happy whether even only one of these would help to make your rom better.
I am installing stock .205 now and I will use it till mighty V3 of you released
I am a volunteer for testing on LBL too. Good luck.

Sure no problem
You need to drag and drop the attached files into these locations in the ROM
system/tts/lang_pico/
system/usr/xperia_keyboard_dictionaries/
(DO NOT delete any files already in these locations)
(The attached is NOT a flashable zip)
Please ignore any DS_store files in the .zip - I work on a mac and these are mac specific system files
Hi alls,
About installation, no problems. Maybe i missread the Op, i flash SuperSu (v2.40), i don't realize you even use Super user, but no probeme, i can diseable it very easy and NO problem with root. (thank for the french language on the very first boot)
About your rom : You'r a Champion: Stable , Fast, good battery,....only what i need....(i'm on LBL and use Performance Controle apk, the only "feature" that i need to control your rom)
About a probably Slim rom V3, if you can give us more battery, you are a GENIUS!!!:highfive:
Many thanks for your work
Hi,
Many thanks for your hard work, neil
I don't like CPU Frills, i prefer Performance Control for LBL( there's already MP Decision) and many other things you can control: GPU, RAM management, you can freeze some applications,...., it's more complete.
BTW, can i uninstall, the "new"applications you wrote in the OP (V3)? Because i never use NFC, update SONY, etc, etc.
Regards

YES you can uninstall, the "new"applications" listed in (V3)
If you want to use "performance controller" app just rename MPDecision.old to MPDecision in system/bin and reboot
That will reinstate Sony stock settings and allow you to use the "performance controller" app fully, hopefully!

[GUIDE] How to install s7/n7 port roms on note 4 SM-N910S/L/K

I recently bought a note 4 and it turned out to be a n910s. There arent many 910s devs around so i decided to look around on how to boot these roms on our device. These are my findings and i present it as a guide so that other n910s users can benefit from this too.
All credits go to the original devs of the roms/kernels
I will not be responsible for a bricked or broken devices
These are the same exact steps thats i did, if you follow them in that particular manner youll have a new rom on your device in no time
HOW TO INSTALL S7 ROM ON N910S
To my knowledge the only s7 rom that boots up on the n910s is the DN5 rom. Here are the steps to do so
1.Download DN5 rom from the E-Team website http://electron-team.com/sm-n910c-2/
2.Download the latest firmware for the n910s from sammobile https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910S/
3.Extract the downloaded firmware file two times until you get the modem,boot,cache... files
4.Open downloaded DN5 rom (Default opens with Winrar)
5.Drag the boot.img file from the samsung official firmware and add and replace it in "eteam" folder of DN5
6. Do the same for the modem.bin (You'll have to flash bootloader manually)
7. Copy the modified DN5 folder to your devices internal storage or external sd card.
8. Flash rom, manually flash bootloader through odin and it'll boot
ENJOY THE FLAVORS OF THE S7
It takes about 10-15 minutes to boot
To save battery on the s7 rom use Grennify and Force Doze
Unfortunately there is no script to debloat s7 roms automatically. You'll have to manually download a system app remover from the play store grant root access and then uninstall or disable system apps.
ALSO ON THE N910S WHEN YOU GO TO MAKE A CALL THERE IS A STATIC NOISE (THIS HAPPENS ON BOTH THE S7 AND N7 ROMS) TO FIX THIS FLASH THE FILE BELOW IN RECOVERY all credits go to @tanthuychivietnam on making this fix
https://mega.nz/#!ohUmHJJL!FQB-6Ejt4KmmdICNfgbXPQ7CqBzE5xIGGqW8XQ06Qgg
HOW TO INSTALL N7 ROM ON N910S
To my knowledge every N7 port rom i've tried to boot up with this method has worked and this the easiest method out of the 2
1.Download your N7 port rom of choice
2.Download prime kernel. If you dont have prime kernel send an email to [email protected] and an automated email will give you the links to the kernel
3.move kernel and rom to internal storage/external sd card
4. flash rom and then kernel
5. DONT REEBOT, flash latest modem and bootloader and youre done
YOUR N4 IS NOW A N7*YAY**RIP N7*
Battery drain is quite significant on all N7 ports because samsung didnt update the software any further *we all know why* and also there maybe heating issues. If anyone does have a heating problem just delete system/bin/debug_interface_proxy Of course this differs from user to user depending on their usage and their preference of the rom
There is a debloat script available for debloating the N7 ill link it down below. credits go to @Near_07 on making this excellent script
DEBLOAT ALL N7 ROMS - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69891651&postcount=8829
To save battery on N7 roms use Greenify and force Doze as mentioned above and also go to Samsung under "Accounts" and disable all sync This is the main reason your phone stays awake even while the screen if off and it drains a lot of battery. Also try disabling "Enable Fast Charging" under the battery section, this too might help
In my opinion PIROBOT v6 is the best and most stable n7 port for the n910s right now, again this is my opinion and it may differ from user to user
These are the steps i followed to get DN5 S7 and any N7 rom to boot up on the N910s. Hope these steps can help you guys too. If it did all i ask for is a thanks, don't worry its free
If i forgot to credit any devs for their amazing work or if you want any edits drop me a pm and ill add/edit your name/work
Finally this is none of my work, just a guide, shoutout to all those amazing devs out there who make all this happen

Thank you for your help. My phone is n916k , a korean note 4 like yours. I flashed dn7 rom on it and it's working well except for the lockscreen security, pin, pattern and password don't work on mine , I don't know why, in can input the password, pin or pattern on lockscreen security setting but when I want to unlock the phone, none of them work. Fortunately i only have to flash Dr. ketan lockscreen security bypass v1.1 to delete the lockscreen security And get back my phone working without reflash the all rom. And about the heating problem, I don't have it anymore. A nice guy told me to delete system/bin/debug_interface_proxy and it worked, up to now no heating anymore.
If you have a fix for this lockscreen problem, please could you share with us. Thanks

I didnt experience any of the lock screen problems when i flashed dn7. Thanks for the heads up on the heating problem ill look into it. Have you tried using a third party lockscreen app. If not i suggest you switch roms. DN7 is not that good with the prime kernel. Im on pirobot v6 which is also a note 7 port and i get excellent battery life with the kernel plus there are no lockscreen issues either

Hi @vishudha98, I flashed pirobot rom v6 for n910c on my n916k, up to now everything is working fine, no heating, no laggy, deep sleep very good too. Only Samsung keyboard fcs, do you know if there is a fix for that ? On google plus I found 3 fixs and flashed them but they didn't solve Samsung keyboard problem. Actually I use another keyboard, it's working well but if possible I would like to have Samsung keyboard working.
Anyway thank you so much for pointing me to use this wonderful rom, I really like it. And by the way, the link on the OP for call noise fix for n910s doesn't work, please do you know if there is a call noise fix for n916k inside this file?

Of course I did. I also checked the zip file and found that for each device inside system/etc there is only one file libsec-ril.so and I think that's not enough to fix call noise problem because I found another fix, darklord fix and it's the same as truongtan's fix and both don't work on my device. I also looked inside Dr. Ketan's fix call Noise for note 5 Korean and inside lib there are more than one file. Maybe only libsec-ril.so isn't enough.
Anyway thanks for all.
