Hi guys, i have a fast question. With Sony's default app can I move a contact from Local to Google in a faster way then copying the data and create a new one? Thanks.

Hi everybody,
I was able to export all my outlook contacts into a csv file and then upload it to google so that i could sync my captivate.
It worked great!
the only thing that i'm having a problem with, is that since they're considered google contacts, it won't let me assign a ringtone to them or even separate my contacts into groups.
Now i know third party apps let me assign ringtones, but its kind of annoying that i'm more limited on options when they're google contacts and not contacts saved either on the SIM or on the phone's memory itself.
Does anyone know a way around this? i've tried playing around with the menus, but there's no option to just save them to the phone.
ok, so after playing around for the last hour or so, i've figured out the answer to my own question.
i exported the .vcf file from gmail, then imported it into the phone and that did the trick!
I am looking for a calendar app that will allow a 2nd user to access their own Google calendar, that is separate from mine. Most apps I have tried will not allow this. Any ideas?
Boy, a separate log-on would be really nice.....
Thanks,
Steve
Hello fellow XDA users!
I'm considering upgrade from GB to ICS. My only concern is related to my contacts. For some reasons I prefer not to store them on google. My question is how to transfer my current contacts from Samsung app to ICS contacts app? Do ICS supports storing contacts in phone or I have to sync them with google? If I export my current contact list to vCard (vcf) can I import it later in ICS? I would like to keep all additional information like emails, photos, companies etc.
You still can keep your contacts local. But the birthdays of your contacts are not shown by calendar apps anymore (except Calengoo) because there seems to be no local calendar DB on the phone. Calengoo has a workaround for this.
ICS supports importing contacts from a vcf file. (not sure how much info vcf stores, since I don't attach photos to my contacts)
I have 450 .vcf files, which i transferred through Bluetooth, from Nokia to Galaxy S Plus (CM9 ROM).
If i select one contact at a time to import, it works.
I i choose import all, it shows a message box saying "caching to local temporary storage, actual transfer will start shortly".
It doesn't do any thing ... even after a long time....
:crying:
On gingerbread, just transferring through Bluetooth would add the .VCF to contact list.
I selected 25 - 30 vcf at a time, then its able to add them to contacts.
I went alphabetically, first imported all A, then B..... till Z.
Was a tedious job.
Actual problem was that Contacts app does not like few VCF files, and stops transfer if one bad VCF gets selected.
I don't see a good future for new Contacts app in ICS.
use your sim card

There used to be this option to store all contacts to Google by default on the stock Gingerbread for Galaxy Ace but it seems gone when I flashed to CM7-APOCALYPSE-FINAL.
Every time I add a new contact it asks me to choose where to save to Google or not.
Is there a way to fix this? Also, can I replace the default Contacts app of CM7-APOCALYPSE-FINAL with Stock. If yes how where do I get a copy of the stock Contacts app?
Hello,
First, excuse my english, its not my native language. Thank you.
I used my HTC One with Cyanogenmod 4.2, recently there was a update to Android 4.3
After updating i lost my google apps as supposed since they are made for Android 4.2. This was my opportunity to get rid of google, so i installed K9Mail with Fdroid and imported my contacts with a .VCF file. Worked well.
I have just one mayor problem, I can't add new contacts to the phone. My phone app always want to add a new concact to my exchange account and i cant change it to anything else. I want to add new contacts to the phone itself, without any accounts like whatsapp/exchange/google...
Second problem that occurred: I can`t edit the contacts from the recently imported .VCF file, my Datamanager hang up every time when i want to add some Details.
Do you guys have an idea how I can add contacts to my phone?
Greetings Nox
