[Q] Xperia SP Protoype

Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum and to be honest I am an Android virgin. I managed to get hold of an Xperia SP C5303 but it is a prototype and clearly states on the label at the back under the cover that is not for sale. It is a very nice phone but I am not sure if I want to keep it or not. My question is is it worth to try and sell it, is it worth anything at all to anyone (a developer maybe), does it have any extra apps etc. which other SP's don't? I can give more info on the phone if anyone interested. Thanks

[help]water damaged xperia z

help plz.. i have a xperia Z.. one day i was coming home. and it started raining havily..
i get back home ASAP.. when i checked my phone.. it has water in the rear camera lenses.. i kept my phone aside for 5 hours.. after that i tried to switch it on.. bt it doesnt respond.. i went to the sercive center ... after 2 days of checking they told me that it will take 80% of mobile cost to repair... and because sony mobiles donot give the warranty for water damaging.. i have to manage all the expenses.. i dont have that much money.. i bought it for 36k 2 months earlier.. :'( :'( .. what should i do now.. can anyone suggest something???

did you find out from where the water entered the mobile? i suspect like most of the cases, it had entered from behind where the back glass was loose due to heating issues.
If you have the device with you can you check if the back plate is loose?

Wow insane! Sony should fix it on warranty! Get in touch with Sony head office in your country. Post it on Facebook. If the white markers are white and u still got the water then surely they have to fix it!

no.. white marks are red now.. as per service center guy.. bt the phone is 80% damaged .. so maybe it can also get in from back side.. i dont know.. :'(

1- open all port ( like SDcard-Sim-3,5mm-Usb-) all
2- rotate your Z upside down (3,5mm in bottom) :silly:
3- blow up into 3,5mm port
4- some water should be out in your Z
5- Enter your Z to bag contains rice
6- after few days (3-5 days)
7- charge your Z if it not turned on then status i have no idea (Z need some doctors)

Xperia Z vs Xperia ZR?

Hi guys i decided to get a new phone recently and i am between the Z and the ZR
They are extremely similar with someminor differences so i thought to ask here
Which one do u recommend?
The Z has larger screen and rsolution and looks better
The zr has more battery juice and its replacable and more comfortable to hold in hand
Could u guys help me with this ever help is much appreciated

For me ZR is better + compact.

I would say the ZR is better. The specs are nearly identical but the ZR has better battery life and is more compact which is what's important to me. The only thing that would make the Z better than the ZR for some people is the screen size, but i just don't want a phone with a 5inch screen.

For me, ZR is:
*Perfect in Size
*removable battery
*the camera result better than Z (in my opinion)
*better contrast (in my opinion too)
What i dont like in Z :
*5inch is too big for me
*too much issue (i've seen so much report from Z user in forum like Screen Cracking it self, Overheating, etc)
*Non-Removable Battery+Drain so fast

Unlock bootloader?

Hey guys I just ordered my Sony Xperia Z office swap and got a sweet deal the phone is already rooted but my question is can you unlock the bootloader the gentleman who sold me the phone said that you cannot unlock the bootloader but I've seen some things on some threads about being able to do so so I was just wondering I'm new to this community and I would love to be able to put custom roms on my phone and such also I would like to know how the waterproof testing is because we're going to a water park me and my family I want to be able to take the phone in the water

Waterproof cases? What does that even mean? The phone itself is waterproof, if water breaches the case then nothing will happen to the phone.

Compatible parts
Hi, can someone help me? I buyed a digitaliser on ebay and I have replaced this fine, but the touch is very bad, very unresponsive, glove mode doesn,t work now and multitouch ******
The seller gave me the money back
Now I want to buy an ORIGINAL PART FROM SONY, not compatible parts. Where I can go to buy this?
Please help me! Now I have installed the broken glass because it works fine. I prefer the broken glass to a clean glass but unresponsive.

The Sony digitaliser contains both active and passive capacitors that's why it can have glove mode and mutitouch perhaps the digitaliser you bought only contained passive capacitors. That's the normal ones. Try a more expensive one. Also those problems could be caused by a bad connection try cleaning the connections with contact cleaner. If you want to be sure its a Sony part you may have to go to a Sony centre.

I can´t buy an original Sony part somewhere and I personally install it ? Sony is expensive to install parts

If its marked as an OEM part then it should be made by the same manufacturer as the original part so that would be your best bet. Unfortunately online it hard to be sure.

Can you explain me the meaning of these numbers on the back of the digitizer?
EDIT: It says: "8W / 13 Y KL"

Not sure probably a part number or a code to do with the manufacture

On my broken screen it says the same but "40" / "48" (i,m not sure because it,s installed yet) instead of "8" Can be a part of the region code?
The digitiser of the models C5302 / C5303 / C5306 / M35h are the same?

The xperia SP range are all identical hardware the difference is the radio baseband ie the frequencies they are capable of receiving. The C5302= 3g version C5303= global LTE/4G version and the C5306= american LTE version I would just buy an OEM digitaliser and fit that

I have found more information:
On the photo you can see how the fake glass have 3 dots on top when the original SP cristal have 2
On the picture is not appreciated but you can see how obviously the white is not the same in both, The original have a brilliant white and the fake have darker white.
When you give touches at the original cristal it feels sturdy but on the fake cristal sounds cheap

My black xperia sp has 3 sensor holes on top and I'm pretty sure that it ain't fake

My black Xperia also have 3 sensor holes.

Interesting - my white xperia SP has 2!

My white SP has 2 sensors and the camera

Interesting, What model have you using? C5303, C5302... Maybe only the black version have 3 dots and these dots on the white version indicates a fake product..
