Here's the zip of the OTA that was pushed out. It won't install through either CWM or TWRP, so can someone who's more knowledgeable in these matters make it flashable?
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/821854/OTAPkg.zip
And in case it helps, here's the log from CWM from trying to flash it manually:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/821854/recovery.log
And yes, as with any OTA, you run the risk of losing root, etc. But for me, I really don't care. I've even tried pushing the included stock recovery, but it doesn't work like this. You get a phone with an exclamation point over it (I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about) when you try to boot into that recovery. A quick push of TWRP back onto the phone fixed that error, but I still can't flash the update, obviously. Anyone want to take a crack at it?
Thanks to nuclear_eclipse for getting this and the log for us!

That symbol just means that it doesn't know what file to use for the update; this is part of what get's communicated somehow from the OS to the recovery during reboot, but I'm not familiar enough with the way recoveries work to know how to trigger that myself. I would assume this is a similar mechanism to how ROM Manager et al can tell CWM/TWRP what to flash.

That makes total sense. I guess it's not automatically checking the folder that Software Update puts it in. I've got another 22 hours until I can get Software Update to check again. I'll push the stock recovery before I do that, unless someone makes this flashable through TWRP or CWM before then.
In my stock Rom thread there are new files up. They are the ota roms. So if you are running stock, download the odex one ending in 1.08 and flash in recovery, no need to wipe data. Then pull boot.img and fastboot flash it. You now have the ota software. I will post instructions to upgrade the firmware that came with the ota

I don't know what I did, but I now get a blue screen that I can't get out of after getting the 4.4 OTA update. I rooted and installed a GPE 4.3 RUU previously with CWM and when 4.4 came along, I just didn't be careful. I cannot even get to the bootloader to do anything. Help! What do I do? Everything I try just puts me back at the blue screen.

Exact same issue, at first i couldn't get to bootloader, but after a couple attempts, you should be able to get to it... I literally did the exact same thing as you did, was it because you HTC wasn't google play edition? I flashed a custom rom for Google play 4.3 and did the O.T.A update, blue screen with pixels kind of floating around. Keep me updated
OK, I got back into bootloader (I'm an idiot and was holding down the wrong button). Just reinstalled the 4.3 file and everything was good from there.

Yeah???? I'm lost
If you have access to your bootloader, just go into recovery. From there you can install the old rom.

Lost my old rom, pretty much hooped i think
grab the RUU here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781
get to fastboot mode
then enter RUU mode with fastboot oem rebootRUU
then flash the RUU with fastboot flash zip RUUname.zip
do that command twice.
then reboot and you'll have a good clean GPE 4.4 install.

You have no one to blame for this but yourself. it's your fault your phone is screwed up and your fault you don't have a backup.
After running that RUU if you don't screw with anything and don't load a custom recovery you will be able to get future OTA updates.
I've done the OTA so far on 3 One's that I had previously converted using the 4.3 conversion RUU. none of them failed catastrophically. I had to uninstall Xposed; and mine had a custom build.prop but those were minor hiccups that were easily fixed. I'll be doing the OTA on a 4th one later today so I guess we'll see if my luck holds up..

I have back up, i got the blue screen then i went to recovery and got every thing back. The link you posted tells me how to update but they also tell me that all the mobiles memory will be erased, is there any way i can update with out erasing the memory?
no. running the RUU will wipe /data. it's unavoidable.
if you can't boot normally you'll need to pull your stuff off via ADB and save to your PC. then after running the RUU you can copy files back. I would NOT recommend restoring data from a nandroid since it doesn't sound like you had a successful conversion to 4.4 with the OTA so you'd be restoring old 4.3 data structures.

thank you
one more question, if i run the RUU and i get the 4.4 update will i get the blue screen when updating to a newer version?
why even did the blue screen in the first place? i have the build number: JWR66V.H10 and i know that it is the original GE.
you seem to be misunderstanding. the RUU is the 4.4 update. There might be slight ota updates but until 4.5 comes out there won't be another major update you'd install.
you flashed an ota update from a custom recovery Don't do that!
that should be JWR66Y.h10! you missed an update in between. not sure how the update ran at all with the wrong build. your recovery must not have been enforcing requirements.

i have just found out what may be the problem, s-on
i have tried to change it before but there was nothing for hboot1.54.
i tried Rumrunner, at first it gave me error but after installing the HTC drive twice it appeared to be working.
sadly it reaches a point after 2 fast boots then tells me: FATAL
I don't know what to do.
Hi.
I have just bought a used HTC One running Android 4.1.2. It say there's an update available (2.24.401) which will bring it to 4.2.2 but I have trouble installing it.
The problem might be that the phone is already rooted and has TWRP installed. I have only very little experience with rooting and recovery tools
Anyway ... what happens is that I tell it to update and it restarts the phone. Instead of just rebooting it then enters TWRP and from then on I'm lost. I can get TWRP to reboot as system but after doing so the update is still not installed.
Is there anything I can do to get the update installed ?

As I implied I have little understanding of such matter You mean restore current version and break root ? As far as I know the device has just been rooted TWRP installed - no mod or anything other than the official updates seems to have been installed.
I would not mind installing the 4.2.2 manually but I'm not sure I could find the right file anywhere....
What is your current base? I.E. 1.29.xx.xx? What is it exactly? I mean, replace TWRP with the stock android recovery, which will allow the OTA to be installed.

I'll have to find out how to get stock android recovery I guess although I suspect it will not be easy.......
On the contrary, its very easy. Just download this: https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&s...eHtxo9aWWRhxLSSVA&sig2=hY-Jn2jnmzlavxWhe71R2g
And flash in fastboot.. Look around for guides to flash recoveries.

I then unplugget USB cable and pressed all buttons (that's what I do when panicking) and luckily the phone reeboted normally
Also it seems lige the update is installing nicely So THANK YOU !
You're welcome!

One of the benefits to being s-off is you don't have to take the OTA...you just flash the firmware and done.

i did that and then i was unable to take profile or prl updates :crying: it also didnt apear to have fixed the signal issue... i might not have waited enough... or it could have something to do with the unability to take prl and profile updates... anyhow ill try again from a diferent download see what happens
Did your baseband change? last four should be .0610.
If it did change then it's most likely a network issue.

Yes the baseband did change but the signal problem persists. i need to take the FULL ota to fix my phone (or install something else that will) regardless the radios alone aren't fixing the issue.
i tried flashing the rafios by themselves and it wouldnt update prl or profile; it also had the same signal issue. i tried the radios AND the new stock rom for it and same thing. i tried going back to stock and taking the ota and the ota wouldnt install.
Thoughs?
I'm the same root/s-off. I flash the h/k sound file did you find a way to install the latest ota update?
I cant figure out how to get the OTA either
I have S-Off im also rooted, and i have TWRP recovery, i can't get the zip to flash. I was thinking about doing a stock root recovery using the RUU, but then i thought if i do that, would i still be able to reroot using the same method? so my question is, how can i flash this zip and keep my root? or should do a stock recovery from the RUU and update and wait for another root? if any devs read this, i'd really like your help please and thank you. I currently have the stock rom with just root access and S-Off.no custom roms on here.
man.. i have the same problem bro.. smh.. hey man keep me posted if something comes up

You have to have stock recovery to take the update, which means you have to flash stock recovery first and then take the update, then repeat the rooting process.

you should at least have seen a green arrow circle and/or a red triangle with a "!" in the middle. if you saw the triangle that is recovery trying and failing to update. at this point if you press and releast volumeup+power it should bring up the text of what it did.

I'm looking at the MikMik one, and I am just not sure if this will erase all my apps and settings. Do I need to use a backup app or should I be ok flashing this and keeping all my apps and settings?
I rooted my phone couple months ago, and few days ago, I began to received system updates notification of the 6.10.531.10 version update, it was annoying, and the notification cannot be turned off, so i tried to install, but result came out as expected, didn't work.
So I downloaded the cyanogenmod 10.2.1 stable version, and flashed it via custom recovery, everything went smoothly except stuck in the spinning logo boot up page. So that left me no choice, and i'm now back to my old rom that i backed up before flashing.
Any advice for how to get the new updates or stop the annoying notification ? or how do I flash to a OTA custom rom so i dont have to worry about updates anymore ? Did i miss any step ?
btw, i unlocked my phone via HTC dev Unlock.
Many thanks !

You need stock recovery to flash the OTA, not custom recovery
If you want to flash the OTA you must flash the recovery matching your firmware
so if i wanna flash Cyanogenmod 11 for instance, i have to get another recovery as well ?
