[Q] Possible to enable native tethering on stock rooted 5.02? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hi, I took the OTA 6.16.651.2 upgrade and re-rooted so now I'm on stock 5.02 with S-OFF, TWRP, and root. I froze the Tetherguard apk and all of the built in tethering options (wifi, usb, and bluetooth) will start without any warnings, but I can't connect to any of them.
Has anyone got these working on stock yet? Or is it even possible? Should I just flash a custom rom to get tethering?
Any suggestions appreciated.

[Q] Best way to get from Safestrap to stock?

I'm currently on a rooted version of 4.4.2 via Safestrap. I want to use Sunshine to unlock my bootloader then get onto 4.4.4. What's the best way to go about that? I know how to flash a recovery and I consider myself an advanced user. I just don't know how to handle Safestrap switching to non-safestrap.
Personally, I'd back what you want to keep up to your pc, and use rsdlite to flash stock 4.4.2 completely. That should get rid of anything that's been done.
Other than that, I'm not sure what other options there are, I never used safestrap.
I'm guessing you're on republic wireless. I'm in the same situation where I'm considering buying sunshine. I don't know if I'd bother flashing back to stock until a new version of android is available or if I want a custom rom.
I'm on 4.4 and safestrap and used sunshine last night. I'm still using the stock ROM in the stock slot and all I did was uninstall the safestrap app and reinstall Super SU from Google Play Store. Sunshine did the rest.
Now I'd like to know where to go from here? I'm using Xposed Installer with GravityBox and I'd like to either use an OTA update to update to 4.4.4 or some stock ROM to get me there... What's the easiest, safest way to get to 4.4.4 with the ability to continue to tether (Verizon Retail version). Right now I have to use VzwEntitlementService.apk in order to tether, with this still work with 4.4.4?

Use this to restore to 100% STOCK 4.4.4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/fxz-moto-x-4-4-4-212-55-26-t2827307
Then flash TWRP, which will install supersu installer for you. Once booted into android, RUN supersu-installer, and choose "play store" method.
Then use THIS to enable tether: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/app-hotspot-entitlement-bypass-v1-1-5-9-t2705152
Now you should be stock 4.4.4, rooted, with tether/hotspot enabled.
Trying to take an OTA on a system that WAS using an exploit + safestrap can result in headaches. Best to follow above advice ^

So, in my case:
Use Sunshine even if I'm on Safestrap's stock slot, then verify the bootloader is unlocked, RSD to stock 4.4.4 (Verizon), then flash TWRP and SU?

[Q] How To Upgrade From 5.0 Unencrypted to 5.1 Without Losing Data?

So I have an unlocked and rooted Nexus 6 running the unencrypted Android 5.0. However, I'm not 100% sure how to flash the new 5.1 update without losing my root or all the data on my phone. Would anyone be able to instruct me as to how I will achieve this?
Cheers
In wugs toolkit there's an option when flashing a factory image to do a no wipe mode.

If you're running a custom recovery (recommended for rooted users) then you can flash a pre-rooted stock ROM.zip that has no forced-encryption kernel built in.

[Q] OTA Workaround?

Hello, Again.
I postes earlier today about loading tve 5.1 update on ny rooted N6 w/o a computar or adb method. I got no answer, so i assume it isnt posible.
However, since i am rooted stock 5.0.1 with TWRP recovery, i should be able to flash a custom rom without issue.
So ny question is:
If i flash a custom rom, will i be able to flash tve stock 5.1 over it and not use adb?
Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Flash tve?
I'm not sure what you're asking. To flash OTA via direct download or via adb, you must be 100% stock. No root, no custom recovery.
If you want to retain your data and get to almost any version of 5 .1 download the toolkit, select the version would like to go to, select retain userdata and go. If you need help;

I think the only caveat is the T Mobile version you have to be on stock recovery and on a particular version to take the OTA and there is no factory image for that one yet. But you could use the tool kit to get to that version then used to sideload option to force the OTA.

[D5833] Lost Root after update

Hello,
I have a z3C running lollipop (updated from PC Companion), which had KK fully rooted. After the update I've lost root and seems I canĀ“t get it back.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks!
you can't update via PC companion and retain root. you'll need to downgrade back to kit kat, root again, and then upgrade to lollipop by flashing a pre-rooted rom.
