Hello everyone. I'm currently having an issue where TWRP is unable to mount my storage. Therefore I'm unable to create back ups or flash zips.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is there a fix?
Thanx in advanced for your help.

Are you encrypted? Have you set a password in Android? IF so, are you entering that password in TWRP?

It asks for a password but I haven't knowingly set one. Only my lock pattern. Where can I find this password and change it if needed.

You need to enter the pattern on the numbers that show up..
Think of a grid of 1-9
1 - 2 - 3
4 - 5 - 6
7 - 8 - 9
(or whatever) and each number corresponds to one of the dots on your pattern lock..
SO if your pattern lock is a Capital L shape starting at the top, the numbers would be 1, 4, 7 ,8 ,9
Wow! You definitely taught me something. I'm going to give it a try! 1000 thanks!
leave it to me to set an over complicated lock pattern SMH... Gotta figure this out

According to the manual:
1. Touch Forgot pattern
2. Sign in to Google with your account name & password.

Tried that
On mine I didn't use the pattern I just used a number combo as the instead of the unlock pattern and there is no Forgot pattern[/B choice.
Help!
So i bought a second hand nexus 6 and all works fine but last night i thought i should try out a different ROM and voila :
TWRP has a password set on in by the previous user. I cant reach the seller know so simple call-him-to-ask-the-password is out of question.
How do i remove this?
Edit : Resolved. RootSU's method did the trick.
You cannot set a password in twrp. It uses the password set in android by you - because its encrypted. If you haven't set one in android, do - because you'll need it to get into twrp.
Also by the way, it works with pattern lock. esch number represents a circle on the screen when you unlock
So if the grid is
123
456
789
And your pattern is capital L, your code is
1
4
789

look at the twrp thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/orig-development/recovery-twrp-2-8-2-0-touch-recovery-t2946534 and try the default_password if you have no lockscreen pin pattern or password. follow what @rootSU said if you have one of those

Hi guys, i got a Nexus 6, bought to a friend, but i did a factory reset and now is asking me for the last account used in the device, i ask to my friend and dont know (the phone its a gift from his father). Android 5.1 and there is no way to know wich account were used in the device.
Please someone can help, the bootloader is locked, cant unlock because "android debbuging" is off. Can i flash a special stock images or something?? or what can i do to pass this vrification?
thanks.
@fernando2610
You have to enter the username and password for the last person who used the device. There is no way around this. If you can't get that information, then this device is useless.
If bootloader is locked you're Sol!

As @cam30era said, there is no way around this security feature. Without the password from the previous user, the device is useless. Sorry.
Thanks to all you. Maybe un future someone invent something to resolve this. Fuc..ng locked bootloader.

No offense to you but let's hope not. It is a theft deterrent
have him ask his father. his father would know his own username and password. if his farher doesnt know, then id say that there's something fishy going on with that phone..
Thanks again. I ll ask his father, maybe he can talk with Google to solve this.

I still don't see the problem. On every PC ' father ' can login to his google account. And when he has forgotten his password there is a password recovery protocol.

If the phone belonged to the father, there is no problem
Has he changed his password lately? I think you have to wait awhile correct me if I'm.wrong
if he resets his password for you because he doesnt know it you will have to wait 72 hours i believe before you can even log into that phone.

I understood from the OP that the father didn't even remember his password. So he won't be able to reset it. Catch 22.

Even if you have it unlocked, encrypted device wont let you log in. Its better than iCloud ^^
Guys ,
Do i have to be encrypted to enable this security ? i just decrypted my Nexus 6. The phones feels kinda snappy after turning of encryption

Not sure on that. Though if you have an unlocked bootloader, the device protection is useless anyway as you can just flash it back to stock and if you're rooted / modified, locking the bootloader is quite a dangerous thing to do (if you get in a bootloop and cannot get into custom recovery, with a locked bootloader, you're screwed).
Guys today google said that someone was trying to login in my account( it was me) and the asked me to change my password, now my nexus 6 is locked on the setup screen, and it keep saying to login with the owners account.

If your device has been wiped and you reset your password, you cant sign in for 72 hours after the password reset.

Nope. Wait 72 hours. Its the change of password that's done it.

you got a point.. will check other threads and see if they are also having such feature.. (ie s6, s6edge, note and post it here.. so that all will be aware.
If you have a working backup of a Lollipop rom:
-restore it
-boot
-enable "OEM unlocking" in 'Developer options'
-wipe
-flash M
> no 'device protection' anymore.

I dont know what exactly you mean by this but probably not (voice comunicate?), not. I already tried Android device manager (via google, pc), but when I change PW it just say something like "changed PW is not needed" :/. I read about ADB (cant, no root), and many technics for android 5 and 4.. but on Android 6.. IDK :/
pls MOD lock this xd I factory reset the phone..
exp gained : never drink from 18:00 to 5:00 :/
