Hi, I need help with the ROM selection process. So idk if the Knox counter is still the same since I last rooted, which was a Note 3, but it has to be a 0x0 counter to avoid tripping it. Is there a way to unvoid the warranty and return to stock without T-Mobile noticing if the phone has problems? Which ROM is similar to the S6's debloated Touchwiz with all the features? Is there even a port? Lollipop available for the Note 4 as well? Samsung is really dropping the ball for software updates. Thanks for the info and help.
All these questions could of been answered and have been in many other threads. Use search and read up.
Go into the Development section and look around.

No. But many have done warranty exchanges with 0x1 with no problems, including me.
As for all the other questions, you can check the developer section.
And no lollipop yet. Sprint just go theirs, but hopefully we'll be up next.

The original version of Kingo is not approved. The current version has no issues. I used it and many others have. If you are worried about sending out information, then any APP you have installed is a potential threat. They do not have to list all the requirements an app needs in the store.
If you download Kingo to your PC and start to install it there is a terms of service you have to agree to. In that TOS on line 5 the makers of Kings state they do not remove, copy, or send any data from your PC or device to be rooted.
That being said if they are found to be sending any sort of data or info then you can sue them for Violation of that term.
Kingo is the only safe and brick/mistake proof method for MJ5 right now and many of us have used it with no issues.
Does Kingo trip the the KNOX flag? I really want to root this device and get rid of some of the bloatware on it. BUT since its only about 3 days old and I have a contract I don't want to make it un-replaceable if something else happens.
Also I read that 4.4 will be released... Ive been with ATT for years and have found them to be a bit slow on updates. Will we get 4.4 or not?
Thanks

Kingo does not trip KNOX. It also has the ability to be unrooted by reconnecting to PC and unrooting or Go into SU on the phone and select unroot. Then the phone will be as though you never rooted it. I have confirmed this works on MJ5 as well.
As for 4.4, I doubt you will see it on the N3. Samsung likes to hold out for the next device for the new Android version. So if they make a Note 4 then 4.4 will be released to it. The only chance N3 users have for 4.4 is if the Bootloader is ever unlocked or use Safestrap once somebody makes a ROM based on KitKat.
I'd argue we Will see kitkat myself. This is the best att has right now IMHO. And of wager at lest one more major update.

Hey there.. Just got a note 3 on 4.2.2 Is there a root method AT ALL? Or anything I can do? Or am I doomed to a truly stock device?
4.2.2 or 4.4.2
4.2.2=yes. kingo root
4.4.2= doomed for now.
And please remember that questions go in the QA section.

4.4.2 is currently doomed. There is a bounty out though for a full unlock and root.
how much you got it for? if you got it full price off contract, you should return it and get the tmobile one. that one has root and unlocked bootloader.

As far as I'm concerned this is a fantastic device. If you happen to be on 4.3, it's better now because you can root it. 4.4, you can't; not yet at least. Personally I'm got mine last month on 4.3, rooted it.
Either way, it's an outstanding device with a temporary hiccup. Every device has at least one.
Hi all,
I searched several post before posting but none of them answer my question. I would like to know which method is the best for rooting my S4 Active International Version I9295. Also I would like to know if there is a method that does not activate know security and flashing counter in other words one that will not void my warranty?
Thanks in advance for any help

I heard towelroot is the only one that doesn't change KNOX warranty bit if you have officiall update from Samsung to Kitkat 4.4.2. To be sure downloads Phone INFO app from Playstore and check with this app if you have Knox warranty bit 0x0 than use only towelroot, if you have 0x1 you lost your warranty forever, if you don't have any you can root how you want, but from what I read towelroot is the easiest.
I check with phone info I have 0x0 so I should use towelroot but this will not activate my know to 0x1 and void my warranty?
I'm not certain of how this applies to the Active, but I've used Towelroot about 4 times on my Verizon S4, and I'm still 0x0.
Ok...
But I found somewhere it is for firmware before 3 June 2014 but mine is 6th June 2014 will it work?

I saw in a different thread that downgrading from stock lollipop to stock kitkat will trip the knox counter. Will upgrading from stock kitkat to stock lollipop trip the counter as well?
I am buying an unlocked T-mobile note 4 and will not be using it with T-Mobile...but want to figure out how I will get the OTAs without tripping knox. TIA
I doubt we will get another update. So no need to worry about ota update. I don't think u will trip knox . if u stay unrooted u should be fine

I have a T-Mobile branded S-6. It's got TWRP already and I flashed this onto it, but then I wasn't able to use certain features, such as the Samsung Pay App, which works on the S6.
If there's not something I'm missing (I've tried a lot and thoroughly looked into it), what would be the best stock rom to use to retain these features without having all the T-Mobile bloatware?
Thanks in advance for any help!
You can't regain these features once your device indicates knox warranty void of any value other than 0x0
