Hi everyone,
First off, my samsung galaxy note n7000 has a strange battery problem. It charges really slowly in the wall but seems to be faster in a pc, and when it finally gets to 100%, I get the notification that says 100% charged; so I unplug and it quite literally jumps to; 1%, 67%, 84%, 15%, it differs everytime. Ive tried a factory reset and wiping cache paralition, nothing has worked. :crying:
This brings me to my second problem, a few months ago I dropped it whilst working(I'm a farmer, which explains why I dont know how to fix it) and the screen glass smashed, but the touch screen works perfectly however if I take it back to the store, will it still be under warranty? Ive only had the phone for six months.
I have tried numerous chargers and batteries, doesnt fix the problem. If its not under warranty, would it be worth waiting for the official samsung ota update to android 4.1 jelly bean, or will the problem carry over.
I hope somebody could help me with this problem and give me advice about whether I'm covered under warranty. Thankyou

Dear kylegriffies,
First on the battery problem, I can think of two possible explanations: 1) the battery aged, you need to change a new battery. But as we have seen you had down it before, so it must be a phone hardware issue. 2) There is a damage in some voltage detection unit, maybe a water damage or something that made it short a little bit?
For your the screen damage, that is an accident I guess. If you have insurance for accidental damage I guess you can fix it, but if not, the screen is not under warranty. Try to ask them if they can fix the circuit problem.
The best way I suggest is taking it to Samsung service center regardless if you have voided the warranty. Sometimes for luck too.
P.S If you work in the farm, I recommend a Otterbox case(if you get your screen replaced), so even if you drop them it's not likely to be damaged.

thanks for the reply
yeah bought a case as soon as i smashed so it never got worse and i dont have insurance unfortunatly... however, even if my screen is broke, will they still fix my battery problem? if it was a hardware issue... how could i resolve it?
cheers
Samsung will change it in warranty. I see no reason since battery related unit and screen is pretty irrelevant.

okay thats brilliant. will take into the store when i have time and let you know how i got on
hey guys, so i have the LG Optimus 2X, P990-HN, i'm with Fido (doubt it matters) anyway, there was a large crack in my screen, and i just dealt with it for a long time, but eventually the glass FELL OUT, the rest of it worked, but i couldn't leave it, so i ordered a new Digitizer from DealExtreme.com and it was about $50 CAD, reviews tell me it worked, googled it nobody else had complaints, so i doubt it's a fake or anything, all the way from singapore, i put it in and i can see everything clearly through it, beautiful, but zero response from the touch screen. none at all in any area, what could it be? also, if i take the screen out to re-seat it do i need to apply heat and completely remove it, and if so will that make it garbage and need a new one? will the heat kill it? i'm quite upset because it costed 50 bucks and took a long time to get here, and i finally put it in and it doesn't work, all help appreciated!
Have you tried the service center ? One probable way to check if the new one really works is to connect the old one back and see if touch works.. You might have accidentally pulled out some other connection .. just my guess

if i take off thte new screen with a hair dryer, will that ruin the screen though?
Not sure about that . Is the new screen stuck on to the device like a sticker ? I recall seeing some YouTube videos on Optimus 2x surgery

yes i ordered a digitizer though, replace it and it didnt work, what the hell could it be i just dont understand, and i can do it myself but i don't know the problem
I have done this twice with OK success. It is important to connect all electronics correctly - check YouTube for guides. But even if you did all correct be digitiser might be defect. Either you being it to service centre or redo digitiser install. Maybe, you can check before closing the phone, and if not working correctly check with your old digitiser. Heating and reheating should be no problem (although nothing is without risk). Good luck.

hey, thanks for helping me out. i think the digitizer MUST be defective, i took it apart and put the old SHATTERED one in, and it works FINE, aside from you know... being shattered. then i plugged the other NEW one in, and no response from the touchscreen. the ribbon wire looks to be fine, the connection to the logic board was fine, everything was hooked up right (or the other one wouldn't have worked right?) so if i cant SEE anything wrong with a digitizer, what could even be wrong with it, it MUST be defective, but what can really be defective about a digitizer? what can go wrong on something with so little to break...?
Don't know what is wrong, but it must have been defect before you got it. Try to return it to the seller/shop as soon as possible and get your money back.

Strange problem that just materialized today. I can no longer "touch" the top quarter inch of my screen. Meaning that it is non-responsive to touch. I have to flip my screen around to tap anything on that part of the screen, which works most of the time, but some apps don't auto-rotate.
I have searched and searched but I can't find any troubleshooting tips relating to this specific problem. Has anyone else encountered this before, and if so, do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Try Re flashing

Have you seen this problem before?
I haven't flashed my device in over a year and to be honest I don't quite remember how.
If re-flashing was the only solution, I would do it, but want to have some degree of certainty in advance. I'm not even 100% certain what ROM I currently have flashed on my tab. I think it is AOKP vzw v27.

I am having the exact same problem with a Galaxy S4. I reflashed the stock ROM in Odin and still have the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

A friend had the same problem with a HTC and solved changing the digitizer screen. Is not too expensive ... You can find it on Ebay easily and if you don't know how to change it there are tutorials an shops everywhere...
Other people the touch does not work completely for having wet the device...
Surely it's a problem with the digitizer. Replace the digitizer.. Falls or hits would have caused this..

Unfortunately for the S4 the digitizer isn't a separate part of the display. The gorilla glass, digitizer, and lcd are all glued together. The whole assembly is still around $200.
Hi everybody,
My brother's Zip got water damaged so I took it apart and tried to maybe repair it.
From what I have gathered, I can say that the motherboard is still functioning because I can feel the vibration when is booting up, the led is working and also the sound. The only thing not working is the screen part which I tested with an other screen and nothing happens...
My question for you is this:
Can you come up with any idea of what I can do with the phone?
Maybe use it as a media server to attach it to a TV? Portable hot spot?
Tell me what ever come to your mind!
Thank you!

Hello all, I am from India. The bottom half of my screen cracked and is not responding, the upper half works fine.
I tried contacting Sony for help, and they are asking 80% of the phones cost to fix it. Not exactly fixing, they wud give me a new ZR at 80% of the cost.
Should i go for third party screen replacement?, have no idea how reliable that wud be, but seems the only option right now.

I wouldn't suggest going for 3rd party replacement as the Z series has a very complicated assembly, there is a REALLY high chance that you would end up having a completly dead device

It should be fine to do that, as long as you make sure it's a place you can trust; make sure they're selling you the actual original display unit, rather than a Chinese knock off. I've had mine replaced twice, and the phone always worked fine afterward. The display is quite delicate, though; after the third shatter, I replaced the phone itself, because it was more cost efficient. [emoji13]

Last time I checked, you could find them on ebay.in, amazon.in, and AliExpress.
