I cannot answer your main question, i.e. whether it's possible to change the phone call vibration from the outside.
However, I'm pretty sure that if any, only the pattern (length, interval etc.) can be changed, but not the intensity. Through the API, there's just one function to let the phone vibrate for a specified amount of time, but no option for intensity, so I guess it's technically not possible.
damn I wish someone could figure this out

Hi, i'm new to Qtek 2020i (XDA IIi) and i'm wondering how do i set profiles like what it used to be in Nokia, where we have silent mode, and so on.
How can i do that?
Also, how can i switch to vibrate mode or silent mode and i still have my alarm ringing loud?
Is there any ways i can do that or any software that can do that?
If you tap the speaker icon on the top bar, the popup volume slider has three preset settings.
1) On , just returns to the last volume setting
2) Silent, deactivates the volume but enables the vibration.
3) Off , as you would expect, no vibration or audio
There is a better profile tool but it was a part of the o2 customised GUI. However i find the three default settings do me fine
Thank you. Wat about having it on vibrate or off and the alarm still able to ring on full volume?
I think you cant do that, but as a kinda work arround you would need to put the phone in flight mode (turn off the phone function) but leave the sound on.
Just means you wont recieve any sms or calls untill you enble the phone again.
Try looking at Pocket Zen Phone, search the forums
I bought Pocket Zen Phone, it's a brilliant little app, and very cheap, so no excuse for not buying when it's so fairly priced.
so besides spb pocket plus and diary, what other apps is the best to use? I mean most popular and definitely a need by most of ppc users?
Mate that has to be the most commonly asked and most difficult question to answer - what you want/need to do with your device defines that.
As for a list, here is mine.
When on ring + vibrate, my L620 only vibrates once and then stop vibrating and starts to ring. It does not do both together.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this?
P.S. I googled and found few people describing the same problem but none of them were at reliable places/forums.
Sorry to bring it to u like this bud, but its not an issue, it is how Nokia WP 8 devices behave. That is the situation with Lumia 920, 820, very likely 720 and 520 too. I don't know about HTC and Samsung, so some1 fill this up 4 me.

Yeah, I got a reply from Nokia Care on twitter.
They basically said the same thing....and decided to delete my tweet where I had mentioned that my old Symbian phones always did this right.
ring only once problem: workaround

I have found a workaround for this issue, it does not completely solve the problem but improves the situation!!
if you set a short ringtone say which lasts for 10 seconds then your phone will behave like this on a incoming call:
vibration> 10 sec ringtone>vibration > 10 sec ringtone and so on....cyclically
so suppose your incoming call ringing is live for 35 seconds your phone will vibrate around 3 times before you have a missed call..............
the shorter your ringtone duration is the more time it will vibrate.
now how to shorten the length of ringtone: for that you can create a custom ringtone using Nokia's own "ringtone maker" or other free software app's available on net.

When my phone is on vibrate, is there a way to shorten the length or strength of vibration for receiving sms...It sounds trivial but the table shakes each time I get a sms and I can't seem to tone this down? Some apps allow you to customize this like whatsapp or third party sms...Im trying to stick with stock sms though.
AFAIK, you can only do this on AOSP ROMs, but I can't recommend you one. I'm one of the VERY few people whose phones got bricked.
But anyway, if you choose to do so there is a vibration intensity option under "advanced," I believe.
Hey guys,
I love the X but in my mind there is a big problem with this phone. The strength of the vibration. I searched the whole forum and it seems that there is still no solution to adjust the strength of it.
Maybe a custom rom could work but i want to keep the stock.
I now had the idea of “replacing” the standard vibration with the one that applies, when you shake your phone to enable the camera mode. In my opinion it has a very smooth feeling, is strong enough to feel in your pocket without making this rattle and noisy sound.
Is it possible to extract the corresponding code that tells the phone how it should vibrate when the camera is activated and exchange the normal vibration behavior with it, when I get a notification.
Or am I off the track with this idea that the vibration function is controlled by a simple code line?
I looked to see if I could find that vibrate pattern somewhere and emulate it with Tasker, because like you said, it feels very smooth and gradual, instead of the violent feel of the "normal" one.
In Tasker you can specify the pattern for vibration in an OFF/ON/OFF/ON/etc sequence. I played with it for a little while one day but didn't get very far. I tried a few different on and off times to see what felt similar but couldn't pin it down.
I did poke around in the system for files related to the camera to see if there was any files specifying how to make it vibrate, but I didn't have any luck there either.
For what it's worth, I use Tasker to vibrate my phone when I get a new SMS and my screen is off. I use a shorter vibration than the standard SMS one, but still do two pulses.
Hello. I recommended father Nokia Lumia 925 and now he's expriencing some weird bug. Sporadically when incoming call should trigger vibrations and ringtone the phone makes only clicking tone and that is all. No vibration, no ringtone. Only the display is signalizing incoming call. As you see, it is kind of problem when you have your phone in pocket. As for me I am android user so my knowledge of WP are limited.
Problem is persisting even after upgrade from WP8 to WP8.1. I tried setting ringtone from custom MP3 to some system sound with no result and now I wipe the phone. Still no luck.
Sorry for my english, hope you understand the problem and I am looking forward to your suggestions how to deal with the situation.
Thank you, Míra.
Sounds like a hardware problem, actually. Take it back to the store?
