I was using my z1 since it gone out and it is beautiful smartphone at exterior & software. Sony made awesome work with this one. But recently the Japanes company are not going well...
- Economical problems -> Sony Mobile reduced number of workers -> Less support & more time between updates.
- Bad marketing plan -> Too much smartphone models on sale -> Short lifetime of each model.
In other hand we have some new companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, One Plus and others that are making great models with powerful hardware and beautiful interfaces. I'm not big fan of Lg and Samsung because they have too mutch bloatware.
Sony has shown me that can create great devices! I had Xperia Arc S, Xperia U and Xperia Z1 and all of them was great.
The question is "Will you buy Sony smartphone in 2015-2017?"
(Sorry for my bad English)

Yes . When my z1 will dye i will buy another Sony phone .
Can you say mr why?
Because of powerful hardware , premium materials look and feel , wather and dust prof , great battery life , good camera and sound , great ui (no fancy and usless functions like other phones) is is just fast and without lag. I don't buy middle range or low range smartphones fom Sony or others . I will go just with the flagship . If my z1 will die soon i will buy the next flagship from Sony . Srry for my bad english
Yes.
I bought the Z series for the great hardware and the unlockable bootloader, to flash a custom rom day1.
Same here. I like the design and the water & dust proof. Also, i like the camera quality, not over saturated and great noise reduction (But i prefer Z2 to Z3's noise reduction. )
Although i was little bit dissapointed with their software update timeframe, XDA is still here to support it.
Since it's also trending here, sorry for my bad English.
I've been with Sony since my first android, Xperia X8(Sony Ericsson) → Xperia J → Xperia SP → Xperia Z1 . I had a lot of bad and good times but wilI always love their phone for its software and hardware design. But i'll probably change my preference in the future just to get new experience with other manufacturer. Why not try new things? I'll go for Nexus.(Always wanted that but it's hard to find that device here in my country).

That's right. It's about time for Sony to join nexus device development. Samsung,LG, and Motorola has done it. Btw, Nexperia sounds cool! :fingers-crossed:
Sony - Camera and Signature Design +
Nexus - Google early updates = The device that i will preorder as soon it is available.
No, sony dont increase their spec much and love limiting potential of its hardware just to let the next one having "new features"
Really dont like it and will move to another brand if sony dont make a big change in upcoming phone

I've been testing the Xperia T for a week. It is very fast, literally flies, and has a very acceptable battery life.
My complaint is with the screen. Not only is worse than xperia Ion, but is slightly lower than xperia s. Judge for yourselves:
Xperia S - Xperia T - Xperia ION

The Xperia ION screen looks vibrant, with punchy colors, with stellar contrast and very deep blacks, so deeps that the screen seems to merge with the frame, and also has excellent viewing angles. In fact, looks like an IPS display, very close to greater screens out there like iPhone or HTC one X. Maybe the ION has the best display that Sony has ever made. The problem is that even the xperia s has a better screen than the Xperia T. The display on Xperia T looks washed out, lacking contrast, seems as if the glass and the screen were far apart from each other.
The new flagship of Sony it's a great device with fantastic design, but the screen is mediocre. Why Sony does not put all his best hardware on their flagship? It's difficult to understand.
What was the brightness settings, when you tested them?
This looks weird, that there is almost nothing on the display (just black) on some pictures.

brightness set on 30% on all three
Hmm, and that's it, 30% on one of them doesn't mean the same brightness level on second of them.
One of them could be 30% = 100 level
Second of them could be 30% = 150 level
And even if the levels are same, the voltage can be different on each other.
Only serious testing is with 100% brightness.
Maybe you got a piece which has a defaulted screen?
Full Brightness, 100% on both:
(Left ION - Right Xperia T)
Wow that's pretty crazy difference. The ion does have a great screen.
maybe Bravia engine not working on T (faulty)? Looks like it. Can you post images with BE off (to rule out this possibility)?
Looks like the gamma is too high.
i heard something about Xperia T using a new Screen protector! You took that away before testing?
Xperia Ion has a great display! omg i regret not buying it :9
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cu2Jmz2FEU
The difference btwn the colors of the t&v goes to show that the t isn't really sony's flagship and that the v is.
Right now i'm thinking about to sell Ion and buy an T, but after this pictures, i don't know... And, as i understood, the screen of T is smaller because of the virtual buttoms, right? But anyway, this is a Bond's phone , and it runs on S4, and it have a great design, so, i'm still not sure of my decision
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
I don't have an Ion to compare against, but the screen on my T looks to be much better than this one.
Colours and contrast as very good, the black fades into the screen surround. The auto brightness is very aggressive though.
Pity Sony doesn't pay much attention to what screen it puts into a phone. This is exactly as the thread title says: mediocre display. If a manufacturer doesn't get it that the screen in a smartphone is one of the most important things then I don't know how Sony wants to succeed. They could at least put a good quality IPS panel into their flagship device. Sony has to learn from HTC or Apple.
I would agree, i find the picture on these phones quite 'washed out', the colours compared to a galaxy S3 are very dull. I know screen tech is different, but even my old Arc (LT15i) had a better saturated screen than this....i may report it and see what O2 UK / Sony UK say.
I believe, Sony will succeed. I am going to buy T, even after watching these pictures. Nothing is perfect, but still I find this phone to be the best device with cost/performance comparison for couple of upcoming months. I know, that the screen is something that I can adapt to. I could adapt to GN screen and I could adapt to Photon screen. Two screens, miles away one from each other. And for me, any LCD is better than Amoled.

It's important to clarify this issue, and see if my screen is defective, a prototype, or simply Sony putting bad screens in their flagship.
I assumed the display was mind blowing. Now. I am unsure if I will buy it
Ive been closely looking at it, it looks to be very sensitive to he actual viewing angles, whilst playing temple run, if i slightly angled the screen closer or away from my eyes, the colours became washed out, and then vivid again when tilting up right.
The screen, when looking head on is fine, colours are vivid, we used the Mclaren P1 Reality app to test, and the Samsung Galaxy S3 blew away colour reproduction on this device.
When the HTC One was announced it was rightfully lauded for its aluminium unibody design. However, whilst checking out pictures of the handset rear, we were reminded of another handset we know well – the Xperia P. The Xperia P was arguably the sexiest handset launched by Sony in 2012. The aluminium-clad beauty sat in between the Xperia S and Xperia U in terms of specs and hence was a great all-rounder with a premium feel.
We have put both handsets side-by-side below and there appears to be more than just a close resemblance between handsets. Both feature a tapered design and sectioned in a very familiar fashion. The main difference between the two (apart from the transparent bar of the Xperia P) is the LED flash placement and a boxier design for the Xperia P versus the rounded corners of the HTC One. Could HTC have used the Xperia P as inspiration for the rear design of the HTC One? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Yes, I'll let you know: No. Major player takes a last-year medium to low spec'd device of a less important company as an inspiration for the next generation neck breaking flagship? HTC's design as well as marketing division surely must be better than that. Even worse, this thread got nothing to do with the Xperia T. Let me guess, if I search for "Threads started by this user" I'll find the exact same thread in every other Sony-related subforum I guess. He/She's better than I thought.
Anyway,I feel somewhat offended by the fact that you didn't even rework your text to work on a forum but lazily made copy&pasta from a blog entry. Lame. And lazy. The second time I have to ask Darth Vader to come to my assistance this week:

The HTC One is really lagging in innovation.
its good..because sony make good and some of the others "player" copy them and make good products..with Sony design and screen ) ..
Good sony.
Because it's absolutely logical to post about the Xperia P, HTC and iPhone in an Xperia T forum...

htc may have based its designs on other models, but it doesn't mean they've copied from other phone manufacturers. even if the htc one doesn't appeal to you, i find it pointless to:
(1) inform others about what you feel about it by
(2) copying wholesale from another blog
by doing so, you're doing exactly what you are (correct me if i'm wrong) accusing htc of doing: BEING COMPLETELY UNORIGINAL.

EDIT 23/4/2014
---------------------
Build number 10.5.A.0.XXX most likely denotes Android 4.4 KitKat, given that 10.4 firmware was Android 4.3; 10.3 firmware was Android 4.2 and 10.1 firmware was Android 4.1. However, EMMA is a tool where different people have different access levels and there is no doubt this is an early test release, there’s no guarantee this will be the build that will hit phones next month.

if needed i can root w/e jailbreak
Z3.. Better hardware, bigger display.. Better gaming experience. :good:
In the future I'd not spend so much on this. In 1 - 1.5 years they make these devices redundant.
Xiaomi Note or Asus Zenphone 5.

I prefer getting a z2 when it becomes cheaper
The Z3 has pretty much better everything.. But I'm sure you already know that. I think its more about the ecosystem. If you are using a Macbook or iMac, it would definitely be easier and more user friendly to go for an iPhone. Nothing can beat the Sony camera though IMO.
Are you kidding me?
Why in all the hipster world somebody should prefer an expensive gimmick over a complete phone?
Get the Z3 and you won't miss anything
And calling itunes user-friendly when you can copy-paste files or use 3d party syncronizer is plain bs

I totally agree with you. Buy Z3.
I just saw the pricing of IP6. The OP question is now redundant.:silly:
I hate iOS prison! You have no freedom, your friend can't even send you a music or GAME! and there is no custom rom for iOS and system modifications are so limited on iOS.
Z3 offers bigger screen, better camera and better speaker (so you enjoy your games music and sound without any headphone or handsfree  )

Clever. Let's give a 600€ phone to an eleven years old.
Besides my 8 years old cousin totally enjoys playing pokémon on the gba emulator. With her crappy as hell gingerbread galaxy ace. And she absolutely has no regrets.
The same couldn't be said for the ip since you need at least a ios6 (which slows down older phones) and to jailbreak it. Something that a the average kid or girl repudiates
Xperia Z3 is best
I think sony xperia z3 is best one, Iphone 6 not interest. iphone 6 very high price

I wouldn't say that. At half the price it was a good phone. But at the asking price ... people must somewhat blurry.
Sony is also not exactly "reasonable" priced but more based on an emotional value.

I meant it as an example, but i think that it would be a bad phone for its price, any way its good as long as he doesn't go for icrap.
Not so big differences between Z2 and Z3.
I think it's better buying the Z2 that has a lower price now rather than spending another 200-300 euros for nothing really special
Just my personal opinion
I don't comment the iPhone 6 part because we are talking about phone.

Man i feel the luckiest person in the world! why?
1. since android came out, except HTC android one, i have been sticking with LG
2. Optimus One -> Optimus G -> G Flex -> G2 -> GPro2
3, So i am already used to one system upgrade throughout handset lifetime
4 as soon as my GP2 outdated, man i thought lets try sony this time, so the (almighty) ZR
5 i bought it still running JB 4.1.2
6 Then 4.2.2 came along, I feel normal
7 then 4,3 comes, i feel excited'
8 then 4.4.2 comes, i feel i hit a jackpot
9 then 4.4.4 comes, man i was like WTF
10 Now 5.0 news comes, do u know how i feel?
i want to run up himalayas and proclaim "i love sony!!!"
