Hi guys, need some help rooting as I've tried 4 processes so far without success..
Here's the device specs
Android: 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.0+
Build: KOT491.D41510e
I tried towel root (apparently only works with build c), wondershare mobilego, 2 XDA guides:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
I got as far as rebooting into download mode and while the device said "ROOTED" in red text, there was no activity in the command line script as it was "Waiting for device.." and the progress bar on the phone was stuck at 0%.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/development/root-twrp-root-twrp-tmo-lg-g3-t2821005
I connected the device and the first time it did recognize it, but after hitting enter to proceed , it says Error your phone is not running a compatible software version. no vulnerable mode detected.
Any other ideas?
This should help you out
Those root methods will not work on version D41510e. You have 2 options to root the device.
1: You can downgrade to firmware D41510c via LG Flash Tool, and root with towelroot. Thanks to gdjindal's guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479
2:You can root without having to downgrade, using the following method by G33kSQUAD

the guide I tried previously http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...lipop-t3056951 appears to be the author of the script G33kSQUAD uses, but it appears successful this time.
I'm thinking I may have forgotten to run the supersu app.

i flash recovery twrp with moto toolkit the first time and it work but when i reboot i would lose root.then i try towelroot it would give me root again but if i reboot i would lose root. anyway to solve this would be great. thanks in advance
If you can boot into recovery (twrp) just flash the su zip, if you search the forums or Google you will find a link
You used a toolkit to flash recovery and root the phone? In the time it took to download and get the toolkit ready, you probably could have downloaded mfastboot, recovery, and a superuser zip and had all of them flashed and no issues.

If you are using a tool kit, I have to ask.. Have you visited Moto's web site, requested the unlock code for your phone, and actually used it (mfastboot oem unlock uniquecode)?
If you have a developer edtion, consider this... Don't use the tool kit, instead...
Install Android Platform Tools, ADB, mFastboot and the Moto drivers by following -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/ADB.htm
Root by following -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/step-step-instructions-unlocking-t2649738 however, since it was written some time ago, get and use the newest TWRP from -> http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/ghost and get the newest SuperSU from -> http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu and copy it to the /SDCard in your phone (or just download it from the browser on your phone so its in /sdcard/download folder before you start)... Use these versions when following that process.
If you already got your unlock code from Moto's web site and used it, then you can skip step 1.
And step 5 should be started with the phone UNPLUGGED.
thanks for all the reply. i have it unlock by Moto's web site with the code.i have twrp 2711 and everything flash fine. i flash with the new su 2.0 in twrp2.7.1.1 it said flash successful but when it boots up i still have no root. i use rsd lite and flash Google Play Edition 4.4.2, by Q9Nap where the rom is already rooted. root work fine until i reboot i would lose root again.thanks in advance for any and all the help

Did you ever try to downgrade to 4.4 and use something like slapmymoto or MotoWpNoMo or something before?
Either way, based on the past seeing similar symptoms.. I would consider downloading the stock verizon 4.4.2 SBF and then follow Option 5 at -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-ReturnToStock.html to get back to stock, then try TWRP and SuperSU again. (and yes there are a few lines/commands repeated there, that is intentional)
Heard of this another time....but can't find the thread. All signs for that person was bootloader unlocked and write protection still enabled.
I have the SM-N910T previously stock kernel rooted on v5.0.1.
I understand I can't root with the stock kernel so I installed v5.1.1 with stock kernel, TWRP, and "System-less" root with CF-Auto-Root.
I found some issues with Titanium so I decided to install BeastMode Kernel v1.9.2. I re-rooted and it is still "system-less" and the option to install su to System is dimmed out.
From within SuperSU, I selected the uninstall to reinstall from Google Play option. It rebooted and prompted that the binary needed to be updated but the update fails.
I'm confused...how do I install the "normal" root and not the system-less?
Thanks.
You can't do normal root on dok2 bootloader. And since you are already on the dok2 bootloader, you can no longer downgrade below that. The latest bootloader that uses normal root is cog2.

Have you tried flashing updatesupersu.zip through twrp or cwm?

Folks, need your kind guidance. I recently bought a used T-Mobile Note4(SM-N910T) which as baseband version : N910TUVU2DOK2
2 questions:
- Is it possible to root this device with the current bootloader at N910TUVU2DOK2?
- If so, what are the steps and could someone guide me since the steps outlines in the rooting page for N910T on the forums don't seem to be for N910TUVU2DOK2
Any help would be appreciated...
I have a t3 and I'd also like to to know the answer to this question if anyone can help
Hi guys I have the latest firmware installed ( see screenshot) whenever I try to obtain root via chain fires autoroot or through custom kernel for n9208 my phone gets stuck at bootloader. Is there any way to fix this.
Ps the crom services app always force closes . And I followed every step on root tutorials
Hi, i got same problem with new firmware update, lost my root and tried to root again with chainfire autoroot, but didnt work, tried a couple of times...no luck, at this step i still can boot android, then tried flash xiaolu kernel...at this step i got boot loop, both space kernel also failed to boot, so if you havent flash any kernel with odin, you still can boot after flashing twrp recovery, but if you already messed with kernel, there no way to to fix it...better flassh new firmware, and use stock until someone can find a way to root 5.1.1, hope its help...

Isn't there a way we can simply downgrade to the last rootable firmware?
if you're on the latest firmware, i recall having to install the AOK2 bootloader to root my N9208 using the original root methods (not the Systemlesss Root method). check the TWRP thread for details. The situation may have changed, but when i upgraded my firmware to AOL1, i had to downgrade the bootloader to AOK2 to regain root.

How did you downgraded your boot loader? I am sorry but I'm really new to galaxy development.
PS is it safe to flash a firmware from December over my current version which is from march

check the TWRP thread for details and links to downgrade the bootloader. please note/remember, i downgraded from AOL1 to AOK2. not sure if this works with any firmware newer than AOL1. in my case, i reflashed the AOL1 firmware, then downgraded/flashed the AOK2 bootloader and then rooted using the original 9208 root method.

Hello, I have a ATT Note 3 Android 4.4.4 , (baseband version N900AUCUDNL1), (Kernel 3.4.0-3032228). I followed the directions of each rooting method. I have ran Kingo root method and ran Odin v.309 and v.3.10 root method several times and both these rooting methods have FAILED. Can anyone please help and advise me on how to root and install a recovery on this device. I appreciate any help.
I'm not 100% sure but I believe you need to be on NC2 in order to root.

Towleroot doesn't work on 4.4.4 you need to back date to 4.4.2 kk then towleroot will work install busybox and j. Rummy root checker, safestrap 3.75 install ST mind you it will say not active until you install a custom rom in one of the slots I believe you can just activate slot one without installing a rom and it'll put safestrap in a active State. Droidveiws is a good place to get the 4.4.2 firmware get the AP BL CP files the install via doing 3.09 it's simple. Me personally I like kk better than lollipop.

Hello.
I recently rooted my device using Kingroot app. As a confirmed way was not found to root this device in MM version. I had to downgrade it to lollipop and then root this device.
And now my question is in the updates, there is a OTA update to MM. If i install that will my device remain rooted or it will be unrooted in the process? I am a learner and recently started to root sorry if it is a stupid question.
And i cannot even install the twrp or cwmod in this device. As the bootloader is locked. I have got the unlock code form the website. But when i try to flash it using minimal adb and fastboot. All it does is waiting for device. I am on windows 10 pro.
Thank you.
