Unfortunately this method will not work for me. my device is recognized in Windows as android and not as lge. even if I change properties and I force it as lge modem Device cannot start. I have downloaded all images necessary but I cannot flush them. I also need to mention. Fastboot mode doesn't shows up on the screen. screen is inactive for anything I do including keys combination. Only thing which shows that the device is still alive is when I plug in the USB into a pc it shows me that the drivers are not installed and that is a android. Please help

Fastboot is not displayed in the screen.
its just a black screen and the phone being recognized as qhusb
download the drivers in this post
and try again the method that I sent you before.
remember to not use the files from G2, recovery must be the one of G Flex. you may find an image of twrp 2.8.5.0 here in the forum.
Good luck

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am in the same boat now. I managed to flash carbon rom and used fastboot to flash boot.img but now I can't go back, fastboot seems broken. USB works fine within the ROM, just not from fastboot. USB Device Not Recognized. Not a driver issue, it's before it even tries to load the drivers.

Remember to put all letters in capital and also to relock your bootloader before using the zip file.
My 'USB Device Not Recognized' issue turned out to be Windows 8. I originally flashed my boot.img using Windows 7 at work and forgot that I'd done it from there, so I'd been under the impression that it worked once for me on Windows 8 so it should work again. But in fact, it never worked on Windows 8.
I installed Windows 7 on a second partition at home and it worked without issue. FYI I wasn't using USB 3.0 or anything and I tried a couple of Windows 8 PCs before resorting to installing Windows 7. It's also worth noting that the error in Windows 8 seems to happen before the actual drivers are installed/loaded, so it's not just a matter of picking the proper driver afaik. I did have the proper drivers and HTC Sync Manager, and tried forcing the driver install, but it didn't help. This also means you can't use a virtual machine to work around the issue.
Hope this helps others who run into the 'USB Device Not Recognized' error on Windows 8...

Did you wipe data/factory reset after flashing? I didn't see you mention that anywhere. Also, are you sure you're using the right ROMs for the One XL (evita) and not the regular One X? Or the other way around in case you're in the wrong forum?
Hi @ all
I'm working on unlocking my bootloader
and it always get stuck on this "factory reset for first bl unlock" thing
and I think it is because of missing fastboot drivers ( possibly that's why it's working
on linux distros).
When my phone get stuck and I go into device manager in Win 7
there's a fastboot device with a yellow triangle (=missing drivers),
so do anybody know how I can get those drivers?
I already installed latest LG drivers (through LG Update Tool and from a external download)
and I updated adb and that whole thing but still no fastboot drivers
Are there any drivers available for our v20A yet?
Thanks for your help in advance,
you guys are awesome

you don't need the fastboot driver simply type adb reboot oem-unlock, the official way...
send from my rooted P880

Youl'll find fastboot drivers here, in post number 17 by 'nedooo'. He attached them in his post. They worked for me!
Well I think you didn't get where I got stuck
I do the official way (or any other way) and I get into the
unlock procedure menu, then I press volume up
and it says "Download Mode" (in red) and nothing happens
but the fastboot device is recogniced in windows (without drivers).
If I unplug the usb before or after the download mode thing appears
it shows the next line (factory reset for first bootloader unlock ... please wait).
But then nothing happens
Tried plugging usb back in and power button but nothing happens after that.
So I think it's the fastboot driver

How do you install them? I run the Install.exe but nothing happens. I am running it as administrator too. And the FilterDriverInstaller.exe is in chinese so I don't think it's that one. Sorry if this is a super noobish question.
Edit: Don't. Just don't.... **** I'm retarded
Edit 2: I have the same problem (stuck on factory reset), but I can't seem to find the fastboot driver with the yellow triangle in device manager. Is it something completely else that's causing my problem?
Edit 3: Don't know why, but I now get the message Done... Now ready!
You guys need windows 7 PC to unlock the device. And make sure your PC have android fast boot drivers given by needooo installed in. If drivers in PC are not perfectly configured you can't unlock your device. Why windows 7? Known truth windows 8 sucks. You can't install fast boot drivers in windows 8
Not yet solved you must be missing something do as it is in the post.

Few posts before yours there's a link to fastboot drivers. Just install those manually. For me those where the only one working so you should give it a try
The problem seem to be that there are different fastboot versions or something similar.

Hello I have an unlocked Lg optimus 4x hd software version 4.1.2 JB. I recently successfully rooted it but CWM said there wasn't one available for my phone on the rom manager app so i found one. I would post a direct link to it but apparently im not allowed to yet.
I realised that this was realised almost a year ago after the fact, this probably is what messed my phone up.
I installed it and ran it, when my phone rebooted it was stuck in a boot-loop. I can still access the default android recovery screen and I tried hard resets and clearing the caches but I'm still stuck on the LG logo. My computer still says that its installing drivers when i plug the phone in but it won't let me do any thing. I have looked around the forums and the solutions i found aren't helping me. Any help would be appreciated.

You just need to be able to get in S/W Mode by pressing "Vol- & connect to PC".
For a better flash try to use LGFlash Tool, look here:

did you check the port number in windows/linux device manager after connecting the device? Did you set it to port 41?
Go get the stock rom for your version and flash through Odin. It was kinda stupid for you to flash a G2 recovery in the first place.

The only thing you can do from this point is flash a stock rom for your model through odin. I've done it before.
Hi,
try one finger on button volume down and then additionally slightly touch with this finger power button, too. It will boot into Recovery mode.
For rebooting via windows/linux command window usb debugging must be enabled in settings.

I desperately need the laf.img file for att g flex... To get out of cwm recovery loop. It was in another thread, but the file is unavailiable for download. If there is another way to get out cwm loop please explain as you will help tremendously. I just got it less than 16 hours ago lol. Thanks in advance!!!!!
I am stuck in the same situation, except mine is twrp, but either way I am stuck to where no matter what I do the phone only will boot into recovery. The recovery is fully functional but it won't boot past it.
Here this is for the D950 JB https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17856154/laf.img

It's more work than adb, but did you try returning to stock? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
I fixed it guys!!!! And i didnt have to return to stock. I just adb push the file, but i had to use the drivers for the Nexus 5... worked like a charm.
