The phone itself enters into fastboot mode - Huawei Ascend P7

The phone is switched off, and when it is on the charger. After a few minutes, enters into fastboot and rescue mode.
The phone is 100% rooted, bootloader is unlocked.
I have

Please if anyone knows how to solve this.
Thanks in advance

It's CWM's bug.
Not because of CWM itself, but of this chinese build of it.

1+3 ; no recovery after v87 installation

Hi,

I re-installed recovery thru ADB, Flashify or TWRP manager, but no luck :crying:
Any idea ?

TWRP not installing

Hey folks,
I've been trying to install TWRP on my Mi5, MIUI 8 Global 7.1.19 Beta, and I cannot, for the life of me, get it to work.
I've tried the standard method via Fastboot, which boots into TWRP but then defaults back to the standard Xiaomi recovery when I reboot. I've scoured the MIUI forums and these forums here and tried the solutions suggested, such as the Cofface.img and Flasher toolkit (When using the toolkit it says it has completed successfully and says "you are now in TWRP xxxxx" but the device remains in Fastboot mode and doesn't even reboot) etc., but none of them work! Each and every time the device falls back to the standard recovery and I'm left with more grey hair.
Does anyone know of any other solutions or ideas?
Thanks in advance.
What TWRP version ?
Did you try the modified version that is available in the miUI forum? xz.. something...
There is also a guide for it (on the miUI).

Cheers for the info, mate. Yes, I've tried the modded version (the cofface version and TWR 3.0.2.X), 3.0.2.1. wouldn't open when I was able to boot into it (once), it just stuck at the splash screen and 3.0.2.0 won't even boot, let alone install.
Cheers mate!
TWRP is now at 3.0.2-3
This is the webpage (official twrp site):https://twrp.me/devices/xiaomimi5.html
The modified version is the ZCX-TWRP: http://en.miui.com/thread-364569-1-1.html
Thanks! I managed to boot into 3.0.2-3 to flash the EU ROM I wanted. I'll have a quick reboot now and see if the recovery has stuck.
Edit
Yep. I managed to boot into 3.0.2-3, install the ROM and the recovery is fine too. Cheers, man. I appreciate the help.
Same problem...
Console tells me everything is well but there is no twrp... Tryed newest version.
Never mind. Had to boot into TWRP as a last step.
"adb reboot recovery"

Can't install TWRP after updating to Nougat

I recently updated my EVA-L09 to Android 7.0. Before that, I was rooted and I had TWRP. After I updated, I obviously would need to install TWRP and root again, but when I install it with SRK Tool or even with fastboot, it always goes back to stock recovery. I already tried to flash it by "recovery.img" as well.

that would be because the TWRP in SRK Tools is only for android 6 (EMUI 4.1 - 4.1.1) and not for android 7 (EMUI 5 - 5.1)
the recovery that you need to use in order for twrp to be installed is this one https://github.com/OpenKirin/android_device_huawei_eva/releases/download/3.1.0/twrp-3.1.0-0-eva.img
then once its installed boot up your phone and then type in "adb reboot recovery" and that will then boot your device into TWRP 3.1.0.0
Thank you, it worked!
Another question, but now related to SuperSU.
I am with the 2.79 version of SuperSU and I downloaded the binary .zip of this version and flashed it by twrp. The problem is that it keeps saying ""There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!".
I already got it to work. Thanks btw

Could you post how perhaps? I had the same problem as you - the TWRP posted about fixed my first problem but now I can't get SuperSU to install either. Would be interested to know how you fixed it!

I solved it by this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70927601&postcount=456
I ended up not using super su but If you want you can use it instead of the one suggested there
By flashing the file provided in the post, I managed to automatically get access to super user (root)

Q - Rooting EMUI 9.1.0, HOW?!!!!!!!

Hi all,
So went over to 9.1.0 (device and firmware / variant is at the foot of this question
I downloaded a ROM from halab in the hope to upgrade from 9.0.0.190 to some kind of EMUI 9.1
Used EMUI flasher, half worked then failed.
So on boot i went to bootloader and flashed TWRP to get ROOT back, now as soon as TWRP opened, it flashed the update_sd.zip and the actual ROM booted.
It didn't delete anything, it works perfect and I have no problem with the actual OS i now have, in fact it's actually rapid with good USEFUL features
MODEL: C432 L29 (Single sim, rebranded from 783 L09, no funky huawei crap)
FIRMWARE: 9.1.0.311 from 9.0.0.190 apparently it was a service ROM? No idea.
But it' on there now.
My question though? How can i root??
Flashing TWRP (any of them)
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk NAME OF TWRP.ZIP
It will flash, but you cannot boot to TWRP
Patched a Magisk img, same method of flash in the same location recovery_ramdisk
Nothing, it will actually boot to eRecovery, so it's either protected or it's moved.
My bootloader remained unlocked, FRP was untouched.
Perhaps i should upgrade to 320.
Anyone know how to root?? Conventional means don't seem to work anymore.
Any help would be nice, thanks.
Not sure whether it'll work for You, but that's what some of us did:
1) flash patched ramdisk
2) reboot to erecovery
3)wipe data and cache - since stock recovery is gone you won't be able to accoomplish this step. The device reboots in rooted state instead.
"adb reboot recovery" seems to trigger root too.
However I must warn you. Root broke sms app for me.
BTW. What happened to your 1+7 Pro?
I was also considering getting it within couple of months.

Getting it on the 6th. I've relocked the bootloader on this turd of a phone. I'm done with it.
What you said above worked fine on 9.0 but not 9.1.0 I tried everything, nothing worked..
Totally lost interest in it now. Cheers for the response all the same.
I went back to stock via otg method, as in other post, then factory reset from stock, then boot straight into bootloader after wipe and flashed a patched magisk. So now on 9.1, rooted and no issues with phone or messages apps.

So guys!! I am actually rooted, TWRP, Magisk fully installed, bootloader still unlocked and everything is all good! stoked.
I used things from around the P20 lite forums, messed about with some files and voila!

FW - 9.1.0.311(C432E5R1P9)
EMUI 9.1
I used a patched magisk TWRP image for the P20 lite -https://drive.google.com/file/d/15NoARNVcbraCZiHLLpppq1kERvCKPSU2/view
Flashed it 3 times in a row via bootloader and powershell
Rebooted into TWRP recovery and then from there I rebooted back into bootloader and flashed a modded P20lite TWRP - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-4kW_ly2fxTTLu9ZW6UgSQGwjkn2rFR2/view
Rebooted into system and noticed Magisk manager shortcut on homescreen, install it, create a patched image from within the app and save it to desktop
Reboot into bootloader and flash the patched image
Reboot and you should be fully MAGISKed up with root...get a rootchecker and then smile

EDIT - EDIT - EDIT
DO NOT USE ABOVE - Restarted the phone and it's lost root bummer. Will work on this.
-ANOTHER EDIT-
I can get temporary root and use ROOT only apps by following some guidelines and I seem to be able to get there everytime but with a couple of flashes after every reset. I'm trying to beat this encryption crap.
I just flashed https://gofile.io/?c=uFbiPK, noticed MAGISK shorcut, installed it, then DIRECT INSTALL magisk update, reboot, ROOTED!! but it's only temporary until a reset of the phone.

Doesn't have to be so complicated. Download canary magisk manager. get yourself stock or twrp recovery_ramdisk. open magisk manager and patch the recovery image. copy patched image to computer then fastboot flash the patched image. done.
fyi to boot into recovery in 9.1 is the combo power button+volume up.
Cheers.

Alright so, to properly install twrp I noticed, you have to boot twrp through adb by going to fastboot and typing the command "fastboot boot recovery.img(or however you have named the twrp file you downloaded)" Your phone will boot into twrp. After that, you need through there to flash magisk or generally the root you prefer. Once you've done that boot into your phone, download the twrp app and flash twrp through there. If your phone is not booting for some reason you might have installed an incompatible image or something. If the phone doesn't boot at all and you can't enter twrp, boot twrp using the method I said earlier and restore a backup you have made, then do the process I told you by installing the app and flashing it, and then continue trying to install a ROM. Always be sure that twrp is working perfectly before flashing ROMs.
