I need to return my phone to HTC as I suspect it has a faulty usb port, its a international version on vodafone in New Zealand as far as I can tell its not branded. Do I need a specific RUU to unroot it and get rid of "tampered" tag?
The actual problem is it won't charge, randomly goes into car mode and my PC can't see the device but sometimes it will charge when moving the usb cable, I've troubleshot just about everything, different cables, adapters, PC's & laptops, returned to stock 4.2.2 from ARHD 10.1 any ideas?
Go s-off and use a ruu and send the phone to the carrier
yea i would but can't get the PC to see the phone ;(
Well if you cannot get the PC to read your device then you are not going to be able to install an RUU or do the fastboot commands in order to relock bootloader and such. I know this is like captain obvious but try fixing the USB problem first and then work returning the device to stock state.
You can s-off your phone with a terminal into android.
For the ruu you need the pc...
I have had a Tmo HTC One since the day they came out. I rooted it, S-Off'd, Super CID, updated firmware and was running ARHD. Well the microphone stopped workng after a small drop and I had to have the phone replaced via Asurion insurance. I tried the warranty route, but I could not get the phone back to 100% stock and did not want to get screwed sending back an unlocked phone.
I just got my insurance supplied phone (I updated to the the 4.3 OTA from Tmo first thing) and being the glutton for punishment, I want to at least root it again and would love to run ARHD 30.x. In case of another warranty situation, I would like to make a backup of the phone in its stock state (recovery, ROM, etc...) and burn it to a DVD and put it away for safe keeping. Is this even possible? I cannot begin tell you how long I spent trying to get my original phone back to stock. I tried every tool, ROM and RUU and no luck. My understanding was because I updated the firmware and cold not go back down to a lower firmware and then I somehow relocked the bootloader and S-On'd and really screwed thing up.
The old phone is gone and is in the past, so whatever I did wrong doesn't matter. I just do not want to do it again this time around and anything I can do to create a safety net for the future, I will gladly do. My phone is completly stock running the Tmo 4.3 with 3.24 firmware.
What are my options?
fastboot boot recovery.img
But it stopped working after hboot 1.44, I dunno if it works on 1.55.
Otherwise you'll need to flash the recovery and find a stock recovery from eleswhere.
Hello I want to send in my Htc One for repair but need to get the stock recovery. I had TWRP and installed a modded Hboot in order to make it seem as the phone was locked and son http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2673778
What can i do ?
hello guys ...
using htc first for a long time now ... unlocked stock jb rooted at&t device outside US ..
since past few days it has become slow due to many apps n stuff i did ....
wanted to reflash the device back to the way it was ...
so my question is ...
1.) where can i get the stock images to reflash ?
2.) i know i will loose the root after flash .. but will the device be locked again ?? and needs to be unlocked again ?
3.) what is the procedure to reflash the device ? (not familiar with htc devices as i was a sony user previously which uses flashtool for all purposes) is there any such tool for htc ?
thanks in advance......
My HTC One has a defective USB port (charging works but connection to PC doesn't)
Now I want to bring it in for repairs and for that purpose take it back to stock recovery and empty rom.
Since the USB port is busted I can't use ADB or anything like that so I'm looking for a (TWRP recovery) flashable file that let's me return to complete stock.
My phone is S-OFF and can stay that way for repairs in the Netherlands so just recovery and rom would be fantastic.

Hi @Rubman I was starting the same discussion for the same problem.
Unfortunately I don't have any good idea to solve the problem, I solved my personal problem buying another (bricked) One for a few Euros and rebuilting it (bootloader, Recovery, ROM, firmware, etc...) and importing everything from my old One.
Really hope someone will be able to find a solution for us, I don't want to manually open by myself my One (I know it's really dangerous for back cover & LCD).
I'm not buying another M7 since my M7 is still under warranty (S-OFF shouldn't be a problem for repairs since it's hardware related)
I am currently on 6.09.401.11 and for upgrading towards Lollipo I need a stock recovery.
However since my USB port on the phone is broken I can't do anything with ADB so just flashing via ADB isn't an option. I read about Guru Resets and wanted to try that. Found one on androidfilehost that seemed ok but that one just hangs at 10% with a message System is unmounted already.
Does anyone have a Gurureset for 6.09.401.11 or any other method to flash a stock recovery from TWRP It would be greatly appreciated.

I think best way is asking directly @crushalot (Recognized Contributor in ARHD), he's the owner of that site
My problem is bigger than yours: unlocked, TWRP, S-off, SuperCID, ARHD :silly:

As I know HTC assistance is very strict with who modifies even just the software of their own phone.
So, here in Italy, if I should send my phone in the HTC assistance they would reject it as not repairable.
Already happened with other HTC phones.
So I will buy USB port from rounded (Holland) and I'll try to repair it by myself if someone will not suggest another solution
please @Rubman if you find a solution let me know......... thanx
I found a sollution by downloading a guru-reset rom or Nandroid stock backup and installing one of these through TWRP.
if you only need the stock recovery install Flashify from the play store and flash a stock recovery.
I'm now busy restoring a stock nandroid backup to install Lollipop update and after a few days i will send my phone back to the store for repairs.
