I've noticed for a while now that if I manually fix permissions in recovery (TWRP or CWR) or have a script that fixes permissions upon boot, then none of my Xposed modules seem to load until I manually open all the modules and reboot the device. If there is a fix permissions script that runs upon boot, then the Xposed modules never work because permissions are fixed on every boot.
Is this a known issue and is there a fix available?
Which permissions were wrong and you wanted to fix?

It's not a specific file. The fix permission script runs on app system apps, data and data apps.

If you have no reason to "fix" the permissions because they are not wrong, it might be not needed to "fix" them by running the script. As you wrote the script even messes with the permissions.
I have never runned such a script and had not seens problems with my device
You shouldn't run fix permissions. Ever. At least not if you're using anything newer than Gingerbread.
It was removed from CWM awhile back because nowadays it can do more harm than good (see: Android progressively had become more complex). TWRP should do the same, but hasn't yet.
I tried to install the Framework for hours, nothing worked. No matter what I do, the Xposed installer still say that "the current Xposed-Version isn't active. Dou you installed the framework and rebooted the device?" (roughly translated). In the Framework Tab, both app_process and XposedBridge.jar is active/green (Version 58 / 54). I already tried to uninstall, reinstall, all three install options and a toggle.zip I found here., nothing makes a difference.
I'm using an Huawei Ascend G525-U00 with Android 4.1.2 and Kernel 3.4.0-perf-gf909b34-etc. etc., it's rooted via Kingo SuperUser.
I'm absolutely out of ideas. I strongly need Xposed to use XPrivacy....
Go to xposed framework setting and enable disable resource hook/api .reboot your device and xposed should be activated. But theirs a problem, modules which try to change ui will not work. Click thank you if I helped.
I've just bought a Nexus 6P, updated to latest build (MHC19l), unlocked, installed TWRP 3.0.0.1 and rooted through Nexus Root Toolkit, then installed ElementalX kernel 1.15. Everything was fine. Then I flashed xposed-v80-sdk23-arm64.zip and installed some modules. From that time, Contacts app stopped working saying "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped." at launch. Same goes for Google Now Launcher app. This happens even with all modules disabled. I tried wiping art/cache, and deleting app's data, but it didn't help. If I uninstall xposed flashing the uninstaller zip, Contacts and Google Now Launcher work just fine. Reinstalling xposed and wiping art/cache (modules installed, but disabled) brings back the problem. Another thing I noticed is the embedded battery percentage not showing after boot when xposed is installed, while it shows correctly when xposed is not installed (I keep it enabled in the System UI Tuner menu in the system settings).
Does anybody have any idea what's wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I've installed the Xposed framework and installer.
I've installed several modules (in order to change IMEI) but I failed activating each one !
A text box shows "cannot write /data/user_de/0/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modulese.listjava.io.FileNotFoundException: /data/user_de/0/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modules.list(No such file or directory)" and even if the box is checked, the module doesn't work...
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S5 (klte). I's rooted by Supersu and recovery is TWRP. I recently updated my ROM to lineageOS 14.1 (18/10/17) but with an oldest version of that ROM it was fine.
What can I do to fix that issue ?
Tx
The same thing happens to me with the xposed version 87, any solution?
I think the issue is a rights problem.
I used a microSD card to extend the memory and the app could not write correctly in the extended memory to activate the module.
To fix it, I reinstalled the ROM without the microSD and now it's fine. After that, I put the microSD but I didn't merge it with the stock memory.
Guess it will help you
I have a concern. I recently figured out that with magisk. I was trying to install apk files with xposed enabled (no modules enabled/installed) and it always said the apk was corrupted. I disabled xposed right after I discovered it, and the apk could install. I wonder if there could be a fix for this. Thank you and have a good day!
