I have just got Verizon LG G2 32gb.. and I am facing severe reception problem. Previous i was using Sony Xperia L and in the same room, it was catching the full signals while this LG G2 is not even getting any reception.
Any solution ?
I have tried changing the settings from Global to GSM but didn't work..
Please if there is any suggestion then guide me..
+1 im also having the poor reception
Same here. I have do to get back my signal a lil quicker is turn on/off airplane mode. Its not a solution but it helps me a lil.

but it wont be helpful for longer because soon the signals will drop too.. so how many times airplane mode has to be enable/disable again n again :/
its very annoying problem
I have serious signal issues as well, Motorola's seem to have a better reputation with reception thinking of trying a Moto X?

My contract is due for renewal and so far I have narrowed it down to the xperia SP , HTC One mini and S4 mini. I was almost about to order the SP but found that some people are having problems with the touchscreen not responding, and wifi quality.
Is the touchscreen issue resolved or is it a lottery if you get a good phone or bad? The sp has all the features I want but its reliability seems questionable.
I hope someone can help.
I have not encounterd the touchscreen issue but i do have wifi problems. Ibelieve that these are software issues and Sony is planning to roll out 4.3 in december...

latest firmware has fixed wifi prob IMO
Wifi quality is just horrible. Im on the newest firmware, but sony didnt fix anything.
I think, theyre not able to fix that, maybe because it could be a hardware issue.
I hope not, but we will see, when Android 4.3 comes out.
I also tried different fixes for rooted sp's, but nothin worked for me.
Im just 3 meters away from the router, but the signal is damn low.
I've had my Xperia SP for about 9 days (bought it on 2013-10-05). My experience:
Touch:
No problem at all with touch. Smooth as butter. Tested *without* a screen protector.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is a mixed thing...
On my dining room, it's weaker than my previous phone.
But in the bedroom, it's stronger than my previous phone.
I found that laying the phone flat on the dining table resulted in severely weakened signal; propping the phone up with, say, a cigarette pack, improves the signal considerably. This leads me to believe that the 'problem' is with the Wi-Fi antennae orientation. In the bedroom, the signal quality is great because the phone's upright relative to the ground (and therefore is roughly parallel with the Wi-Fi Router's antennae).
I haven't had a problem since I turned off 'keep wifi on during sleep' and 'location based wifi'. My issues were with authenitication, never range (which has always been excellent).
I'm think stamina mode conflicts with keep wifi on during sleep. Also, I've got an old router at home, maybe modern routers cope better with suspended wifi connections?

U are wrong. I tried the wifi range with 2 different routers. 1 at my Home, a modern one and one at my parents house, an old one.
Results were the same.
I also disabled stamina mode, but it didnt increase the wifi range/quality.

Just my experiences - most people have complained about range, but it has never been a problem for me, the range is as good, if not better than my other WiFi devices. However sometimes my phone would not connect citing 'authentication problems' many times in a row.
Princeton University is of the opinion that many android builds before 4.2 have a flaw related to 'keep wifi on during sleep' - in essence the phone holds on to the IP address leased to it for too long.
Even though I had partially resolved the connection issues with the well known tweak of the wifi parameters I still had the occasional authentication error and it sometimes took ages to get past the requesting IP address stage of connecting to a router. I haven't had these issues since turning off 'keep wifi on during sleep'. Purely anecdotal evidence and if your issue is range related not applicable.
I decided to get this phone after getting an offer I could not refuse from Tmobile retentions. I will receive the phone tomorrow and will report back once I've tested it out.
An Update:
Phone is very nice looking and fits well in the hand. Slightly smaller than Galaxy S3/S4. It's about the same width as an iphone 4S but longer. A perfect balance between the big 5" phones and the smaller 4" mini versions.
So far the touchscreen worries I had haven't materilised. I think they must have sorted that problem a while back. The wi-fi works fine but signal quality looks weak. The signal shows 2 bars(out of 3) even in the same room as the router and about 1 bar in another room furthest away.
The battery life is pretty amazing for me coming from an Xperia play. I charged it via USB connected to a pc for 7 hours so it had a full charge at 4.00pm Thursday last week. I have not connected it to a charger since then and right now (Monday, 12.47pm) it is showing 36% remaining. Thats nearly 4 days without charging and its still got probably another day to go.
At one point I checked the level before going to sleep and it was showing 92% and when I woke about 6 hours later it was still showing 92%..I reset the phone because I thought the battery meter had crashed..lol. (Note: stamina mode was ON to get this result)
I only used it for 3-5 calls per day and about 20 mins of browsing over the 4 days. Not a lot of usage but that's normal for me so am really happy.
Overall an excellent phone with a superb light bar
not great
iam using xperia sp since last month. the touch screen works great, but i want to mention that sometimes its not working smooth. i have to touch double time or have to touch some hardly. another important issue in my sp is its get overheating while playing games.
normally its not heating while browsing orusing any other application .its get heating only when playing games like deer hunter, temple run, etc. other thinks or ok.
so decide yourself.
I'm planning to buy this too, just wanted to ask, does flashing a custom Rom fix the touchscreen/WiFi issues if there are any?
for wifi issue, there's a fix posted in this forum, involving replacing the wifi config file with the config file of Xperia L, but it needs root access.
however i didn't have this issue, visually the wifi bar displays weak connection, but i don't experience dropped connections any worse than other phones.

it's supposed to heat up whilst playing games, every phone you can get does, cause it uses the GPU more and the CPU stays at higher frequencies more often. That is normal
I checked temps on mine and it doesn't get any higher than about 45 degrees C.
I recommend you root your phone and swithch to Interactive kernel
regards
my sp is good enough...
i use sp for 1 month, never crash with bugs u tell,i think sp is a nice choice for u

Hey guys, I am going just to ask you, If somebody noticed the problem with losing wifi signal, when the phone is covered on sides by hands, after updating to 4.4.2.. When I flip the phone to landscape mode and cover him as I play the game or watching video, then the phone starts to rapidly lose signal.. Then when I flip to to portrait with no covering the signal is excelent..
Dont know if its update problem or could it be wifi modul issue?.. Does anybody have same problem or similar issue?
Thanks for any suggestions..
Hello all,
After 2 week I bought my G800H, the GPS star to take too long to get GPS Signal. Some times more than 10 minutes
Even with 3G (H+) working well and the configuration in "High accuracy".
Other thing that happens is the GPS notification keeps blinking even when no app running.
Anyone with the same problem?
Thanks and B.R.
I have the same problem. Didnt find any solutions yet. Reboot, apps, settings. For me i could be the OS or the sensor. I have a S3 Mini and the gps signal works as a beauty!!!!

Happened to me also few times, but it happens only when I try to use GPS in car. Outside it works without any problems and gets lock within a minute.
Sometimes in car it gets lock and then looses it after few seconds and has to reacquire it again, which takes few minutes.
Maybe there is some interference?
i've similar issue with my sm-g800 f with 3g connection disabled (ten minutes to fix), when i enable connectionless tha n 1 minute.
I my case problem is wrong server in gps conf file (north america server), but i'am in europe. I dont' know any method without root device to fix it
(changing server with right one, and reset agps data with gps test is the ony way to fix i know)
I have narrowed down my problem to Sygic BlackBox.
If I disable this addon, GPS works correctly and is able to fix quickly. When enabled, I experience poor quality of signal for the first 10-15 minutes, even with data enabled.
Create an issue with sygic, hopefully they will have some tips for me
Today I was experiencing GPS issues again but unfortunately it was not related to sygic.
I have searched around internet a found a bunch of people complaining about GPS signal on S5 mini (both single and dual sim).
Reset of AGPS data and restart helped, but that's not really useful.
Anyone else here experiencing weak GPS signal? I will try to ping Samsung support on Monday...
Here the same problem. G800h mini on my s5. poor gps fix and very inaccurate. I flashed to firmware G800HXXU1ANK2_G800HXEO1ANL1_G800HXXU1ANK2_HOME.
Anyone a solution?

Hi! Same problem on my S5 mini duos using MAPS ou WAZE. Any news about a solution?
It seems to be fixed for me, at least last 3 days I didn't have problems and I was able to navigate with sygic without any issues (2x 150km trips).
I tried GPS Status application and that was not able to get signal also, so I have tried to do factory reset, whether this is software related problem, but that did not help either.
So I though it might be some issue with antenna and connection to motherboard. But S5 mini does not have any bolts or anything like that, everything holds together by strong adhesive.
So I decided to heat the back side around GPS antenna (left upper corner if you are looking at the back of cell phone) with hair drier and push it hard inside when it was warm.
After that I have tried GPS Status application and it locked in 21 seconds and was able to lock on 15 satellites (Before I didn't get more then one or two satellite after 15 minutes even with data enabled).
Don't know if it will help anyone else, but might be worth a try.
that sounds interesting.
Guys, any news ou resolution about this issue? I bought mine few weeks ago and the GPS is the worst i' ever had! I can't use WAZE ou GMAPS properly because of this!!! First time this is happening to me....

i could fix my wifes s5 mini too with the hairdryer, thx for the idea :good:
1. remove backcover, lay it flat on a towel (face down)
2. heaten up the upper left corner (backside) as described above,
3. then push it hard down for about 5 minutes til cooldown to be sure it is fixed in position
4. profit
edit: before the procedure the phone received 4 to 5 weak satellites in gps test, now the phone receive 16 satellites after 10 seconds.
Glad to hear it helped to someone else also.
I know it sounds stupid but works
@dawaldi Please can you portray a picture of it?

Here is picture of the phone with the back cover opened up, there are some kind of springs and glue inside the "doors"
Personally I have pushed down both side, just to be sure.
thank you! Today I had tested on my phone. Heated with a hair dryer and then the finger pressure on the body. It is better but the pressure is not sufficient permanent.
I will test tomorrow.

Here too!
I recently received my Nexus 6 from Sprint, and I love it in case you're curious.
But I see a No Smoking style sign up near my LTE signal strength in notifications. I definitely have fast internet speeds and clear call quality, so I don't think there is a connectivity issue. But this logo just isn't going away.
I'm coming back to Android from iOS so I have no idea what that icon means. Any help is appreciated.
Press the volume rocker and change the notification setting from None to All. You're in Do Not Distrub mode.
Thanks. Of course it is that simple.

Haha yea, I felt the same way about the star icon. When I found out it was the Priority Notifications mode I felt so dumb.
I have had the Z3C for about a week. I am really happy with most things but a couple of things are really poor.
1: The camera performance is really bad. Even in pretty bright conditions, the pictures look dull, washed out and pretty grainy! My old Razr i took better pictures!
2: I am on the Three Network, and for some reason, Data Connection only works if I have 4G enabled! Surely it should work on 3G too. I keep 4G off otherwise the ads eat up all my data allowance as they load so quickly!
Anyone else having these problems... Its the camera that the biggest dissapointment. What am I doing wrong. I have tried manual as well as Auto mode... Bumped up the resolution to 20M... and the results are still poor.
Maybe post some poor results. I have to say, mine is pretty solid considering it's only a phone.
And i'm also using Camera FV-5, which will show a huge difference once Android 5.0 RAW DNG drops.
Try other apps like Google camera. The results will be more consistent. It's mainly the stock app that sucks.
To me it seems that camera performance is the worst if you shoot towards the light source like the sun. They turn out washed out then, like I have a greasy layer over the camera glass. But otherwise, i'm amazed by camera, especially macro shots.
For some reason it keeps dropping the data connection. If I flick 4G off in the settings I get no data connection. When I flick it back to 4G the connection re-instates for a period of time before being lost again. It seems that when the signal/connection is lost, it does not get re-established once the signal returns! I have to manually flick it to 3G and back to 4G to wake it up or go to Airplane mode and back out! How stupid is that. I read on the net that it has something to do with the Three Network. Anyone else suffering with this....
Just seem to have problem after problem with this phone... I'm thinking of just returning it and forgetting about it totally!

Orange Slovakia as the operator here, using Generic Central Europe Z3C and no issues with 4G like the one you described. I have a strong feeling that this has to do something with the network rather than the device.
