Battery for dock - Asus Transformer TF701

Hello everyone. The battery of my dock recently stopped charging. Filed a RMA request with Asus but they rejected it because it was out of warrenty. Does anyone know if there is a way to replace the battery of the dock and where i could get a new battery?

Was your RMA rejected since you unlocked your device? They tried the same with me, but that is nonsense at least if you're in the EU. Citing the respectie EU directive was enough for them to change their minds

I'm coming up blank also. Can you remove the one you have, maybe get a number off it?

The rma was rejected because i have the tab for more than a year. Yesterday I tried to see if i could open the dock but didn't go all the way. To much force needed.

Hello,
the dock is easy to open.
Remove 4 screws Torx (T5) and take off the pads and remove 4 screws with Phillips #00 Screwdrive.
Now it's possible to open dock with a spudger or Plastic Opening Tools.

If only inspecting costs that much, you should buy a new one....

Indeed, chances are it will be close to 50% of the price of a new one with the chance of them messing it up instead of fixing it. And you will be without a tablet during the repairs (which can be 5 weeks + from what I've read others say). Probably best to cut your losses and get a new one. But since it's apparently a hard to give answer, I'm beginning to become curious as well

USB cap worned out, anyone else has this?

I've noticed recently an issue with my Xperia Z USB port cover cap. It is showing signs of being damaged.
At first, it feels lose and dosn't have that strong closing any more. And recently it started not to close well and shows a bump, not flat with the surface. I always knew this would happen because of all the plug in and out of the charger/microUSB cable.
I wonder if any of you guys has experienced this with the USB or other port's caps. The phone is on warranty so I'm thinking, since this is a waterproof phone, that it should be fixed by Sony. Now I wonder if they will consider this a defect or bad use of the device and charge me for the repair.
What's your experience on this?
I can only confirm that I have the exact same issue.

So how did you fix it? I can find a new cap easily. Even though I have warranty to fix this by Sony I would like to know your procedure.

Ok the only hard thing is to get the cap out of the phone.
You need to go in the small hole over the gap with something thin and stable, then you need to push the cap down and while doing this you need to carefully pull it out. There is a barb at the end which shouldn't get stuck in the phone, so don't pull too much.
It can take a bit up to 15 min but it's worth it. There's no need to sent it in repair becoz the phone's away 2 weeks then.
The input of the new cap is easy and goes itself.

I ordered my XZ the launch week along with the dock... In fact I received the dock before the phone. I also use Airdroid to transfer content to my phone for convenience reasons mainly. So, my usb flap has been opened like 20 times maximum to do some flashtool sessions or emergency charges out of home, and it still closes and feels like brand new.
Definitely after reading threads like this I feel buying the dock was a very, very good idea.
No problem here I have been using both dock and usb since i bought the phone 8 month ago and the cap is still flat.
can you please a youtube video of this procedure??

So I have to make a hook with cooper or wire to pull old flap out? And then just insert new one in?

Normally you don't need anything, you only need to pull carefully.
The thing is you need to know how the flap is build, the barb shows up.
You may need to find out yourself how to do it best.

I've got a set on order and will let everyone know how I did it. I was thinking that a thin sewing pin down the hole on the side the barb was on might do it, if I feel too nervous just pulling, thinking it might snap off.
Please provide step by step pictures! ?

Galaxy Note 3 Screen Black out problem.

Guys,
I just dropped my Note 3. It has a caselogy case on it but the screen went dark after got dropped. The screen has not cracked or anything. I can hear the notifications. I can even pick up calls by guessing the unlock swipe on the screen. The screen stays black or I see lines some time.
Can you gurus help me figure out what could be the problem ?
Thanks in advance.
The problem is you dropped your phone and the case didn't do squat!
You basically have 2 choices.
1. Send in for warranty exchange. Since the screen isn't cracked the store should be able to swap phones. Or you can send in for warranty to Samsung.
2. Void your warranty and open her up. It's possible something became jarred lose. Do some investigation.

I think, you should go for exchange as per the basis of warranty.

Screen cracked

**** ****.. My Axon dropped on the floor this morning resulting in a cracked screen.
I've bought this phone from Amazon and got it shipped to Belgium. So, getting it back to ZTE will be a hassle and cost me a lot of money. Did some research myself and found a full screen for the ZTE axon elite (I have a pro, is there any difference?) on the site parts4repair.. Is this trustable and if it is, isnt it too difficult to change the screen yourself?
Please share your advice with me,
T
Nobody who can help me out?
Do you live in the US?

No, in Europe. (Belgium)
I'm thinking about ordering a screen from aliexpress.com and try to replace it myself.
I've seen a guide about the ZTE Axon in here: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/ZTE+Axon+Teardown/53392
I hope it isn't too hard.

As far as I understand(found information on reddit) - we need LG BL-S7 battery.
But I wonder why it is so cheap on Ebay, comparing to s6 and s8...
I have bought a s6 battery.
It is half a mm thicker than the s7.
It have 570mah
So i get 24 hours secure with lte on.
If you would do the same - think about the connector.
I have change the complet balancer between the accus.

So in order to replace BL-s7(430mah) with s6(570mah) you've upgraded s6 battery with s7's connector? And thickness is not a problem? Have you made any photos of replacement?
You've purchased s6 from China(Ebay) for $26 instead of s7 for $16, right?
Sorry - no photos.
Bought on ebay - think its china
