Hello, sadly I have rooted the Z1 within .534 without unlocking the bootloader and didn't realize that update via PC Companion overwrite the root access. I updated to .257 with PC Companion and then I have a Z1 updated, unrooted and without being able to be downgraded to .534 as I have read in other threads.
Can anyone help me to root the device in this condition? Suggestions?
Thanks

Download a .534 firmware FTF here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
Flash it with Flashtool : http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Root with Kingo Root
Update to .257 with OTA
You follow the either one of the 3 or 4 guides that are in the general section.
PS, you can always downgrade no matter of whether you are rooted or not.

Hi,
I would like to ask how can I root my Xperia zr with a locked bootloader and a stock ROM running Android 4.3? It was updated via PCcompanion without any previous root/unlock bootloader.
Thanks.

You can use the procedure described in this thread. You will need to downgrade to .310 to root your phone for the TA backup before unlocking the bootloader.
Or you can may be follow this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590174
so you don't need to unlock the bootloader...
I upgrade my 5503 following this thread and everything is fine.:good:

Did anyone succeed to root the new LT25i (4.3) 9.2.A.2.5 firmware, using towelroot or equivalent method ?
Don't want to loose my stock root after update and not having a way to do it.

yes towel root works, but after using it, use flashtool and root via flashtool as well to have busybox installed.
hello guys
i wanted to ask whether i should update my xperia z c6603 (UNLOCKED BOOTLOAD and ROOTED by tr.apk method) by using PC companion as my phone is displaying that there's a new update which is the 10.5.1.A.0.283.
I've read on a forum not to update phone if the bootloader is unlocked...because it will brick the device or something.
so tell me guys what to do?? i want to update on to the stock official update launched by the sony..
i wanted to make it clear before installing the update
and if there's some other way then kindly tell me what to do but i prefer the method to update it officically.
Looking forward for your reply
You cannot update via PC Companion, OTA or SUS if your bootloader is unlocked.
You will have to relock your bootloader or use Flashtool to update.

I Try All Methods but Not Rooted Plz help me to root 23.4.A.1.232 Firmware on Xperia Z3 Compact D5833 with Locked Bootloader
Have you tried newest Kingroot 4.60? Or you can try flash back to 4.4.4 and use giefroot, then install recovery and install actual flashable rom.
