[Q] HTC One M7 flash stock rom - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Hope you can help please.
I have been using a custom rom for a while and decided to flash back to stock rom, I used an RUU file which matched my CID etc, the phone rebooted and was working great, I then installed the OTA update and after the phone is in a constant boot loop, I flashed another RUU which also matched my CID etc but same result, also same result with GURU reset files.
Can anyone help with the above please, have I missed something?
Thank you,
Dean.

post your fastboot getvar all without imei and serial number please, sounds to me like you flashed an old guru reset file not an original RUU.

[Q] HTC Raider on Bell - Need Stock Firmware to Restore

Does anyone have an HTC Raider 4G LTE on Bell and can provide me with a Stock Firmware? I tried a custom rom and stupid me, didn't back up my stock one .
I really need to get back to a Stock rom as it seems the custom one on this site is Korean
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
you mean like the ones posted here on XDA?

Thanks Pirateghost - I've tried the on with BM in the name as I'm guessing that's for Bell Mobility. I am getting an error 155 when trying to run the flash.
My Raider has CWM installed on it and a rooted mod. I've booted using the Power-VolDown button and put it into FastLoad. It seems to reboot when the update starts but then just sits at the HTC logo and the flash tool errors out with 155.
Any ideas?
I'm trying to extract the rom.zip from the EXE using Process Monitor. When I find the rom.zip, it seems to be corrupt. Can you confirm that the there is correct?
I was able to finally extra the rom.zip from the BM RUU and everything flashes except for the system image . It says data length is too large.
So I'm kinda stuck right now with this other ROM.
If anyone knows of another source for an HTC Holiday/Raider 4G on Bell (BM), please let me know!
Thanks
OEM LOCK the device BEFORE running the RUU upgrade!!!
Figured it out!!!
You need to re-lock the bootloader before the RUU will actually succeed!
fastboot oem lock
As I'm not cool enough to post in the Development section, can someone post an update to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351717 and let the person know there who is having the same problem I am that he/she needs to re-lock the bootloader before they can apply the RUU? [email protected]!!!

Update Unlocked HTC with RUU Package

As a quick FYI, I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to get the stock RUU update to flash my HTC Raider. I played around with a custom ROM and wasn't too happy with it, but stupidly I didn't backup my stock rom with CWM... Lesson learned!
Anyways, if you are trying to go back to stock and are hitting Error 155 during the RUU Update, try re-locking the bootload with "fastboot eom lock". I tried this today and the stock firmware flashed on first try and I'm back to the good old Bell bloat!
Hope this helps anyone!
Hi I was trying to make a rom and ended up in a bootloop, so i made a mistake and flashed the boot.img from the android sdk folder to my raider and now I can't get into hboot, but with adb can get into cwm. i did have a backup and can restore the backup.
now when the restore is complete i try to restart and the phone hangs at the htc logo, then the screen turns black. phone never boots.
any ideas on what might fix this?
Thanks

Can you get back into HBOOT now that you did the restore?
I'm by far no expert but I'm curious if you can get back to HBOOT if you can put it into fastboot, re-lock the bootloader (fastboot oem lock) and then use the RUU to restore back to stock. That should fix the boot image and I you then can start the process over again by unlocking and playing.
That's what I did and I'm back to a non-bricked phone. You can get the Holiday (aka Raider) RUUs by searching these forums. Just download the one for your carrier.
Good luck

Many thanks once again.
Thank you so much!

imei and baseband unknow sometimes.

Sometimes when I turn on the phone I recive process.htc.dialer isn't respondning and then reboot. After some reboots it recognize 100% imei etc and the phone work. I have viperone 6.2.1. I think I have to flash ruu,but I recive some errors. My phone had the vodafone system so only with flash of a rom stock can be restore... but when I flash the imei and baseband etc unknow and can't run the setup because it reboot too early. So I can only start now the system with backups(because no need the setup). but,as I said, sometimes the smartphone work without problem. Maybe only way is to flash a ruu?? or other roms? I have hboot 1.57 firmware 5.11.401.10 S-OFF UNLOCKED. Maybe it have partitions errors?

Oftentimes when you lose the imei and baseband it is due to a hardware issue not a software issue. There is no RUU for your version but since you are S-OFF you can run the older RUU 4.19.401.9. I would run the firmware 4.19.401.9 first. Hopefully, that will help with your issue. Since, you will be stock after the RUU, you can apply the OTA if you would like.

If I flash this RUU,then I can restore my backup of vodafone?(maybe I try to send it to htc?). When I restored the vodafone backup I miss also the boot screen of vodafone(The logo of vodafone at start).. so? I think is a problem if I send it to htc. I think I can't flash any rom beacuse when I do it I can't run the setup because of reboot. So if I flash this ruu I delete all and the backup doesn't exist,so I take a copy of this.. and if the system doesn't start I can push with twrp the backup?

If you are going to send the phone to HTC, there is no need to restore your backup.
You should copy the backup and any other personal files off of your phone before running the RUU. The RUU will wipe your personal data.
When HTC gets the phone they ask for carrier so they can put that carrier's version back on to the phone.

Yes you should take a nandroid backup and keep a copy on your pc.
The RUU will return your software to complete stock software. If the reboots continue after the RUU it's probably a hardware problem.

Do you think is a problem that I send it to htc before for purple camera? (now I have green camera with flash xD) They gave me a new imei(so new smartphone) with vodafone software(because I send it with vodafone system) .. Don't they know that was with vodafone system? Tomorrow I try to flash the ruu.. Thank you.. also @Danny201281
@majmoz @Danny201281 yes is hardware damage... I flashed the ruu and the system doesn't go up and show imei and baseband uknow(htc.dialer.isn't responding while it's in green htc sign and white screen).. so I need to flash my twrp backup and return to stock... is possibile?
Update: I do the setup of the ruu with a trick of airplane mode on,the system starts, same issue but I see that the reboot occurs too late.I need a vodafone system and return to stock. I had the vodafone backup but I noticed that when I used it the splash screen and the telephone turn on,there isn't the vodafone logo.. do you undestand this? What steps should I do for return to stock? I am hboot 1.57 etc(look at the ruu) s-off unlocked. I need also a versione of twrp... what version of twrp should I install?

You can use this CWM nandroid http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-vodap102-1-29-161-7-7z/
In conjunction with the CWM nandroid guide in the link I posted before.

Italian Rom, UK rom it does not matter the Rom is the same for all VODAP cid's.
It's the CID itself that distinguishes the difference between regions

Because your backup is probably of a pre-setup Rom which already has the language selected. If you factory reset after flashing your backup you would need to go through the initial setup again and would have to select your language

Mmm remember the problem is that the system restart after 5 minutes.. so I can't do normally the setup beacuse he reboots too early and when shows the message of htc dialer isn't responding the setups 'freezes' so remains stuck in htc green logo and can't complete the setup(is a luck that I finish this setup of this ruu because I switch airplane mode on)

If you use the guide I posted your device will be back to stock before you need to boot the phone to Android. Assuming you want to send it for Warranty repair that's all you need. You don't need to setup the Rom. HTC repair centre will advise you to backup your phone and factory reset it before sending it in anyway. :good:
The only problem you might have is installing the first OTA,
You could use the guru reset Rom but with that you will need to manually flash a firmware package to match it. If you can find one, I'll see what I can dig up

What SW version are you on, i you are S-ON you cannot flash a lower version than the one already installed on your phone, it has to be a similar or higher version, plus it has to be precisely for your Model or it will fail.
The only option is to restore stock ROM Backup through TWRP and flash stock recovery...

softbricked htc 626

Posting on behalf of one of my mates. He tried rooting his htc desire 626s Tmobile us. Unfortunately he messed up and it ran into a bootloop along with a coldboot message. He tried flashing ruu files. But does not work. Was wondering if anyone has a stock flashable rom or a backup of their system. So he could restore via twrp? Any other possible solutions as many others are running into the same ditch. Please help.

His bootscreen is stucked here.
I would need to know the status of his/her bootloader(Unlocked or Locked/Relocked) and prior firmware.however,i could almost guaruntee that if you set the bootloader locked again, the RUU will work.its a minimal task, but in he grand scheme of things could cause the RUU to fail with errors, such as 155.if you need a link to it,i can assist. The command to reset the bootloader locked is without the quotes,"fastboot oem lock" from fastboot.

Hey check out this post I made. I had a similar issue with the RUU. This might help it run. You have to install this to get it to run right.
