Just to clarify, the yellow triangle IS download mode. You need to have that on your screen (which means you're in download mode) in order to use Odin. Simply try again!
read this [GUIDE] Recovery options for "bricked" phone.
I have try you problem.
Turn it off ,dissconnected the usb cable
keep trying down + back + power
I can enter download mode again.
thank you all !
i was making a mistake but now i did it right thanks to u all and i flashed it and it is working just fine .......
hi, tried updateing to latest firmware using kies, the cable fell out, (its a bad fit) at some point but the update said it was successfull but the phone wont work now, just a picture of a phone, exclamation mark and a computer is displayed. when i run kies, it detects that the phones there but after a bit says
"Device not responding. To resolve the issue, reboot the device."
which doing so doesnt help, just get the same.
anybody recognise my problem?
thanks, tony.

Why use Kies? ODIN is a thousands times better.
the mode you are talking about is like a second version of download mode
just download the firmware for your region and flash with odin
im new to samsung devices, only used htc before now. the SGMini isnt rooted, so am i able to use odin? download mode and recovery mode, what key sequence is it to access this
vol up+power gives:
lcd_backlight_ctrl start determine_lcd_type, LCD Type :61bc11
for about a minute before resetting to the original screen i described
Vold Down+Center Button+Power gives a yellow triangle with a android logo with a mop saying downloading underneath. im assuming this is the download mode?
vol up+center button+power gives ramdump mode (arm9 mode)

fixed it!! using odin
used this guide: http://www.android.gs/how-to-update-galaxy-mini-with-official-xwktn-gingerbread-2-3-6-firmware/
although its worth noting that the version of odin used in this guide is not the correct version required. it points to version 1.85 and the mini requires version 4.42
thanks for everyones help.
Hey Guys i recently just flashed my phone with ICS and it came up with error, then i replugged the phone the computer no longer recongised my phone and it can no longer enter SW mode, windos asked me to update and install drivers although i already had. I now cannot flash a new rom and it's bricked, i tried it on several computer but with no luck, i am sorry i am a newb and searched no answers help guys please?
Just smart flash/nvflash it with any stock ROM you can get.
Not trying to be rude.
When you press both volume + & -, the phone goes to apx mode. There will be only blank screen and notification on windows that its an apx device.
When only pressing volume -, then its smart flash mode. Smart flash program will recognize it.

same problem but cant get into software upgrade mode holding volume down and usb calbe in and the screen flashes one and thats is its not working
Hey guys,
I've been following the instructions on felipemadox's thread on how to flash .kdz files to return to a stock firmware. It requires me to enter the S/W upgrade mode.
I've tried holding power+vol down (whilst plugged and whilst plugging in) with the battery. It comes up with the LG logo, the touch keys light up for a second and then the screen goes black. If i continue to hold the buttons down, it just does a loop of the above.
Any ideas on how to get into S/W Upgrade?
Thanks in advance!

I don't remember well but I think it is just the volume down button with the USB plugged in....you have software update screen
By the way are you on the leaked ICS boot loader...use all in one tool kit in Dev section to flash the unlocked boot loader and then Terry smart flash again
Hope it helps
O2X with Magical ICS ROM and supersonic kernels from my buddies
hold volume down only while plugged-in on your usb cable
Thanks guys, maybe it is a problem with the phone, but after about seven tries it somehow booted into the update mode.
Okay so i think it's bricked or something.
I have my cousins phone. She said she did some sort of update and the phone doesn't go past the logo/start up screen where it says galaxy note gt-n7000.
I've tried going to recovery mode to reset it by pressing volume up , power and home button. but this doesn't work. The logo comes on and then goes away. and comes back :s
if i press the volume down button and home and power. It works but odin won't detect the phone. Because my computer won't detect it! sigh
i've installed kies on the computer but nothing.
Anyone got any ideas ?
thx
