I wanted to get opinions on camera apps. What app do you use for you camera needs? Not editing, mind you, but actually taking the picture. I'm curious mainly because if i want to root and custom ROM my S6 in the future, what camera app will give me just as good of photos (or as close as possible) as samsungs camera app.
Thank you!

I have the photon and need another camera app that has a self timer so I can take a picture of myself. thanks
I recommend spending some money and getting Camera Zoom FX. That is what I use. It is my favorite camera app.
If you want a stock camera app, attached is the one for the atrix. Picture quality is better than the one on the bionic.
I'm trying to find a better camera app to take advantage of this camera.
The stock Motorola app is awful, especially with the focus.
The Google camera is only moderately better.
Focal is way too dark.
I couldn't find anything else that would install.
So any help/recommendations would be great.
Thanks!
I'm using the Google camera app and changed the 21 mp to 15mp for 16:9 ratio.. It cannot record 4k though

I used to use Snap Camera for my S4 that was running GPE. I thought it was way better than googles camera. Haven't tried it on the Turbo yet. And I don't know if it will install.
Alternate Camera
Try Camera FV-5 or DSLR Camera. Much more control over exposure.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'm sure there is someway to improve this monster of a camera.
I second Snap Camera HDR. Use on my current S4. I will be using on my Turbo when I get it.
Does anybody here use an alternative camera app on their S6? I know Google has their camera app, but I find it a tad slow on the auto-focus. I generally like the stock camera app, but just seeing if there are any other third-party apps that might be better in terms of quality of the photo and speed of the app.

Camera FV-5 has always been my go-to in photography. Great UI, very configurable, and takes good pictures.
I've never tried any of those apps you mentioned other than ZR's camera (since it's stock), but know this: the smaller sized application it is, the less bloat, promo nonsense, and ad-junks you see on screen. Many Camera apps you see (including the ones you listed) on the Play Store are filled with junk, so go for something light (Open Camera is less than 1 MB!).
The stock app is OK, but it too is filled with bloat. The quality of the picture could be a lot better.
Camera FV-5 is a paid app, so unless you plan on shedding money for a good camera app, go for Open Camera (free version of FV-5 is useless). Open Camera's UI is ugly, but it takes good photos.

I'm in love with the Pexo Cam
I've tried Ciberian in the past but it almost made no difference.
Now-adays I installed PexoCam v8.5 and it's perfect!
Totally recommended by me

Only you can decide whether you prefer one or the other, so try them all out. You shouldn't expect someone else to decide for you; there are just too many variables in regards of how someone typically uses their camera...
Hello Good evening
just signed up to the site today and have a question regards to RAW on the nexus 6 XT 1100 (please go easy on me as im not sure if this is the correct forum to ask )
Been along galaxy s4 s5 user and just bought my nexus 6 because of the screen size and the ability to shoot raw also folk have really raved the reviews of this phone being one of the best there is even now
my question is i want to use the stock phones camera app to shoot RAW but read it wasnt enabled and there is no feature on the current version so i have to use camera FV-5 to have the RAW images
my phone is running 7.0 and still no RAW feature in the stock app
is there a way of updating the stock app camera so RAW becomes available or do i still need to rely on 3rd party apps from the play store ?
im not understanding the mechanics of phones nor know how to install APKs so if anyone would be so kind help me out here with answers or instruction how to install whatever it is i need to get RAW working in the stock camera app it would be very much appreciated
thanks you guys
You'll need to rely on third party apps to be able to shoot in RAW. Currently Google Camera does not support RAW, though there are indications in the Android Police teardown of the version 3.2 APK that Google is leaning in the direction of supporting it in the future.
Snap camera is also a promising camera app, and it supports raw capture too.
I don't spend money on apps, to be honest, BUT Manual Camera is one of the 4 apps I have ever bought. I believe it gives great control and is easy to work with. You can try it out, it supports RAW shooting as well.
