Don't put phone in fastboot before flashtool asks you to do so. Else, the phone waits for a connection, doesn't find one and turns off.

No fastboot after flashing

(Hello! This is my first time posting in xda.)
Recently I got a razr i and I love that except that I can't use OTA to update to JB.
I decided to use RSD to flash a JB rom and everything seems fine.
But I discovered that I can't use the vol down + power button to get into fastboot mode anymore.
The phone will just skip the fastboot and boot normally.
I tried other button combinations but none of them works.
I can enter fastboot mode only using [adb reboot recovery] with USB debug mode on.
I wonder if anyone encountered this problem and is there any solution?
Thank you very much!

[Q] [KFHD] Bootloader always boots recovery (because bootmode) - How can i get out?

Hello all,
i've got a big problem:
<long story..>
I tried to get my KFHD in Fastbootmode with "idme bootmode 4002" but won't worked after reboot.
In another forum, they said »use "idme bootmode 5000"« (now i know: no good idea).
Now i know that bootmode 5000 is recovery.
If i power on the kindle:
1) "kindle fire" (yellow white) logo appers
2) "fastboot kindle fire" logo appers for ~2-3 seconds
3) blackscreen for ever...
How can i get out?
Factory cable won't work
I don't find the usb-boot points.
Can i get out with usb-boot? If yes, can anyone show me where they are?
All hardware is orginal, i haven't modified anything, but i already opened the back cover.
Please help!
Sorry for my bad english, hope its good enough for XDA.
And i hope i've posted in the correct section, and it's a question..

Did you try to do what soupmagnet suggested by entering the command on the pc, the rebooting the kindle then plugging it in (in hopes to issue the command during the couple of seconds before.it leaves fastboot)

Yes, i tried with linux, but:
No sorry, its too short.
Linux is *spamming* the following error:

From my experience Linux is always faster than windows. Especially when dealing with a device being plugged in, it will recognize and load up its module way faster them windows ever does for me. Also, that error may be related to you using a USB 3.0 port, don't use 3.0, use a 2.0 port.

Are you running your fastboot commands as root?

No distros (if any at all) will not log you in automatically as the root user by default. It is a huge security risk, and logging in as the root user should be avoided whenever possible. There are commands like 'sudo' and 'su' which can give a normal user elevated privileges when needed.
Yes yes, i know. Im not a linux noob... But you can disable password question in sudo with visudo.... But not more here in this thread
Btw i use Mint, any tips with fastboot or the error spamming?

[Q] Motorola Razr I Does Not go past the Red Boot Logo.

Hey ,
I just turned off my Razr I as I normally would , and when I turned it on again it just did not go past the red Motorola logo,
It just got stuck there , I could not restart it , or turn it off , I did not root my phone or unlock the bootloader,
its all completely stock (4.1.2).
I tried and succeeded in going to fast boot, by volume down and power , but all I could do was turn off the phone.
I don't want to root or factory reset the phone because I cant lose the data , so what can I do?
I did not install any new apps , just a routine restart.

It's seems that something happen to yours system files. You could try reinstall system with rsd-lite but you must edit XML files, cause you will loose data and internal memory will be erased.

The phone is unrooted. The option to wipe cache is supposed to be in recovery but there is no recovery on this phone as its not rooted. Kindly explain as I am new to Razr I
@leowaltrick, I know about fast boot but there is no option there that would help me solve this.

You should have Motorola recovery, not custom(CWM, TWRP). Stock recovery is installed on all phones. While on bootloader screen navigate with volume down to recovery and press volume up to choose

Tried it twice (formatting the cache) but still the same problem. Thanks for the help so far, hope there are still other things to try.
Perhaps someone could explain that xml editing and using RDSlite. I would be really grateful.
First what firmware you have in your phone, 4.1.2 I think, but DE, GB or maybe some latin? And your phone was branded or not?
I am not sure but as i remember you could on locked bootloader use only system partition with fastboot command
Fastboot flash system
System file is originally signed by Motorola so it is possible I think

http://sbfdownload.droid-developers.org/smi/CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBORAGB.xml.zip download it, extract it, there should be file system_signed.
- Download fastboot pack, i think you will find it on forum,
- put system_signed file in folder with fastboot, put it in c: for example c:\fastboot
- enter in to recovery push vol-down and power button until green light show, when green light will off relase only power button, then you will see fastboot menu of motorola.
- Connect phone to the pc, if you use rsd-lite before your computer should find out a drivers if not, you must download it and install in general subforum is topic called tools for noobs,
- use your cmd in windows and go to the fastboot folder, in cmd use command "c:" then "cd fastboot" then you should be in c:\fastboot
- in fastboot folder write: fastboot flash system system_signed
- on phone you should see some commands one of them is that 100MB is max, and file will be seperated for 100MB parts
- after installation just reboot the phone
As iam sure system_signed is orginally signed this method should work, but for sure please anybody agree with me or not Its not do anything with boot so it cant brick your phone
I forgot, your battery should be at least 50%

Do I only require the fastboot.exe for this? You said package so I thought maybe there were more files. I don't have Android SDK, is it the same for all phones or is it separate for xt890?

[Q] Unable to boot into Fastboot, Recovery or Flash mode

Hello guys,
Today I am encountering a very weird issue. I was on CM12 nightly on my xperia z1 and I decided to check the official Sony firmware since I was curious. I downloaded the official update from Sony PC companion and flashed the files with flashboot. After the "android is upgrading" window with all the apps being updated the device suddenly reboots. I thought okay it might be normal but it is now stuck on that procedure. It attempts to boot goes through the logos and in the animation but restarts again.
I tried booting into recovery to wipe data cache etc. but turns out the device is unable to boot into recovery and instead it attempts to boot normally.
Afterwards I attempted going into fastboot and flashmode and the device just shows the charging screen. Not even the notification light reacts accordingly to the mode I am trying to boot into.
I also tried adb but it didn't find the device.
All help is highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance to anyone who has any idea on how to resolve this issue.

What's wrong with people these days? Did you even read what the OP posted? If you did (even if you just read the title) you were able to see that he is NOT able to boot into flash mode rendering flashtool useless in this case!
