I have Windows 10 mobile installed and thing i hate is the new photos app.
Its a privacy buster!
The first view is: all pictures
There is no way to hide a folder in windows phone, weird actually.
So i was thinking, since the old photos hub was pretty much better could there be an app made for the old hub to launch on windows 10?
Im not talking without any research.
The old xbox music hub still launches on windows 10 via this app : https://www.windowsphone.com/en-in/store/app/music-hub-tile/3faa2f9e-6b8d-440a-bb60-5dd76a5baec1
So could there be any chance of the old photos hub too?
Can someone make an app for this?
Thanks

Hey all.
How about a simple music server for the G1 that uses a windows compatible file sharing system? (smb?)
I am always at a loss for music to listen to on my laptop, but my G1 has about 10 gigs of music on it.. it would be great to have an app that shared this out simply, and allowed my windows box to browse the contents of the phone without having to tether via usb.
By the by, I'm available to any developers out there who need animation / graphics for Android apps / games. Get in touch via my website at cartoonmonkey dot com.

That would completely rape your battery, you'd need to have it plugged in after an hour or two. Why not just use a USB cord?
If there's anyone doing the opposite of this, and wants to listen to music on their G1 that's stored on the PC, check out five: http://code.google.com/p/five/
Unfortunately there's only a Linux server atm.
Use Orb.com works great for me, can view my web cam, open any picture, most videos, and get all the music from it.
Anyone came across one? I'm hoping to either buy one tomorrow but if there is one for Android I'd much rather save my cash..
Thanks
i want this also, would be very handy.
We don't even have a working video camera yet, so this isn't very likely until some time much farther down the road, if ever.
im sorry to say, but there is a video camera app out there in beta stages(crappy but good) it has some errors and what not..
in order to make a web cam app you dont have to have a video camera app installed on the g1, video capturing image is already enabled on the phone, just someone has to make an app for it. to make a webcam app you would have to make your own video capturing system, or use an existing one if you code it right, some where some how some one will do it, just takes time :'(
Doesn't the vid cam app thats out now record video in motion jpeg?
Are you thinking you'd connect your phone to a PC and use it as a webcam? Surely we are not talking about using this on the phone, otherwise you'd have to turn the phone around every second to type, view the other persons video, etc...
That being said, the ADT Plugin For Eclipse adds Screenshot Capability to Eclipse... Might be some way to adapt that into a video feed? Although, this would then be more of a PC driver request than an Android app request...
use your windows mobile as a webcam
Its free and simple....
Download mymobiler: http://www.mymobiler.com
Download VH screen capture driver: http://www.hmelyoff.com/index.php?section=8
Start mymobiler and activate your mobile camera
Grab the part of the screen you want with VH screen capture
Now you have a webcam stream which you can use in any program like skype, msn etc..
Look at this video as example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wveANUBUIJM
Instead of using the microsoft remote tool use mymobiler. It is much faster.
PS: You need active sync to communicate with mymobiler

This would be the purpose I would want to use it for. Granted webcams are cheap these days so i'm not sure it is really all that practical.
Probably not but might be cool nonetheless.
The idea

I am not high or abusing your eyes. Maybe you can read between the lines and use my example as you wish.
Or is there maybe no camera option on a Android phone ?? I don't know anything about googles attempt to make something for a pda/phone.
Or is there no software available to remote control the phone. Or is it the lack of applications for Android ??? Ok you mentioned WINE...It seems you are waiting for windows emulation on Android because there is actualy more software available for Windows Mobile ???
Anyway if your are able to display your camera on a Windows screen you can capture it with the VH screencapture and use the stream for skype etc...

You people need to upgrade to one of the Builds of 1.5, so you can use Camcorder (the google cam recorder).

I agree. What a waste of time. But For one I would love to see a Webcam on my G1.

Uhm I have the 1.5H A2SD
And there is a camcorder..but you cant stream it through MSN or Skype..which is what people are wanting to do.
I love Dropbox, but I use it mainly for photos.
Unfortunately it seems like the droobox app doesn't show thumbnails for my photos which makes it very hard to navigate.
Anyone know a seamless solution to this (not including going through the Dropbox webssite)?
The gallery will show them also only after you downloaded. Maybe you have to wait for an update from Dropbox? I think the reason is that as long as you have not downloaded them Dropbox wants to preserve memory/space on your phone and only shows basic info. If the devs realize the tablet market is increasing with devices offering more memory and computing power they might offer a more "Explorer-like" UI.
Dropbox on iOS has 2 features that I know of Android version doesn't, one is the thumbnails and the other is password lock. both were working on the ipad. Why the hell are they different I have no clue.
While I do use dropbox for a lot of things. I prefer using Picasa if I want to manipulate my pictures. being able to sync easily from my desktop and having access to the pics in the gallery on the xoom is pretty awesome. That is just my opinion. I paid $5 to have 20gb for a year from google. I hated to have to move the files to dropbox since picasa will detect new photos or changes and sync them without me thinking about it.
I like them both but I find dropbox better for files and with Quick Office HD integration it is awesome for that.

I use picasa for my normal photos but for patient photos that I want to update on both my computer and xoom dropbox seems like a better option. Also allows me to organize those patient photos into folder albums...
Ok, so we all know how Google music currently only uploads from your PC, and I'm sure we all hate the fact that when we download new music to our tablet or phone from some other source (like Amazon or MP3Downloader) it doesn't upload to GM.
I know the work arounds like Drop Box and setting GM to search the USB Drive connection of your device for new music, but both require either the PC being on and awake 24/7 or the phone being connected to the PC. I think that defeats the purpose of GM's sync design.
So here's my Idea: (Mind you I don't have the know-how to even begin this, so if it's impossible forgive me. )
Couldn't one of the amazing DEV's on XDA decompile the Google Music Uploader program that runs on the PC and take what's needed from that (such as the upload urls or commands or whatever) and use it to create an Android App that will do the same? Then you could have a standalone app that monitors your /music folder and uploads new files to your GM account. Similar to the way G+ uploads new pics.
Again I have no idea how or if this could work but I thought it was worth mentioning... Any takers?
How do you transfer photos from Android to Apple? Specifically I'm trying to move photos from the S6 to a macbook. I've tried all the common answers that come up on google but none of them work. E.g. Image capture, android file transfer, etc..
p.s. I'd like to thank the assholes at Apple for making this a problem in the first place t('_')t
Why not just keep them in the cloud?
Use Android file transfer,, it's free and I think it's made by Google

all you have to do is connect your Android and use Android File Transfer (basically mount it as a drive) then drag your music to music folder and pics to pics.
now use Mac to add your Pics to Photos (iPhoto if older) and import your music into iTunes and now when you hook up your iPhone you can tell iTunes what to sync.
shouldnt be hard
Apple has a new app called switch to apple or iPhone or something
If you use Google photo as a backup, you can log in and download them. Depending on if you said to upload full resolution or not, that might not quite work out though.
