Dear Senior Members,
I have recently flashed the lg stock rom 20a and a day later, my volume rocker button just stopped functioning. Is there a way where I can root my phone once again without using the volume rocker button. I got an app on google play "Wireless ADB".... Will it help me get into recovery mode?
Regards,
Bhavik

Hello geeks,
I am having Milestone India, running on custom Cynogenmod rom
My problem is volume UP button is not operating. This creates problem even to enter openrecovery.
Any solutions?
Or else can someone suggest how to increase incall volume without using volume button?
That will also solve my problem.
Thanks
Well, looks like you could use a NO button method of loading AOR.

Try to flash the 90.78 Bootloader on your MS.
With that you have to press X + Powerbutton to enter the Recoverymode...

God! Guys you didn't answer his question!
The problem is that his Milestone is unable to enter the update menu after recovery mode.
I'm in the same situation, both of the volume keys don't work on my machine.
Hey dummy.
I did answer the question.
Nice first post. Have a nice day.
Next time, read the damn replies before making yourself look stupid again.
Thanks to zeppelinrox.
I tried it and worked.
So wonderful!
But after flashing Androidiani OpenRecovery 3.3
(I don't know if this is the cause),
it doesn't work anymore!
Everytime I reboot and press X,
it seems normal to enter recovery mode but
suddenly jump to the triangle screen.
Any comment?
Thanks.
You ran my script again and it no longer works?
Maybe you don't have vulnerable recovery patched
Thanks for prompt reply!
I now found the cause:
Androidani Openrecovery 3.3 doesn't work on my phone
I changed G.O.T 2.0 and now it works.
Maybe I need to download it again.
Yes you did not have VR patched in.
GOT has the VR patch built in.
Anyway finally I flashed TheFroyoMOD-v2.9.0 by using OpenRecovery_v1_46_for CM.
Gracias amigo por su ayuda!
Its resolved
The problem was Volume UP rocker button was not working, I got it repaired from Moto service station, Thanks a lot for all the wonderful options, and suggestions.
So kind of you!
Thanks again

Hello all, a friend of mine is having some trouble getting into recovery, holding the key combos then letting go of power and then pressing it again, blah blah blah but it always boots into hardware control mode with no options to boot into recovery, we've tried several key combos with varying speed and no matter what we do it goes into that mode. It seems that other people have had this problem.... the device is on stock 4.4 and is rooted and the freedom flex app with TWRP installed, booting into recovery from android works fine and recovery is booting properly from there, any help is greatly appreciated
thanks

All I have to do is hold down the power + volume down and it goes straight into recovery mode. Have you tried pressing and holding volume down+power until logo appears then press and hold again? The only other solution is using adb.

Press volume Down+power as long as you see the logo. Released both buttons and immediately press again..
If that's not working the after the logo press Volume Up or Volume up+volume down...

So, I am in desperate need of help. I tried updating from the 4.4.2 NH3 firmware to the newest Lollipop OC7 firmware using the provided method (which was through the app). All was going well until my phone rebooted and instead of continuing the update process it booted into recovery. The phone's up volume key is broken, so it is always causing the phone to boot into recovery if I do not hold the volume down key. When I make it past the samsung screen, all that happens after that is a blank screen. Booting into recovery tells me that the recovery version is i537UCUCOC7. Any help is much appreciated.

Sounds like you need to fix or disable your volume keys. Unfortunately you have a hardware problem and your phone will always boot into recovery until you get your volume up key "unstuck".
I can get it to boot normally if i hold the down volume key, but when I was installing the update I forgot to do that. Sorry that it wasn't clear in my original post.

So you need to boot into download mode (by holding the volume down key during boot) and flash the NE3 Odin package to get back to where you started. The problem is going to be that it sounds like when you hold the volume down key during boot it cancels out the volume up key rather than actually functioning as the volume down key. If that is the case, you need to get your volume keys fixed before you can do anything.
