No problem cm11 is now an option, just letting you know. I think you're best option is eclipse or kangakat when they update it to 4.4.2

Since there isn't even a regular stock recovery flashable OTA.zip for the XT1060 to 4.4.2 there isn't going to be a CWM one.
Wait until Verizon pushes the OTA and then hopefully a dev will mod a flashable .zip up for you.

yea please dont bump your thread the 4.4.2 update has not even hit the US yet and to top it off there really arnt any stock flashable zip's for the rest of the firmware.
and a dirty flash is not recommend because of the changes in the rom you will be better off running a TB backup and then returning to stock flashing the 4.4.2 OTA then installing recovery and SUPERSU then restoring your backup.

Not sure what you are smoking, but the 4.4.2 has hit the US. My phone is asking me to update to it.
As for flashing, I know what I am doing as I have three rooted devices. The other two have CM on them.

If you have the 4.4.2 OTA in your /cache/ folder, there would be quite a few grateful souls if you extracted it for everyone.
Now to answer your question, no, that update will not be compatible with CWM. The OTA checks for stock rom and stock recovery before it can begin.

However, if you can pull the OTA file out of your cache and post it, it'll go a long way toward making the update available so others can mod it into a CWM / TWRP ZIP.

You'd have to tell it to download but then find the file before the phone tries to reboot to install the update.
I was notified of a system update on my tablet today. Got it downloaded and started the update. About a third of the way through, the little android fellow keels over, dead, with the dreaded red exclamation.... Error. Tried the update a few times, all with the same result.
Anyone else having this problem with this update? Any suggestions?
I have to laugh every time I see the dead android... it's just a perfect icon for the situation.

You have to flash the stock recovery back and make sure all the bloatware that came with the rom is installed and not frozen.
The best way to go about this would be probably to flash sbdag's stock rooted rom, then flash the stock recovery from Droidbasement, then manually flash the firmware which you get from Asus downloads.
Not worth the trouble IMHO....

Download the firmware from Asus, unzip it once and copy that file to the root of your internal SD. You may have to reboot for the system to find it, but with stock recovery installed it should give you a notification.
That's how I remember it, but there was a lot of trouble for users trying to flash back to stock with the 4.2/4.3 update - don't quite remember, but I think those got solved when Droidbasement provided the flashable stock recovery.

No, You will loose root by any method you choose to update to lollipop best to wait and see if root is even possible before updating. otherwise you may find yourself in the position of no root and no way to downgrade to 4.4.x

That's what I figured. I will just keep waiting to see if root is achieved/can be maintained.
I am uploading to my mediafire for a second dl location for those who are interested. If you want to keep root do not flash this file until a flashable version is available. If you want to flash this version do a backup with Kies so you can restore everything after you update. I did this many times before I rooted this device, it works.

There is update floating somewhere 4.4.2 to 4.4.4. Read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...to-root-g900aucu2aoa1-4-4-4-2-3-2015-t3021120
Just Quote from post i post link to :
"1. Should the OA1 ota update fail consider returning to factory stock NCE (all User Data will be lost) by flashing the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar using Odin's PDA slot(AP in Odin v3.09+) then taking the OTA updates to OA1. Or, place the G900A_NCE_to_NG3_OTA.zip and G900A_NG3_tA1_OTA.zip onto your ext-sdcard and sideload from stock recovery starting with the G900A_NCE_to_NG3_OTA.zip. Once updated to OA1 "
Do this. Links to download are provided at page i post link

Nothing so far
Anybody get it yet? Supposedly went official yesterday. About 300MB.
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.
It just arrived, and it was about 300MB. IT rebooted into TWRP, which just sat there. I rebooted, and then Andorid complained that the update didn't work. Well, duh!
That said, now I would like to know what I should have done or should do in the future. Any thoughts?
Mine just arrived
What's new?
Just found a story about it here - it is indeed the July update:
http://www.tmonews.com/2016/08/t-mobile-galaxy-note-4-note-edge-july-security-update/
Links in that article will eventually point you to here, where the update can be downloaded manually and installed via Samsung Smart Switch.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-16486#update_download
Since I am rooted I am actually not sure what to do, and would appreciate some advice.
300 mb is a big update. If you are rooted you will need to flash the new firmware in Odin. But you may want to hold off. I am note sure it adds any new features and will probably make your device incompatible with any ROMs that are currently available.

Thanks - sound advice.
So, where should I be looking on my Note 4 for the 300 MB download that happened earlier this morning, so I can delete it or copy/move it off for later?
I just got it but waiting to see if there are any bugs or negative effects. I'm not rooted so there's no way to go back.

Still looking and haven't found any clues for changelog, not even security update. Anybody?
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.
Yep...trying to figure out how to avoid the update too.
I'm stick rooted with XPosed, Beastmode kernel, and a few other mods.
I just did the update, and I can confirm that TWRP, root, and xposed all work.
I don't know about compatibility with custom roms though.

Yeah, if you can't find the update. You can just install the latest firmware you can find with odin, then update from settings.
Hi Folks,
I have no idea what "update from settings" means. Also, no idea where to start looking for the update - heck, I don't even know what to Google to find it. Thoughts?

So just to be clear, Overdrive is a MM-based T-Mobile ROM, basically just debloated and with some minor tweaks.
As a convenience, he has linked to "N910T Stock Odin Full EPG2 Firmware File," which we can flash using TWRP onto an otherwise stock+rooted MM 6.0.1.
I got this right?

Question for anyone who knows: If you flash this do you lose the ability to install custom low level software (firmware, recoveries, etc)?

It's possible, our S6 won't get locked on any 6.0 firmware's
Maybe on 7.0 if we get it. but not 6.0
And for clarification EPH2 was just security fixes.. everything else is still the same.

So I'm downloading at the slow method.. If someone else has not uploaded the image, I will upload it by late tonite..

I'm making my final attempt to upload it onto my Android File Host... It should be up by morning if it uploads correctly.. Just Look For Zaphodspeaks in Android File Host if I haven't posted it yet..
I have many tasks to do this week ends.. Mainly upkeep the the old house and updating some of the old wiring while its getting cooler..

Got my phone rooted, custom rom, and kernel that I was using before, no problem.
Last night (9/27) I got a firmware update for my factory USA unlocked 920T. Sammobile shows it was released on 9/26. It was a 50MB file that updated the Android secruity patch date to Sept. 1. No other changes. I noticed the Samsung Smart Manager app/widget shows I'm using 5% less memory now. I don't know if it's better RAM management or Samsung modified the app/widget to show different figures LOL. I suspect the t-mobile 920T will get the update soon.
