Woke up phone dead - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This morning my phone seems to be dead. Battery was around 60% before sleep (9h) and now its dead. Plugging in power does actually nothing (no led, nothing). Phone was working properly before :/ Removed SD, removed SIM...nothing..:crying:

A similar thing happened to me about three weeks after getting a new phone. Went to use it about 10 minutes after making a phone call and it was dead, with no signs of life. I sent it to Sony and they repaired it--the battery failed. Be prepared though, it took about two weeks to get it back.

1 hour after i wrote the initial post the phone suddenly came back on!!! I saw a 6h gap in the battery usage stats. However, last night, a few hours after i installed the original fw the phone it died again and did not come back.
However, it's unlocked. How big are the chances to get it repaired/replaced under guarantee?

Do you mean the bootloader is unlocked? I think that voids your warranty. I would confirm with Sony.

CRAAAAZY battery

So i had what I thought was a small issue but as of 10 minutes ago it has exploded.
My battery was discharging whilst plugged in.
I took the battery to the phone store and he tells me the battery is fully charged, but on MY phone it reads YELLOW EXCLAMATION and dead.
Bought an extended life battery since that stock one was not lasting and was told yeah they die over time, its a year old yadda yadda yadda
Well that extended life did nothing more but charge and die
It read 100% when i left for work yesterday, came back a few hours later and it was dead.
I complained and the seller sent a new one, arrived today, had about 40% on the battery and I was going to put the stock rom back on there with Odin so I could mail it to Samsung.
Go to the market to get food, come home and the battery is dead.
*the phone is making the plugged in unplugged sound over and over by the way
Now the strange bit, the phone was turned OFF when I left so that it would not continue to discharge yet upon return the phone was ON!
THought maybe i didn't press OK so i turned if off again, left the room and like 2 minutes later I hear it making the low battery sound.
Why when the phone is off?
So it is killing the battery, and now the phone is turning itself back on?
I cannot flash stock rom so entertaining suggestions
Donate it to the concrete? :silly:
Do you have USB bug? (Charging icon while its unplugged, it turns on without touching it)
yeah, your charger might be broken/usbport etc,
you didnt mess around with any special custom kernels?

[Q] Xperia Battery Issues

hello all,
I have been using xperia T lt30a for almost a year and a half, unfortunately I watered my phone because of talking on the phone while it was raining. So that voids the warranty. The screen was so dim that I couldn't even see anything so I replaced it with a brand new one. If you ever opened an Xperia then you know lcd itself consists of 80% of the phone. The phone worked fine for 3-4 months. One day while it was at 30% it died. Restarted the phone and continued to 0% and died. Fully charged it and started using it again...the phone died at 50%, and kept doing that at 50%. Until I completely drained it as part of my troubleshooting and charged it 100%, started using it, now it dies at around between 80-90%, and when it dies and starts up it shows 50% or so. So I charged it to 100%, then dies again same area, it never dies while plugged in even if heavy use. So I was about to order another battery until i checked the "xperia service menu" and ran battery health check. It said "Good, no need to replace it". Whats going on here guys?
I've done all sorts of diagnostics of Google. Dvchek wipe, hard and soft resets etc.settings wipe, Phone repair using PC companion and SUS. Flashing custom ROM, nothing fixed it!
I can not diagnose your phone from remote. But I can say I had read a couple of reports abt the T's mysterious problems, that all were solved after the bactery was replaced.

Phone crashed, won't boot back up

So, 2 months ago I sent my phone off to be repaired after being water damaged, they replaced the motherboard all was well. So Locked Bootloader, no root.
2 weeks ago my phone was simply sitting on my desk when it decided to power down (at 80%), nothing would bring it back (no signs of life). I tried plugging the phone in etc. So i sent the phone to get repaired again, and surprise surprise, it worked perfect for them no errors found.
Recently received my phone back from the repair shop, turned it on (power cord plugged into PC) worked fine until i went into play store where the phone died completely again., tried hard restart, little yellow square restart button etc etc. Following advice from another forum I left my phone charging for 12 hours (no lights / vibrations) with no luck.
A couple of minutes ago i tried (because why not) to power it on, while unplugged it booted up fully, at this stage i saw it was at 13% battery and have it currently charging, with the amber light on and phone operational. Although i am still worried that going back into play store will crash it again.
Any ideas on what this is or how to resolve it?

Xperia SP dead

...well, mostly.
Started crashing sometimes weeks ago, but dunno if that's related. A few days ago it crashed completely on me, backlight on but no response to anything (OFF button included). Came home, battery seemed to drain, charged up just fine.
The next day - died again, some funky artefacts on the screen first, then same as the previous day except no backlight. Fixed when I came home that day too, started taking it apart and the LED started blinking red (= dead battery). Charged up fine; cleaned up my ROM/kernel too, updated etc., minimal app setup.
Next day again, fine in the morning, then a few crashes aaand dead. Took it apart completely, found out that I get *some* LED response if I unplug the battery and press down onto the motherboard.. Rebuilt it, booted up, crashed again. Seems to turn back on if I mess with it after a few hours, but battery charging is VERY slow (~50 percent in like 5 hours).
I'm going to try flashing stock when/if it comes back up, but I'm leaning towards hardware failure right now - either a damaged motherboard or bad battery.
Most likely getting a new phone anyway at this point, but I'd still be very thankful if anyone would know how to fix this and could share
Welp, that is indeed a very weird problem to me. Sadly I can't recommend anything
Sorry
my xperia sp need 5 hours until full charger:crying::crying::crying: and draining very fast, 2,5 hours only for browsing with data connection

2 Droid 4s, same problem

I have 3 Droid 4 phones. Phone 1 I got from Verizon. Phone 2 I got when Phone 1 lost it's digitizer mind. Phone 3 I got off ebay as a backup phone. Phone 3 became my primary phone that I used all the time. I got Phone 1 repaired and it became my backup phone. Phone 2 stopped doing anything. One day it worked fine, the next day it would only charge a battery and show the green LED, it wouldn't turn on, and as of 2 weeks ago, it won't even do that. I have several batteries and tried swapping out batteries, none of them turn on the phone or even get the LED to light up. I put it in a box and forgot about it until this morning.
Last night I set the alarm to go off on my Primary phone. it had 15% charge. When I got home I put in on my lapdock to charge. This morning my husband woke me up, I"d overslept because the phone was dead. I thought that was odd because the lapdock has never failed to charge a D4 before. I checked it and it was fully charged. I pulled out my backup phone, loaded the SIM and SD cards and life went on. This afternoon I started troubleshooting the dead phones. Lapdock charges the backup phone perfectly. I pulled the battery out of the primary phone and loaded it into the backup phone. 0% charge. I charged it up to 30%, and while I waited I put the backup phone battery that works and has a 30% charge into the primary phone. Nothing happened. Tried the Power + Vol Down reboot trick, nothing. Plugged the primary phone into my laptop and the lapdock, nothing happened. And when I say nothing, I mean no lights, no green LED, no screen flashes, no moto logo, nada. It's like I'm trying to get a phone to turn on when there is no battery present. So I pulled out the other phone, the one that wasn't working before, and realized they both are dead in the same way. it's like neither one is getting power. All my d4's are stock, i haven't gotten around to rooting them to run SpiritFM yet. I will be ordering a few new batteries. I"d like to give one of these phones to my little brother, if I can get it to work. My questions are:
Is this type of power failure common on the D4s or am I just unlucky with these phones?
Is this a hardware malfunction?
Is there anything I can do to attempt to resusitate these 2 D4s?
Is there a way to charge the batteries without using the D4 to do it?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
