com.android.phone crash, settings crash and usb debugging disabled - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, sry i#m new to this forum.
Have got a problem with my z1. After booting i am getting errors about com.android.phone crashed. Not sure but i think it began after a software update. Wanted to flash a new ftf and add a recovery but for all this i need usb debugging activated. trying to enter settings app failed when app crashed right after click to start. Without Settings or recovery no wipe cache or alternativ firmware? at the moment bootloader is locked, no recovery installed.
Tryed to hard reset (vol up and power button pressed for 15sec) but with no success .....
Any ideas?

I can't use my phone!

Hi my phone is unuseable now...
Everytime the messege Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stpped. Try again pops up.
I can't (or just don't now how to) enter recovery.
I also can't go to settings because the message pops up every 2 seconds.
When I click Force Close it goes back to the launcher.
Can I do a factory reset (I think it is solved then)?
How do I do that?

Thanks but that's the problem because when I want to enter the menu I get that message and when I press Force Close it sends me back to the launcher. I get that message every second so I cant go to settings.
I'm rather sure you only have Recovery if you installed CWM. Than just press power long and select it from that menu.

Thanks but I dind't have installed CWM yet. If i press power long it'll just boot and shut down and boot again (because it is forced power off during the boot)...
Press volume - (not +) button and power button same time for a while...you get into factory reset mode...
then you can have options and proceed

Thank you but it just boots wheb I try that. Can't I do something with s/w update or mass storage?
There might be simpler ways but that will help definitly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21472502&postcount=1
A simple Factory Reset would probably be enough but when you can't do it.
i think there is factory reset in secret menu
try 3845#*970#

What ROM do you have installed? A stock one, or a custom ROM?
Infact in both ways you can do a factory reset by:
Plug in USB cable, enable usb debugging (if you have a custom ROM, it always should be on),
download the adb package from my noob how to (see attachments)
cd to the directory containing the adb files, type:
adb reboot recovery
Now you either are in CWM and can do the wipes 1 by 1, or if you have a stock ROM, it will perform
a factory reset right away
If all of that doesnt work, you have to use smartflashtool!

It's running the stock ROM and I thought USB debugging was disabled.
Can't I put firmware on a sd card that will flash automatically without recovery or going into the menu?

[Q] P880 hangs at boot | No S/W update available

Hello,
After rooting my p880, my phone hangs at boot. Just after the boot sound (*pling* ) the phone is hanging. The boot image is still moving.
Things I tried already:
I followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723, which tells to do a kdz update. This is not working, as I am not able to get to the S/W upgrade screen. Instead, when I start the phone using the power button + volume down, i get the Android system recovery menu (3e).
I tried to upload a new (cyanogenmod) rom using adb sideload, but that didn't work, as the file I used was damaged (I will retry with new file).
I also did a factory reset and a cache wipe.
Can someone tell me what is best to do?
Kind regards
X-cal

[Q] Failed root of I8190L, can no longer connect through USB

Hello everyone,
I attempted to root my phone by using this rom: I8190XXALK6_I8190XEFALK1_HOME_rooted_by_avicohh.zip
I stupidly did not notice my phone has an L at the end of its model, so while Odin was running, there was an error. The phone rebooted and now, whenever I plug my phone into my PC, it says "There was an error" or "Device not recognized" and nothing happens. I have tried re-installing Samsung drivers, removing them, and everytime when I plug my phone, it starts to install the driver, then says there was an error.
I did a factory wipe on my phone from the home + vol up + pwr button press menu, and the phone still doesn't work. Wipe codes such as *#*#7780#*#* do not work on the phone for some reason.
How can I reset my phone to its original state? At least it charges, but I'm no longer to do a USB interface with it.
Thank you.
Download stock rom and stock firmware for your mobile then boot into your recovery mode and first of all Wipe data partition and Wipe cache partition and format your whole system and thrj choose the option "choose zip frm sd card" and further select the zip file of your stock firmare and rom and install it
Note :- firstly install your respective firmware and reboot again into recovery and then install your rom
Your method failed for some reason, but strangely, it fixed the USB issue! So I was no able to connect through Odin and reflash with the stock rom
Thank you!

[Q] Softbrick/Bootloop after installing a Font under Xposed module Fonter

Am stuck in boot-loop when the phone(ROOTED) was rebooting after installing a new font using Fonter.
The device doesn't have CWM recovery, it has(accessed by holding Volume down and power button simultaneously) android system recovery(3e) where I tried both "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition", still didn't work.
For flashing Stock ROM I need to use Smart Phone Flash Tool as its a MediaTek based phone. But I don' t have Android USB Driver installed and now since I can't switch on my phone the the Adb Driver Installer on my pc doesn't detect my phone to install the required drivers required before flashing using the Smart Phone Flash Tool .
Please help me recover my phone ANYHOW.
You can also disable the Xposed framework by repeatedly pressing the power button while booting the device (v2.5 or above). If you can. That's gonna be hard to do with bootloop.

I am facing the similar problem. I have reformatted my rom twice and now in the 3rd time I am realizing that it happens when I try to install a font from Fonter Xposed Module. I tried your suggestion but I am unable to boot my device and the booting continues :crying::crying:

wipe data/factory reset changes doesn't apply (Note N7000ZSLO2 Model:SHV-E160S)

*NEED HELP PLS*
1-My phone doesn't keep time/date/language when I reboot
2-The language goes back to French when I reboot
3-All my apps show the stop error when i make any setting change after reboot
4-Any app that I install after reboot will disappear on the next reboot, except the SU app I installed as zip from sdcard in CWM-based recovery window
5-The phone make sound when I connect to pc but doesn't to ask to chose connection mode, so pc doesn't detect it even though I have USB Debug enabled
6-I did the wipe data/factory reset several times but there's no change when i switch ON the phone even though the wipe data/factory reset was successful.
7-The only button combination that works is the one to go to Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power )
8-I can only go to Recovery Mode when I try to factory reset in the phone settings. The phone will restart and take me to Recovery Mode
-Odin is unable to detect the phone.
I just think is the internal storage that is corrupted or something but i can't tell for sure. So please i need ur help on how to fix this problem or if there is any app that i can install as zip from sdcard in CWM that can scan or format or fix this problem

You flashed the firmware on the wrong CPU, our N7000 runs Exynos but yours runs Qualcomm. Go find the correct firmware for your phone.
