Another bug what causes Black screen.

If you have attached sticker or something at top/reft of screen,
It would occur Black screen.
I want to call it "Illuminance sensor bug".
O2x has screen-off function to reduce battery drain while calling.
But screen couldn't be waken if illuminance sensor was turning off after calling.
You may have thought it was BSOD.
The solution is very simple.
Remove sticker or do out battery.
I recommend first way and It is not exactly bug.
PS: This only applies to sticker above illuminance sensor.

It means only what you attached.
If you didn't, It dosen't applies to this case.

it's called a proximity sensor, its doing the job it is supposed to not a bug, no one with the knowledge about "proximity sensor" would put a sticker on it

Some ppls attach sticker on phone to decorate
and dosen't know about proximity sensor.

Who knows, they might not know that there is a proximity sensor...or it really exist, happens alot and I really don't know if you're on drugs or a sticker freak putting stickers on the front side of the phone. I would understand if its a screen protector but a sticker?

I guess sticker only, but a proximity sensor responds to a thin transparent tape like screen protector.
You can check this at Hidden menu/Device test/ ALC/Proximity Test.

Yeah mine does respond even with a screen protector, sometimes it would dim, but little cleaning and its ok.

[ISSUE] Screen not functioning during call

Hey guys!!
So i'm a proud owner of the white international version of the Xperia Z, but there is a problem that I've noticed with the phone!
When i make calls, and the other end picks up, phone screen turns black, I try and turn the screen on with power button and no luck, the screen is unresponsive and does not turn back on until the other end hangs up!
Glitch in the software? Anyone else by any chance?
BTW phone is rooted

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* and check if the proximity sensor is working.

just dial that number, i went to service test and i presume proximity switch (no proximity sensor) and on the screen it says 'Proximity switch ON' and made a beep sound

So, by any chance has anyone else got this problem? Please help

Wave your hand on it,next to the led light.
It should say off and on with the beep.

Yes I did! I never thought the spigan glas.t would be the cause!
I've been giving my headaches thinking about this!
Guess the solution is to either remove glas.t or the proximity sensor app.

Proximity Sensor Not Working During Calls?

When I pull the phone away from my face to use the keypad or switch to speaker or end the call even, the screen doesn't turn on. I turned off just about all of the motion sensors in settings would that have something to do with/affect the proximity sensor?

Is anyone else experiencing poor proximity sensor behavior during calls? Proximity works great during sensor tests, but fails to turn screen on/off during calls correctly. Problem is identical across 3 seperate Note3 devices I've tested and oddly I get the exact same issue on Galaxy Mega.

Mine works most of the time. Every once in awhile it flakes out. Same on my note 2 but it was very very rare on note2. I am possibly thinking it might be these cases with fatter lips I've been using since there is so little choice for a great case. My diztronics tpu is awesome but sadly it doesnt fit proper with wireless charging cover and I ruined it trying g to mod it.

I'm not using a case, screen protector, or anything. Exchanged my device and a few days later the proximity sensor is failing 100% of the time during calls. It works flawlessly for everything else...just buggy with stock dialer.

Maybe an app that is causing chaos. I had a speakerphone app bork my proximity sensor sensitivity.

Mine annoys the **** outta me, as soon as I make a call, phone in had, on table wherever it may be the screen turns off.

With this many people having issues with it, it might be an app that's causing it because testing shows the sensor works right?

I had the same proximity sensor issue on my first brand new N3. I think it was faulty from the start. when doing the sensor test, the screen would light up when you place your hand over the sensor, and stay light up when you move it away.
I even reset it to new a few times with the same problem. I got tired of the problem and did a warranty exchange. The new phone works as is. I also went to my local BB where they had a Samsung booth and tested all the N3s they had there. None of them had the proximity sensor issue. I believe it's a hardware problem.

I had the same issue and requested an exchange from ATT. So far so good on the new one. Very frustrating issue!

I am having this same issue. Besides that and super high temps I honestly don't think this phone was ready to come out.

There's a separate setting in the phone app to turn off the screen during calls, and it's set on by default (I think). Could that be interfering with the sensor?

No, that's the setting to activate the proximity sensor during calls or not. Turning it off deactivates the sensor. Then you manually can turn your screen on and off during calls.

What else do you have installed? Any xposed mods? What FW version are you on? Have you tried it from stock? Just curious. I honestly do not have this problem.

My phone was also doing this. I realized that if anything was hooked up to my bluetooth my proximity sensor would not work when I put my phone to my ear.

Front camera oddity

Hi.
My Mother in Law has just bought an S4 Active and it had a problem. When using the front camera it has a bubble effect that we can't turn off. This can be Serb here http://imgur.com/a/wbw0v
Anyone got any ideas? There is a screen protector but it doesn't cover the camera. Glass is clean.
Any help much appreciated.

Nexus 6 screen wake issue

Hey guys,
I did a search but haven't found any specific reference to this problem so hopefully someone can help.
I've noticed when I'm finishing a call on my nexus 6 and I take it away from my face, the screen doesn't turn back on and it won't respond to the hardware buttons. I have to wait till the other person hangs up before my screen comes back on. Its intermittent but it's really annoying. Anyone else noticed this problem?

Are u using any screen protector? it might cause some issue, u might need to cut off the part that covers the ambient sensor

Hey, I am using a screen protector, the toughened glass ones but I've disabled the ambient mode anyway. The sensor itself is unhindered and it'll work sometimes but it's just failing too often and it's getting really annoying.

It's possible indeed. Gonna order another protector before I peel this off and test. Positioning them on the Nexus 6 is a bit of a pain with the rounded edges on the glass.
