There's a setting labeled "Turn off pen detection" in settings that can be toggled on/off. Does it save battery life when it's off or on? It says "Turning off pen detection when the pen is attached can extend battery life", so I assume when "Turn off pen detection" is ON it saves battery life, correct?
Also, what does this setting even do? I don't notice a difference whether it's on or off.

Switch in on position turns off pen detection and saves battery.

If the options is off you are able to grab a spare note 5/4/3 pen or some compatible wacom pens to use on the screen even when the pen is still inserted in your slot.

did you by accident unplug it (after powering) with the screen off? Sometimes this causes the deep sleep issue. Before you unplug always put screen on and unlock.
Try a reset and let it refuel again
If that doesn't help, put device in flight mode, power off, take out battery for a few minutes, put it back, power on, untick flight mode.
There are more options to resolve this, do a search on 'deep sleep'
Is this an HTC thing?? When I tick GPS on and off I have to see an extra screen , "Location settings" pops up after I choose GPS on or off. Whats up with the unnecessary annoyance... with all the other androids phones I have had I have never encountered this. Any way to get rid of seeing and going through that extra screen motion.
How do I avoid seeing this screen Every time?? Its pissing me off!!

Pretty sure it's a Sense/Sprint thing, in which case it'll be part of the framework and can't be disabled short of modifying the framework. If you use any sort of GPS toggle though (like the stock power widget), you won't see that message.
Actually it was okay before.
But after few days when I wrongly played with different Wi-Fi settings;
now when I look at the detailed battery consumption view, the WiFi bar keeps running all the way, while I kept it turned off..
I also have the "scanning always available option turned off."
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to Never..
My location setting is set to high accuracy.
Please give some suggest..
Or, Someone tell me what was the Default Wi-Fi setting..
Note: I don't want to Factory Reset.
My detailed battery consumption also shows the Wi-Fi to be constantly on, even though I keep it turned off most of the time. I'm not worried though, since when I check with Better Battery Stats it shows Wi-Fi has been turned off.
I'm guessing it's another bug in Lollipop...
check your location settings. if you have it set to high accuracy, it will use youe wifi, it even says it will. i keep mine on battery saving, so my wifi never gets shown that its on in my battery stats.

Hi.
I defined three routines for Bixby:
1-the first one is for leaving home. It should turn on mobile data, turn off wifi, turn on bluetooth
2-the second one is for driving. it will connect to my car bluetooth and then opens google map
3-third one is for arriving home. it should turn on wifi, turn off mobile data and turn off bluetooth
the biggest problem is for the first one. it does not run automatically and I need to disable and enable the Bixby Routines in the quick menu. otherwise nothing happens
the second one runs properly (after the first one is activated as above)
the third one runs correclty but does not turn off the bluetooth
I seatch the net and read many pages but still could not find an answer to the above issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Disable all power management, set display power mode to Optimize or higher.
Lol, little bixby sucks.
thanks the problem is that I could not find any display setting for Optimize or Higher.
This how it appears in Device Care on my N10+'s

Hello.
I have such a problem with the tasker. I have created a task that turns on always on display when it receives notifications. I used secure setting: aod_switch 1. The problem is that when the screen is turned off, it doesn't work, only when I turn the screen on and off, it turns on always on display. Do you have any idea what is wrong? Phone Huawei P30 pro with emui 12.
It worked fine in the previous version (emui 11)
on my Samsung A71., aod_switch is meant for me 'Always on display' .
This is for OMLED screen when screen is off, showing the clock on the screen. So that aod_switch not sure if it meet your need as you are looking for keep screen turn on. If you want to make sure , goolge aod + your device model to see search result.
Facing similar problem on my oneplus 9 pro after updating to os13, so i have added a new action category "Display--Turn On=100ms, whenever selected app get notification display turn on=100ms and after screen off AOD On. Hope it helps
