Rooting 920g Indian Note 5 - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
I have tried really hard to find methods to root the Indian Note 5 model, n920g, but haven't been successful till now. Can someone please help in confirming and then guiding the way to root the device.
Amy help will be much appreciated. Thanks again.

right now only way to root note5 is through custon kernel.. For n920g i think spacex, skyhigh or arter97's kernel would work.. Check those threads first and then flash at ur own risk..
First flash custom recovery then flash kernel of ur choice and then flash latest supersu

have u got working root solution????

For flashing a rootable stock rom you can find a guide here.
Just follow everything step-by-step.
Then root it with this method + install CWM.
And flash Darky Rom Note with this guide.
Edit:
Damn dr.ketan, I was too slow

This is the right section to post rather than the WIKI page help...
search for Philz LSZ kernel and flash it from stock recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360 1A or 1B method from this tutorial depending on your requirement
i would like only the root and i am a noob as ull already know
and thanks for the help :good:
and one little thing
it says in 1b method that i flash the superuser but also shud i also flash the busy box along with it ? ?
i mean is it needed ?
doesnt superuser grant you the root already ?
(just out of curiosity)
if you want to use root apps.. some apps need BB.. so its better to flash it..
thanks
helped me a lot and saved me loads of time
so should i flash both BB and SU?
(this will be my last question )
yes or flash philz kernel..
should i uninstall the SU app that was there prev. on my rooted after goin to jb and then root in accordingly ?
if you installed JB.. the app will not be there.. so you will need to flash that su zip file to get supersu. after that update the app and binaries

Occasional restart after root

Hey i was wondering if there is anywhere i can find a stock rom to flash for the T-mobile variant of the Note 5. I recently rooted and flashed TWRP. I was wondering where I can find a stock rom for the T-mobile note 5 to flash via odin. If not could there be any other way to diagnose the issue. Thank you.

Are you on custom kernel?... this is a known issue with some custom kernels... try changing Kernel.

+1. This is a well-known issue on some kernels. Flash either Arter97's kernel or SkyHigh.
I recommend Arter's. I'm on v11 and have no issues at all.

Thank you guys for your responses. I really appreciate them.
I used Odin to install the "Noble Kernel_auto-root" and I guess is the one is giving me problems.
Lake I said before, I am new in Android and probably you find my questions dumb but just to be sure I'm doing the right procedure. Do I have to download the arter97 for galaxy note 5 and can I use again Odin to overwrite the previous kernel Nobel I had installed? or do I have to follow a different procedure?
Thank you Manishvy, Akw6190 & Brava27 again for your help!

You can try Dr. Ketan's rom..it has option available for different kernels (including stock modified). If you want to flash kernel alone..i think odin is the only way (until flashable zip available- for that you need custom recovery).

Incorrect. If @alfboy001 has a custom recovery installed, he can flash the kernel that way. Most kernels I've seen are .zip format so custom recovery would be the only way to flash them. ODIN is for .tar or .tar.md5 files only.

Noobie tries to flash please help.

I had iPhones past few years and came back to android.
My last rom flashing was back when I have galaxy s2....
Anyway, I bought a used note 5 (N920i) with Venom 1.4 flashed, and now trying to upgrade to Dr.ketan's M6.
Few noob questions.
1. Whart are Bootloder, modem, and Kernel? M6 installation guide mentioned about BL and Modem, but not Kernel.
2. Venom 1.4 is LL and M6 is MM, so do I need to flash stock 920i MM first before I do anything else?
3. Since I am already on customs rom and knox is tripped, Flashing another custom Rom would not give me deep sleep issue right?
4. Do I have to worry about 1,2,3? or just follow installation guide Dr. ketan provide?
I know they might be too basic questions, but please help me.
Thanks.
