[Q] Ubuntu for Asus padfone

Hello,
I'm looking for a new phone now, and I really want ubuntu OS on it. Either as ubuntu for android or ubuntu mobile OS.
At the moment the Asus padfone seems to me like the perfect device for Ubuntu, but it doesn't seem like anyone agrees. There is no mention of it anywhere that I can see and I can't even find the device on xda. I have contacted Asus and suggested that they work on it, but of course they cannot reveal anything to me.
Does anyone know if there are people working on it? Is it likely that the padfone infinity can run ubuntu alongside it?
Just a question about ubuntu for android: If I run the desktop OS, I will be able to run games on steam? And other games like Heroes of newerth that have a linux version. How well will these games run? I mean: How far behind are ARM than x86?
Thank you

I was really hoping somebody would bring this up... I did some research on the Padfone before and getting Ubuntu on it works like this: if you can get CM10 working on the Padfone then it can be done. The problem is I haven't seen anybody willing to port CM10 to the Padfone, but it can be rooted.

Is this only valid for Padfone "1"? Or is this the case for both of them?
Im thinking about getting the padfone infinity (nr 3). Obviously no one can answer about infinity since it hasnt been released yet, but I was hoping to see if anyone cared about the product line at all

Hi,
are you people still thinking about this because I'm really interested.
I have the PadFone 1 with phone/tab/keyboard/stylus and think the ASUS done rubbish on the latest version of the firmware.
I'd really like to go with Ubuntu but need to be sure about it as this is my only phone and don't want to brick it.
Maybe you guys should also look at www.padfoneclub.com. They have a forum and people really interested by the device.

Question: Will OnePlus 3T get Ubuntu Touch/ Plasma Mobile?

Hello, guys.
So this is a question that only the gurus can answer, i think.
Will we get either of the two beautifully Linux Mobile distributions for our phone?
I think that the OP3T has the specs to perform great with either (dual-booting with android, of course).

Linux on Nexus 7 2013 flo

Hello friends,
I would like to turn my old Nexus 7 flo into a little Linux machine. My understanding is that Ubuntu Touch is not supported anymore/discontinued. I think it's too heavy for the tablet anyways. Can you recommened any other linux distros that might run somewhat smoothly on this beautiful old piece of hardware ? If you have some experience with using Linux on old hardware i'd love to hear about it !
This is my first post here, i have a bit of experience flashing ROMs on my Nexus and Xperia P devices. But i'd love to start tinkering with linux.
