On my previous Samsung devices (Galaxy S5, Tab S 10.5"), there was an option under the My Files app to "Scan for nearby devices". I would use this to access my network media drives to copy to/from files. This option is no longer available in the My Files app on the Tab S2. Is this feature available somewhere else on the Tab S2? How can I access my network drives now from the Tab S2?
Many thanks in advance!

How to transfer files between your camera and your galaxy phone?
I tried to transfer files between 2 devices one is my camera and the other is galaxy note2 but find out the only possible way in lack of wifi is bluetooth which is quiet disappointing. does anyone have a better idea to share files between galaxy devices?
You don't need an existing network to transfer over wifi.
All recent galaxy devices come with wifi-direct which is similar to sending over Bluetooth.
and you can also use tethering to create a network to join, and then use ftp to transfer the files (either device can be used to tether, you can use ftp server ultimate for a sharing, and you can use FX with plus addon to browser the shared folders)
Or simply use DropBox, then you can acces from annywhere
Hi everyone, I've been trying to fiddle with my CIFs network hard drive shares to see if there was any way to virtually mount them so that the Gallery sees them as though they were on my SDCard locally. I know that with kitkat it is required that you use a kernel that supports CIFs and as of Dec 6th, AEL (I use the TMo variant of the Note 4) supposedly supports CIF's network shares.
I have been able to successfully mount them using CIFS manager in the play store but when going to browse within any file explorer the folders show up but they are empty. Does anyone have any other ideas? I would love to be able to use the VR Gallery to browse 3D files stored on my PC as I have a rather extensive selection and having to copy back and forth on to the micro SD is a slow and tedious process. Hopefully this feature is added in the future but for the time being I'd love to get some ideas on whether or not we could possible get files to stream over wifi from a file server.
Hi,
I want to connect my Gear via USB OTG cable to my Note 3. It works - Gallery app is opening pictures directly on the watch.. but that's as much as I can get. I want to copy/delete/move files from my Gear using File Manager. Unfortunatetly Gear is not visible as "drive" but as "device" therefore I can't browse it content easily. Any advice?
Given the omission of microSD an USB 3.0 what is the absolute fastest way to transfer files between the Note 5 and a PC? What speeds are attainable? I was under the impression that 802.11ac compatibility would enable transfer speeds rivaling those of USB 3.0 but I appear to have been mistaken. Any info on what you folks are using and what speeds you are getting is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-Dan
wifi file transfer (play store)
samsung sidesync (built in app)
only difference is
wifi file transfer uses FTP so you can access your storage via a web browser with an IP address an a port
samsung side sync you need to install a client on the pc as well.
but both works pretty good, except that side sync has more features too. while WFT is only.. well to transfer files.
i use both.. go with WFT if you want simplicity.
