N9208 root with fingerprint? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Completely new to Android so I am wondering if it's possible to root my Note 5 N9208 and keep my finger print scanner working?

Yes. You can still use it for unlocking your phone.

Is it possible to unlock a Note 3 that has blocked IMEI from ATT?

Hi guys,
Got my hands on a note 3 that is now apparently has a bad IMEI... . I was wondering if it is possible to unlock a note 3 from ATT that has a blocked IMEI? I looked through several unlock services online and all of them will not do blocked IMEIs...
If I can unlock it, I can use it outside of the USA.
Your help is much appreciated! Thank you!

So buying a code end up not working... it said "failed"
I decided to root the phone using the "Root De La Vega" method.
And then use Region lock Away and was able to unlock the phone! Now I am using it with Bell Mobility in Canada.
So if anyone in the future end up with a AT&T N900A Note 3 that has a bad IMEI, they can try the method I used.
Hope this helps, thank you!
You can sim unlock it and use it on another carrier

Hi,
yeah thats what I wanted to do! Just a sim unlock. But several companies say they are unable to provide sim unlock services for phone that has a block IMEI.. However, i think I have found one that is willing to do it!
I will report back if it works... Thank you for replying!

Hi,
But I need to root the note 3 first right to use the region unlock app? I thought the Chain Fire CF auto root thing doesn't support N900A? I went on the website http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ and couldn't find one for N900A... read it some where about boot leggers...no idea what that means lol.

Will I be able to root it using Chainfire CF auto root? Or i will need to use an alternative method? If so, do you have a recommendation? I am new to this rooting thing...i don't even know what it actually does.

if you are familiar with iOS, rooting is the same thing as jailbreaking basically.
a lot of people have been using Kingo to root theirs. you can ask around for help, but doing do will void your warranty so you might just want to pay for the unlock.

Asking is always a nice sentiment. ?
There are an over abundance of guides here and on YouTube of how to root your device. N910t is rather easy to root.

Guys, have you tried something like using Google to search for "how to unlock n9500 bootloader"? I just did and the first result was a thread here at xda with all the info you need for that, magisk, etc. No need to ask in separate threads. It's a basic question, so just search for it and you'll have your answers.

The root method on Snapdragon models has just been patched. Read OP in the link above. You can disable updates via package disabled app but that means you could never update. Also battery wouldn't show charge past 80%. Read the thread please.

'Cause yes, it is possible to root the phone, but it is nearly impossible to unlock the bootloader, which is required for rooting.

Well, then Huawei is not your best choice.
Huawei closed its bootloader code program around 2019 april with some stupid "facts".

I have absolutely no idea about that, last Samsung phone I've owned is a Pocket Neo.
Ask about this at the Samsung board.

Your question was "Hi everyone, is that possible to root huawei P20 PRO with version 9.1.0.387 ??", so the user who told you "yes" was referring to your question directly, rooting P20 Pro, v 9.1.0.387.
You omitted an important detail, if your bootloader is locked or not, so once we figured that you don't have an unlocked bootloader, we gave you the correct answers.
P. S. Sometimes you have to ask the right question to get the correct answer.
