My auto rotation is not working correctly. It will turn to landscape mode, but will not change back unless I unchecked the auto rotation button. I have adjusted the Horizontal calibration and the Gyroscope calibration without any success. I first noticed it on Check rom after a couple of days. Last night I switched to Rocket V23 and I still have the problem. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have gotten use to turning my phone to landscape with the display adapting and then turning it back. Now it seems to be a hassle to turn on/off the auto rotate button to adjust screen.
Thanks
Travis
Hi folks,
I swear I had this solved once but after a factory reset I can't find a way to do it again:
Settings > Sound > Feedback > Haptic feedback disabled
In fact everything under Feedback is disabled.
Yet when on the home screen I long press an icon in order to move it or delete it a feedback vibration occurs.
Is there another setting for this?
Cheers,
Daniel
Hi
under feedback tab uncheck all the 4 boxes and note you're not in silent mode(vibrating)
then check the issue and report the result.
Goodluck
Thanks a lot,
that's exactly what I did.
Please see attachment.
For some weird reason the vibrating
still happens for long screen touches
(but not for anything else).
In other words, is there a way to completely shut the phone up vibration-wise?
Am not sure about TouchWizz but I think other launchers have the option to disable the long press feedback..sorry can't remember for sure as I've been running ICS for quite some time

Try downloading "Spare parts" app from Google Play and disabling "Haptic feeback" from it...worked for me.
In Settings >> Sound , you've got "Vibration intensity". Pull all sliders all the way to the left and this will get rid of all vibrations (well at least I didn't notice any since I changed that).
I am not sure if it disables the "battery charged" vibration though, and don't want to risk being woken up at night to check
Hi guys, suddenly i'm having this problem with my phone i'll let you the link to the video so you can see what i'm talking about- This is happenig just with the screen off when i missd the fingerprint or when i shut the phone off. I alrady tried other roms (i'm at xiaomi.eu stable) and flash it with miflash to global stable. The problem is always gone for a while after flashing but hours later even a day later it happend again and then never goes. It has to be hardware problem but i don't knoiw what could be, i don't want to replace de screen until i'm sure because once ii's unlocked with the screen on and i'm using it never shows a problem. I hope you can help me

Dang it. I'm experiencing the same issue for the past few days with my Global ver. Mi8.
Any solutions?
Any chance you installed "Dark Mod" or a similar MIUI Theme ?
It's probably a theme problem, had a similar bug when I installed a dark theme. Try restarting your device and then apply the default theme.
Just when I was about to go to the service centre, my phone becomes normal. How about you guys?
Have you try different rom?
Try to install custom kernel to resolve your screen flickering.

I have a similar problem. The screen, sometimes, when i try to turn it on, flashes and turn off again. When trying again it works.

This is exactly my problem, too. Did you solve it yet? I'm on newest global stable, no root and default theme.
Turn off auto brightness and turn upp brightness until it stop flickering.
You can try the app oled saver.
If the issue persists irregardless of brightness settings it's obviously a theme issue

im on screen flickering problem when phone going to sleep/lock
with your guide the flicker gone

The problem persists even though with oled saver installed. Is it software or hardware problem?
Hi
Can you try this
Go to Settings >> More Tab >> About device.
Find "Build number" and click 6 times fast on it.
You will then get the message saying: "You are now a developer"
Come back to Home Screen, and then go back to Settings >> More Tab >> Now you will see the "Developer Options"
Now go to Developer options >> Drawing Section or Rendering Section >> Find "Turn off hardware overlays" or "disable hardware overlays" >> This will force the phone to always use GPU for screen compositing

Did you install any custom miui theme?
My girlfriend had the same issue on her Mi 8, and it became so bad that the phone would just flicker and not show anything on the screen, even after restoring factory settings. She brought it to a Xiaomi service center, and after two weeks she got it back with no issues, the receipt they gave her mentioned a firmware update. Unfortunately, the phone came with an older MIUI version, and when it automatically updated to version 10.2.2 the flickering screen came back. We updated to 10.2.3 but the problem it still there. At least now the phone can be unlocked and used normally.
try this one
my mi 8 happened to have the same problem. it flickers every time I unlock and shut down my phone. I was about to repair it, but suddenly the flickers have gone. all I did was turn up the brightness somewhere around 50-70%. hope it helps!
dears, I have a worse variant of this problem: in my case, when the phone does not recognize the fingerprint. the screen blinks and then the phone turn off.
Have someone noticed that?
Here is the problem that i'm facing. Qlmost every time i plug my phone to the charger the screen start flickering, it even continue to flicker when i unplug it. Any advice?

Was this help screen flickering? Please advise..
Hi, I've just updated to Pie yesterday and found my phone does not wake the screen when I receive notifications. It could back then in Orea. The problem exists despite having the option on in setting. I also did factory reset just now and the problem is still there. Any idea?
Here it's normal as always.
Really strange
hi guys, i noticed that my phone's "lift to check" and "double tap to wake" aren't working sometimes, and the screen went black when i make a call. therefor i downloaded sensor test app and figure out those are caused by proximity sensor stopped working occasionally, especially when i take it out from my pocket, i had to restart my phone to make it works again.
i searched over the internet and tried all the ways but still no luck. Action taken included boot to safe mode, clear the cache of phone app/ google framework/ google services, android ambient and etc... and i also reset the app preference, download sensor calibration app, factory reset, yet, the problem still appear. i have used my phone for more than a year, and this issue was just suddenly poped out recently.
appreciated if anyone here could provide a solution. Thanks
