Auto Rotation Issue

I'm really sorry if this has been asked already, but I looked and couldn't fine anything.
I just got a used nexus one online, and its working fine except that the auto rotation isn't working. When I tilt the phone nothing happens, sometimes if I turn the screen off and on a couple times the orientation will change, but then I have to do the same thing to get the orientation back to what it was before.
I've had this problem on four different roms, stock 2.1 and 2.2 before I rooted, and then CM5 and CM6 RC1 after. I've tried wiping and reflashing, as well as wiping the rotation settings using Amon_ra's recovery. The only thing that makes me think its a software issue is that the accelerometer seems to work fine in other apps, such as the bubble lever app, and the labyrinth game.
I've looked everywhere and can't find any fix for this issue. I really love this phone otherwise, but rotation is pretty important for me. I'm kind of at a loss at this point, so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
I know it seems silly but is the box checked under settings : display?

[Q] Cannot receive incoming calls

Sprint HTC Hero
DarchDroid v2.8
Recovery: RA-Darchstar (v1.7... I think)
PRL: 60667
I bought this phone last week, rooted it, and attempted three or four different ROMs before settling on DarchDroid (which is awesome, by the way!). I was initially having issues with multiple FCs and it eventually became unusable until I read up that my device might not be able to handle the OC to 710mhz. I installed the OC widget and throttled it down and now it works like a champ and is still WAY faster than the stock 2.1 ROM. I am still having issues though, that hopefully, somebody can help me with or point me in the right direction. I've spent the last hour scouring almost all parts of the forum and can't find any answers to these issues. Forgive me if I looked them over...
1) All incoming calls go directly to VM. I can make calls and send / receive texts, but no incoming voice calls.
The next one is a two-parter...
2a) The phone will occasionally become so sluggish (borderline non-operational) that I need to reboot it. When I do, I clear the cache and it will reboot then function normally. Could this be a result of a widget that I have installed? (OC widget, battery monitor?)
2b) When I reboot the phone without booting into recovery (normal reboot) it goes into a continuous boot loop. When I try to restore my Nandroid, it still boot loops and I have to wipe and re-flash the ROM. Is this normal?
Have you tried re-flashing the ROM? Sometimes that fixes some of these kinds of issues....occasionally a ROM install won't go perfectly and simply wiping everything then reinstalling can correct some issues.
2b) Those bootloops you're getting are almost definitely because your phone can't boot at OC speeds. Even though you've scaled down the CPU with the OC widget, that doesn't actually take effect until after the phone has already booted and gone through its start-up processes. So until then, the kernel is making the phone boot at 710 or maybe even 768mhz, which it looks like your phone can't handle. Search through the Development forum and look for one of the 691mhz kernels -- flashing that may fix these bootloops for you.
I had the same issue with the latest Fresh Rom so I ended up switching to Zen Hero and have never had a FC on an incoming call since. I tried all the fixes for Fresh and never had any luck. I would suggest trying another rom.
p.s. I was able to OC the rom also and it still works fine.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up biting the bullet and calling Sprint and it turns out all that was needed was a refresh on my account, the phone works like a champ now! I'm using the OC widget and throttled it down to 595mhz, and even OC'd that little bit, it still BLAZES when compared to the Pre that I came from. No hitches or waiting - when I open a program or app, IT ACTUALLY OPENS QUICKLY... an amazing concept!
One more question though: in case I need to reboot, is there a way to save all of my phone settings? I already moved all of my apps to the SD card so I don't have to download them again, but it would be really helpful if I could just load a save file that would re-set my settings to the way I had them before. Is there an app or setting in the ROM for that?
Make a nandroid backup through recovery. It saves every little detail of your phone and if you ever need to go back to that you can simply restore that backup. Titanium Backup is another popular tool but I've never used it myself so I don't know anything about it.

Cannot adjust brightness.

Well, I'm kind of sorry that I have to make an appearance due to having issues rather than something else, but I really did not know what else to do.
So I bought my Optimus 2X a couple of weeks ago and used the stock rom for a few days. After that I decided to get something a tad bit better and I switched to the Modaco rom. Shortly after that I started experiencing brightness flickering (as explained here). And just recently the backlight / screen seems to have taken it to the next level by firstly freezing at a certain brightness setting (usually a very low setting) or seemingly completely turn off.
Since this occured I've tried performing a complete reset, I've try the Modaco rom, Mondego and right now I'm using Cyanogen.
This is not a case of the brightness settings disappearing, I have my SIM in and no matter how much I alter the settings, the brightness does not change. At times the brightness does slightly change to a brighter or dimmer level, but the change is minimal and it's always very dark in comparison to the levels I had before I experienced this issue.
I would really appreciate any hints, possible solutions because I'm doubting my ability to return the phone into its original state in order to have it replaced.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes his time to help me out
How about try go back to stock using NvFlash n after that only try other roms? I often use NvFlash when i encounter problems.
Tried and nothing changed :/
Smartflash
Have you tried flashing the stock rom using smartflash? It will revert your phone to the original state and you can bring the phone to LG service center for repair
Now I do not know which version your phone came with but here is a guide on flashing to stock ICS.

Guys, you're reviving a topic from June 2011 here, wtf?

Auto Rotation is not working properly...Plss help me :-(

Hi guys
Auto rotation is not working properly on my galaxy s...some times it doesn't even work...I tested it on both ICS and Gingerbread...Really it is hurting me...plss help me to solve this problem...
Thanks in advanced
plsss guys help me...im waiting for your replyyy
If its any help, my auto rotation was pretty buggered as well. It would work on gingerbread but only if you help the phone more vertical than you really needed to. ICS wouldnt work at all.
Mine also wouldn't work properly in google sky maps and similar apps, if you panned left and right, it would also twist the view a bit, difficult to explain but see if sky maps works as expected. Also compass wouldnt work properlly, only worked with phone flat, soon as you tilt it would start to change direction when should be pointing same way.
I went back to various stock roms, different modems, loads of stuff, reflashing boot loaders, unrooting everything and couldnt fix it.
was a hardware fault, no other reason i could see why it wouldnt work, and just got phone replaced under warranty. all good now.
what ROM you use or you are in stock ROM? go to settings/about telephone and write what you see in there

there is no calibration in settings.....what to do now?
I have a similar problem.
Autorotation of apps works ok on Ginger (2.3.5, 2.3.6), but on any ICS that I have tested doesn't work.
ICS has no horizontal calibration, so do not know what else to do.
Any hint?
i have the same problem on I9000 4.1.2 cyanogen mod,any solution?

Random crashes and reboots on Thrillseeker 3.1

I installed Thrillseeker 3.1 about 2 weeks ago, and have been noticing a few things. Sometimes the phone stops responding to touches for a while, like its locked up, or lagging, or maybe the wrong CPU governor. I don't know what's going on. Sometimes it randomly resets. One repeatable problem is that if I turn Wifi on, then off, then on again, the phone resets.
I have tried the 1.30Ghz kernel included in 3.1, the 1.38Ghz kernel, the 1.0Ghz "Saver" kernel, and the 3.12 update, but the same reset-on-wifi problem persists.
Is anyone else having similar problems? Simple fix?
I would try reflashing back to stock. Reinstall CWM, then try installing the ROM again.
Beyond that, maybe you should PM the guy who made the rom.

I haven't had the reboot problems since 3.12 update from 3.11 clean install. Have had lag issue a couple times..for me restarting holo launcher corrected...tried to recreate wifi issue bit is working for me. All three kernels are very similar the saver has 1.3 and 1.2 disabled and the hotplug gov tweaked
Also posting this in my thread might get you more help.. since your running thrill seeker its ok to post problems you are having in that dev thread as others may be having same issues and ill see it quicker and try to help fix it if I can.

yeah, i'm a noob
I'll try going back to stock and then reflash the latest thrill seeker. I would have posted in the dev forum, but I don't have 10 posts yet, so I'm restricted from posting in dev. only 8 more to go
3.12 hasn't had a random reset on me, just the wifi reset, but that one "works" every time.
Thanks,
brian
found lag problem and found possible fix
lag problem on thrillseeker 3.11/3.12 appears to be the CPU somehow resetting the Max MHz to 100MHz after the phone sleeps for 10-15 mins. Having Romtoolbox installed, then adjusting the CPU sliders quickly bypasses this issue. Although a true fix is in the coding, this workaround appears to be permanent once preformed. At least we now know it is not a flaw in the Rom as far as an overload or hang-up problem. I have not experienced the Wifi issue yet. If I can get a heads-up on how to induce it, I can look into it. Great work on the Rom!
problems im having
The rom itself is near perfect to me...I give thanks to all that put the hours and hardwork into this
I am a complete noob so any help or answers I will greatly appreciate. The only trouble I have from rom so far is if I'm using the browser while its plugged in.. might be a bad install after all. I really jumbled a few things like not making a nandriod. So I'm kinda stuck with with out a return to stock option...I have been trying to work through this but im a bit unsure how to get a stock Back on here. ..????? Any help....... back to rom I love thrillseeker 3.1....I been testing what I need in a rom and well I couldn't be happier that this rom seems to to do the job and then some....everything works perfect ....like I said the only thingthat seems fuzzy is when I plug in to wall charger and then it gets glichy.....
cpu
I adjusted sliders as well the second one seems to revert back to 100mhz often so its not a permanent fix. It does help....
Yeah. Funny thing. My phone broke (cracked screen), so I did an exchange at best buy and this rom works just fine on the new one. I guess my old one was kind of janky on the inside.
