Official Cm12.1 custom notification led - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys!
If you've been on the latest snapshot of cm12.1, you'll notice that led control has been partially lost. You can enable/disable it but can't set of your own way (neither using the settings, nor with any app from Playstore).
I wanted to ask if anyone knows the reason for this? It was not always like this, was it?
LED used to work in early nightlies, if I remember correctly. Does anybody know the latest nightly to which LED custom controls work fine, so we can point to the commit that has been the culprit, and maybe then make a flashable zip that fixes it?
I'm on a Mi 4W. I don't have any idea about whether the LED custom controls are working on MI 3W.

AOSP 4.4 with working rotation & camera

Hey all,
Found this on dhacker29's Twitter, been using it for a couple of days. It's pretty much the same AOSP 4.4 that we already have from EvanA and koko98, with one big difference. Autorotate and Camera are both working!
I figured I'd share and also hope that this can be used by other devs to get it working in their builds. I've also included a link to dhacker's gapps package, I've used both his and the PA gapps without issue.;
AOSP 4.4 rom: http://t.co/9mSQtIRoO7
Gapps: http://t.co/o4wzxsfkig
Just to be clear, this is not my work. I am just spreading the news. All credit for this excellent build goes to XDA member dhacker29. For those of us that are using his rom, it would be a good idea to thank dhacker29 for his work.
Just find one of his posts/threads on XDA and click a thanks for him. This is a pretty cool and very functional rom to have so early in 4.4 development.
EDIT: koko98 has built a CM11 that also has working rotation and camera. Here's his link in the dev section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509905

Been using it for a few days now. Only bug I've found is that location services don't work.
Might want to note that my device was charging extremely slowly after flashing this (might just be me)

awesome, just flashed and yeah rotation is working, needed this, lol.
EDIT: had to find a SU zip, something about this broke that.

Simply the best 4.4 rom available, great work!!
It's very good, except I don't know how to root it. I didn't flash gapps and now I have no custom recovery, nor root, and my computer won't detect is ADB device. Any help?

How? I have no TWRP, and I can't get TWRP because all of a sudden my PC no longer sees Nexus 7 at all, no MTP, so I can't access that and even when I properly reinstall all the drivers and enable USB debugging, it doesn't detect any ADB devices. It just gives me Windows beep beep sounds when plugging it in, but that's it, other than that it's useless. I should note that this started happening just after I installed Kit Kat (100% pure install), and I should add that I'm running Windows 8.1
Other than this, the ROM is very good! Well done developer.
If this is such a great ROM shouldn't it be posted in "Original Development?"
I was on 4.4 but downgraded because I wanted Screen Control and the Camera back.

what recovery were you using to flash this? the ROM flash shouldn't change your recovery.

Install recovery tool from the play store, use that to flash the latest twrp, it's a pretty useful app.
Once you have twrp use this zip for super user.

It's not posted in development because the dev, dhacker29 has not opted to post it himself. It's up to the dev or a designated maintainer of a rom whether or not to post it in development and provide support for it.
I found this rom and decided to post it as a way of sharing dhacker's work with the community. Besides, what does it matter where it's posted, if it works for you and you like it, use it. If it doesn't, just don't use it.

thanks a lot! Best rom available

Google Dialer Port (w/Incoming Caller ID Lookup)

After lots of frustration and hours to make this work, It's done.
This Google Dialer works just like the one in the Nexus 5 stock.
What's the difference between this dialer and the CM11 dialer?
1.) On the dial screen, it allows you to type a name of a business or "place" and the dialer will show you the closest numbers to you for fast dialing
2.) Incoming Caller ID Lookup, This compares your incoming call to the same database for any name lookup and/or picture lookup, in January or soon after, it will show contacts for Google+ on the caller ID screen. As far as I know, you do not have to have this person in your circles to have the caller id show.
How do you install it?
1.) First and very formost. This is for Cyanogenmod 11 with 4.4.1+. If you try to do it on any earlier Android version, you'll most likely get lots of force closes and your phone will stop functioning altogether... You've been warned...
2.) Boot into recovery
3.) Backup
4.) Flash this file: http://www.tinozplace.com/moto-kitkat/12-10_GoogleDialer_4.4.1_signed.zip or for 4.4.2,
http://www.tinozplace.com/moto-kitkat/12-12_GoogleDialer_4.4.2_signed.zip
5.) Reboot
6.) Profit???
I edited the installer file to delete dialer.apk, so you no longer have to do that.
Enjoy!
If you'd like, I have built the dialer into my gapps. This way you don't need to flash several zips each time you upgrade to a new nightly.
http://www.tinozplace.com/moto-kitkat/12-17-gapps-wDialer.zip
NOTE:
You can link to this post, however mirroring and posting the link to my site on any other forums is strictly prohibited. I worked for weeks doing research and was finally completed yesterday.
Tested to be working on:
HTC One
Motorola xt926
Motorola xt925
Motorola mb886
Sprint Galaxy S4 (Verizon)
If you have confirmed this zip is working on any other roms or phones, please post here
EDIT: Gapps fixed to allow use on other phones. Someone was complaining that Wifi was being interfered with, along my travels, I found that certain versions of CloudPrint was getting in the way. Updated to 4.4.1 CloudPrint2.apk.
EDIT: Works with 4.4.2
EDIT: Reports of the LTE toggle (in the quick settings panel) being broken have come to my attention. There isn't much I can do about this. It's google's code, not "backwards-compatible" with AOSP. You'll have to choose the dialer or the LTE toggle, sorry.
EDIT: If you downloaded 12/10gappswDialer, redownload the latest. Somehow, I forgot to put the APK's in the zip. Very sorry about this.
Did you test this on aosp roms base on android 4.4.1?
Just CM..
Wow fantastic work. I'm assume this would work on SlimKat. I just have to find the balls.
Reach down in your pocket, you'll find them
Let me know if it does work, my guess is it will as long as you are on 4.4.1

I use CM11 today build, also on yesterday build was the same.
If i flash a clean build those settings works fine, after i flash this google dialer i got the problems.

Are you flashing the Gapps with the dialer or just the dialer?
I do not have that problem, my guess is that you have the LTE toggle? That probably won't work because this dialer is Google source and CM is AOSP.
Did you have this problem in previous nightlies? or did you just start using this dialer?
Would this gapps are propper for ART?

[MOD] [XPosed] Disable charging led

Hi guys,
I was looking for a simple way to disable the led when the phone is charging, without success...
So I decided to try it myself, with the XPosed framework.
Please feel free to try this mod : by default, all the leds are enable. You can enable/disable each led (low/charging/full) in the XPosed module settings.
The module is tested only on my 4.4.2 stock XPeria ZR. It should run on others phones (nothing specific to sony) but I did not try myself.
As usual with XPosed modules, you need to activate the module in XPosed, then reboot. You don't need to reboot when you change the leds settings.
Edit : Added to the XPosed module repository : http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.boblc.disablechargingled
Edit : This mod cannot enable leds that are not enable in your rom/device. That's only for disabling it.
If you have any problem, please try the 1.0.2 version and activate the log in the settings. Please pm me the XPosed log to let me see what is wrong. Thanks.
Please post any suggestions/bugs/questions in this thread, thanks.

[Q] Custom Rom 4.4.2 gapps help

Hi there,
I have just installed the cm-11-20131226-UNOFFICIAL-p990 custom rom on my LG P990
what is running great. But I have some notice what I would like to share.
First of all the camera is blinking and sometimes goes to upside down when moves fast the screen.
There are two phone icon in the settings menu.
And how can I setup the button lights to change the its colors how I setup that ?
These are things what I noticed about this rom.
Can somebody help me with a gapps install to fix these problems?
I hope I have written in the right forum about this.
Thanks the answer/s/.
Best regards,
Lewis
Hey there, the camera problem is a known one and at the moment is not solved. About leds, i do believe our device has only white ones, so we can't change the colors. Only possible change is brightness, that can be changed in kowalski manager. The ROM has gapps included, so if you need more, use playstore.

Hi mate,
Thanks for the light up.
I didn't know that for hundred percent this phone has just white light.
I can live without that.
So we must wait for the camera fixing.
Sorry I mean the gapps these problems fixing.
Or its just solve with a newer installation, not just a smaller file what is fixing these problem/s/?
Thanks again.
Have a nice day!
It's not the gapps that cause this problem. We've just to wait for pengus to fix that. Pay attention, that kowalski kernel is in alpha state, so such problems are not surprise.

Fingerprint sensor non-functional

A few weeks ago the fingerprint sensor on my Mi MIX randomly stopped working. After inquiring I discovered that this is a common issue that can be resolved by reflashing a rom. I was on MIUI before this but decided I wanted a change so I flashed LOS partly in the hope that this would resolve the fingerprint sensor issue but it still appears to be non-functional. I can't find it in the menu, which is just the same as with MIUI where it one day randomly stopped working and disappeared from the menu. Is there anything I can do about this?

What was the error exactly? Miui roms have got matching(compatible) firmware packages inside the zip. Non-miui roms don't have it. Firmware is basically, the package which contains modem/radio and some essential parts for the device. When i flashed an older firmware on my current rom, fingerprint menu suddenly disappeared, which is similar with your situation. That's why i suggested it. Which twrp you're using? I prefer you to use multirom twrp or blunden/raupe twrp to avoid flashing error, i'd link them later on.
Edit: Blunden twrp in extras folder: https://mega.nz/#F!ywg1kbZL!HitRlVcDhzT2GAwbLXWbxQ
