Mixer_paths.xml - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody got any tips on what values to change in mixer_paths.xml that can increase ringer volume without distorting the speaker? I found that modifying the value rx7 from 84 to 90 in speaker-protected is just shy of ringtone distortion but playing music on slacker distorts kinda bad unless I don't go past 2 clicks before max volume. This I can live with but I would rather have it perfect so I never blow my speaker and still be able to hear my phone ring in my pocket or being able to wake me when I'm sleeping. Don't tell me to use viper4android as I have tried several times and it never changed a thing. Yes I followed everybody's suggestions and not once was there the slightest difference plus it eats the battery and I don't want that. Here is what I edited for those who want louder ringtones.
<path name="speaker-protected">
<ctl name="SLIM RX1 MUX" value="AIF1_PB" />
<ctl name="SLIM_0_RX Channels" value="One" />
<ctl name="RX7 MIX1 INP1" value="RX1" />
<ctl name="COMP0 Switch" value="1" />
<ctl name="RX7 Digital Volume" value="90" />
<ctl name="SPK DRV Volume" value="8" />
</path>

Better Keyboard - skin developement

Hi all.
I'm getting started on skinning for Better Keyboard - skins also work with Smart Keyboard, Ultra Keyboard and probably others.
There's an ass-ton of blurry skins on the Market so I'm aiming at just producing high quality, graphically crisp skins.
EG: compare a current skin on the market with mine:

What I'm after is a little bit of help regarding ALT keys and XML.
I know you can define the ALT keys to have different .9.pngs but I'll be goddamned if I know how they're declared in the XML.
EG: http://cdn3.staztic.com/screenshots/better-keyboard-skin-smoog-10-1.jpg
The res files are:
btn_keyboard_key_alt_normal.9.png
btn_keyboard_key_alt_pressed.9.png
The existing keyboard_key_feedback.xml, for example, looks like this:
Code:
<selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<item android:state_long_pressable="true"
android:drawable="@drawable/keyboard_key_feedback_more_background" />
<item android:drawable="@drawable/keyboard_key_feedback_background" />
</selector>
So I need to figure out what to put in btn_keyboard_key_alt.xml
Thanks in advance for any help

[Q] earphone connection problem

hello all.. i am connecting brainwavz m5 to my x8 headphone jack. this earphone has 3 lines which is usually compatible with x8.. but after connecting it to x8, it sounds tinny and muffled and only sounds correct when i keep holding the remote button on the iem. so my question is that is this iem compatible with our x8? i have connected this to various other devices and it has worked with many phones including old nokia phones too but i cant play it correctly on x8 only. any help would be appreciated. and i was thinking to connect a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm female connector first and then connect my x8.. would this even work??
edit: i read the faqs and its written that the x8 supports only 2 lined 3.5mm jack.. but that was not the case.. my original x8 headphones which i got along with it has 3 bands and its fully functioning
the headphones of the x8 are "special" they have the wires inverted or something like that i dont remember cuz i read it a while in another forum
is there any converter i could use to make it sound correct?

yup !! ~ Perhaps, if you have a headphone with a microphone swith(on/off) along the wire you can try this
-turn off the switch
-insert the jack partially
-play some songs(so the current flows)
-wait 3 seconds or more until sounds from the speaker is off
-push the jack in completely..
its worth a try..(it works with my AVF headphone )
thanks for the input but im afraid that doesnt work on my brainwavz m5..

Audio Mods

I'm in the process of tweaking my phone to perfection, just curious which audio mod is the best? PureXAudio, Viper4Android, or Beats? not much experience with the PureXAudio or Viper4Android

I have been using purexaudio (now called project ERA) for months and have not needed to try any other mods, I am still blown away by the difference it makes. I have tried using the mod with Beats turned off but for me sounds much better with it on. Viper4android let's you tweak your audio settings regardless of what mod (or stock) audio your using, I use it with project ERA. Viper is great for lowering the min volume setting (speaker optimization, I can't use the alarm without this being on) or raising the maximum (extra loud xtreme). Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

[Q] speaker volum too law

Hi guys, I have two problems I do not know how to solve:
1-level audio speaker is too low when I listen to music or I watch netflix, is there a way to increase audio power?
I read somewhere about media volum limiter but I can not find it on my notes even if I'm looking for it I do not find this option
2- if I block a phone number from the call log using pull-down menus, the number appears blocked but it is not, to block it I really have to use phone settings / block numbers, is it a bug?
Regarding your first question, yes the volume in note 8 is not loud, but you can enhace it in settings>sonds and vibrations>sound quality and effects>equalizer, custom, and there put all freqs to max, besides, you can adjust the performance mode to entertainment

Thanks, I've tried both ways that you have advised me but it does not change much, there is no other way? sure that the sound of this note is really disgusting.

I tried this way, but if I cover the speaker with my hand I hear the sound lower, very strange.

Can you use a headphone jack to control volume?

Simply put, my volume buttons failed and replacement parts aren't available for my device. I want to modify the buttons on headphones to control system volume? Can it be done?

You must buy a set of headphones with this feature in place in order for this to work.

Let's see now, what percentage of shoes out there actually have laces versus those without?
